The Titans signed Jason Jones today and released Bryce Fisher. Here is the story:

1 to go! I think they will get Johnson signed without many problems and have a full roster when camp starts. I'm very excited about Johnson, I think he is going to open up a lot options for the offense they has not been there. I'm ready for the season to get going! Let's hope LenDale arrives in shape and everyone has a healthy training camp!

I posted this in a reply to a different thread, but feel we need to talk about how Jimmy got All Star Game Tickets and Home Run Derby Tickets. I have 10 theories, please add to the list....

1. Our hard earned blog money paid for his trip (ok, it’s a free site…but you get my point)
2. Dannoe (I think he works in NYC), pulled some strings and got Jimmy there
3. He used to supply Josh Hamilton???
4. He was the old guy throwing to Josh Hamilton in the derby.
5. He is Josh Hamilton
6. Since there was a ridiculous amount of Cubs in the game, they let some of their sorry-a__ fans go too (Go Cardinals)
7. The NL needed someone to pitch the 16th…..Jimmy was ready
8. The Titans paid for his trip so he wouldn’t be around when we fail to re-sign Haynesworth.
9. Belmont University has better perks than anyone knew
10. Stubhub?

Reinfeldt and Fisher do not go to this web site when considering the draft.

Another thing that is obvious....
Reinfeldt and Fisher have forgotten more about this franchise than we will ever know. In other words, they know what we need more than anyone else.

Here is what I think:

I think they saw the WR's everyday in practice last year and they obviously felt that there was nobody in the draft better than these guys, or of a better value than what the Titans picked.

I LOVE the pick of Johnson. Maybe they could of gotten him later, but if he is the guy that Reinfeldt and Fisher want, then why chance it? I keep hearing on TV and reading that VY needs a weapon. This guy is a weapon! He has good hands, quickness and unbelievable speed. He is the guy that if he gets into the secondary then he is gone. When was the last time we had that?

I honestly am getting tired of the people who like the Titans because they have Vince Young saying they aren't giving him enough weapons, not using him the right way, or complain that they haven't brought over enough Texas guys....come on, he's a pro, a titan, not a Longhorn. First and foremost I am a fan of the team more than any player or coach on this team....and the team is trying to get him as many weapons as they can. I promise that Reinfeldt and Fisher aren't sitting around trying to figure out a way to screw Young.

I know people are disappointed that we didn't draft Bennett, he's a Bear, we need to get over it...just like I have to get over not picking Hardy.

I know nothing of the round 2 guy, but I am OK with drafting the TE in round 3. If he was the best blocking TE in the draft, then it is a good pick. People are whining that we didn't take an o-lineman....well isn't that what we basically did with this pick.

Hawkins is a great pick. I would of liked to have had some of the "better" WR's, but this could be a steal in the 4th round. What's best is we got him for Adam Jones. If he makes the field, then it is a great pick...and I mean the practice field!

I understand that it doesn't look like a great draft overall, but Reinfeldt and Fisher know more than we do about the needs of this team, and hopefully they have filled those needs. We were a playoff team last year. I was happy with that, now it's time to start winning some playoff games! Jimmy has posted the amount of time until our opener....I can't wait!

Just some things that I have seen/heard.

The NFL will announce the schedule tomorrow. I'm guessing the Titans get two MNF games, 1 home and 1 away. I am hoping for a home Sunday Night. I am one of the few people in the world that likes to listen to John Madden.
They were talking on ESPN Radio Saturday about some website (maybe scoutsinc.com did a grading out of the 2005 NFL draft. They say it takes a good 2 or 3 years to evaluate. The Titans were graded fairly low at that time, but now have an A. Not sure how...that was Adam Jones, Michael Roos (O.K., that may be why), Courtney Roby (go Indiana), Roydell Williams, Brandon Jones all going on day 1. I don't think I would call it an A draft, but Roos was a great pick and I still like Roydell Williams' potential...unfortunately I bet his best years won't be as a Titan. The Lions and Vikings both went from A's to F's in the grading.
Turn your head now Jimmy.... I guess talks for Adam Jones are heating up again. I really hope the Titans either get a 3rd round pick for him or keep him. If he doesn't want to be here....tough crap. Shut up and play football, you signed your contract and you still owe us two years.....however I would be happy with a 4th rounder and a WR.
I am kind of hoping the Titans trade down if they aren't going to take a WR at 24. I really think WR is where we need to go. However, the more I see of Dan Conner, the more I like (isn't he Roseanne's husband?)

