Kind of what August said. The Titans have offered a second round pick and a player (not named) for Boldin. The Cardinals have given permission to the Titans to talk with Drew Rosenhaus. This would be unbelievable friends. We need to do this. I hope it is White too. Come on Mikey.....MAKE IT HAPPEN! I have a little room to fill, does anyone think there is any chance the Titans will be able to get Pettigrew from OkSt.?

is all fun, but we are all fooling ourselves. Here's what is going to happen:

The commissioner will walk up to the podium and say, "with the 30th selection of the 2009 NFL draft, the Tennessee Titans select "insert name".

Everyone will be like, "wow", or "I didn't see that one coming", or "who?".

Then we will spend the next couple of weeks complaining about our frustration with the teams lack of improvement during the offseason. We will point to what other teams are doing and question why the Titans aren't doing those things.

Then the season will come around, the team will win more games that any of us thought and "insert name" will end up being a stud.

This is exactly what has happened the past two seasons, I wouldn't mind being happy about the pick...but before it happens, just remember Michael Griffin and Chris Johnson.

Tennessee Titans to Play in the Hall of Fame Game

The NFL announced today that the Titans and Bills will play in the Hall of Fame game next season and will wear uniforms from the old AFL days. This means the Titans will get a 5th preseason game.

5 preseason games scare me. I'm always worried about an injury, however it will be nice to have a nationally televised game to start the year off. i am pretty sure training camp will start earlier too. It should be interesting with a lot of Bills fans since Ralph Wilson and Bruce Smith are going to be inducted.

This is the first time I have actually been able to look toward next season. The Ravens game was 3 weeks ago today and I am still crushed. We very easily could be playing tomorrow for all of the marbles. I'm enjoying the