I know many of you are Memphis fans, how's everyone handling things? I'm seriously not mouthing, I feel for you guys. We are all Titans fans so we know what it is like to come up so close an not being able to win a title.

Do you guys blame Calipari for not calling a TO?
I don't, it would of given Kansas a chance to set up a play. Yes, they could of fouled, but I think you could of still gotten that point across with giving Self a chance to set something up.

Do you blame free throw shooting? OK, stupid question, I'll move on.

After Rose made his 2nd free throw and Kansas was bringing the ball up the floor, did anyone else notice the huge palm/carry/travel their guard did in the backcourt. He carried the ball big time, but I've not heard it mentioned by anyone. I know, let them play the game, but it did get him an advantage. My Hoosiers got called for that twice in their blowout loss to Arkansas in round one, and they weren't nearly as bad as the one by Kansas.

I'm not a Memphis fan, but was cheering for them last night...so Tiger fans, you have my sympathies!

i have checked this site several times today and am not getting anything new. Then I go to another team's site and see that the mock draft is still going and that the Titans had picked. Is anyone else in the twilight zone or is it just me? Jimmy's pick was Thomas from Michigan State. I really don't know a lot about him. With Sweed and Jackson gone, I guess it was Thomas (although I prefer Hardy!)

He would be a good pickup. He is a solid kick returner....last time I checked, we could use one!

Also (just filling in space), what are the vikings going to do with Chester Taylor? This guy is good, and could be a 1200 yard rusher somewhere easily! If he comes available...would love to see the Titans make a run at him.

I don't even know what to think of this!

In a nutshell....Adam Jones was asked a few months ago about where he hoped to be in 2-3 years and he said hopefully not Tennessee. What? Are you kidding me? What?

I am completely angered by this. I really hoped that he would come back and play and be a Titan. It was obvious with his absence this year that he is a player the team needs....but if he doesn't want to be there, then fine...go away....leave....go to a strip club....do something illegal....get arrested....get kicked out of the league.....just SHUT UP!

I tried this last week and didn't get a good response, but I'm superstitious so here it is again. What do we honestly think will happen with this weeks game? Here's mine:

The Titans win the toss, go 3 and out. The Chargers march down the field with LT and hit Chambers for a score to go up 7-0. After the teams share failed drives, the Chargers will force a turnover and kick a FG to go up 10-0 after one.

In the 2nd, the Titans will kick a FG at the 10 minute mark, but give up a big reception by LT and will trail 17-3 at the half.

The 3rd Quarter the Titans will kick another FG and trail 17-6 heading into the 4th.

An early Chargers TD in the 4th puts the game out of reach. The Titans will score and convert the 2 point conversion...but will lose the game 24-14. I hope I am wrong, but the Chargers are tough, the Titans don't play well out there, and the injuries are piling up. I would LOVE to get a win, but I think this season will be a great stepping stone for the franchise.

Let's here what you think--Dannoe, White, Gramsey, BBB, Hook 'em, JoyKat, nvemp?, and of course, Jimmy (and anyone else)

He has a lacerated liver. I guess now we know why Petrowski was signed. I hope Ben Troupe can step up. There has been a lot of discussion on a draft pick. There is a stud tight end from Oklahoma State that would look good in a Titans uniform. Troupe has been a disappointment, Hartsock and Petrowski are unknown/untested/unproven. The guy from OSU is a very good blocker and has great hands...just a thought.
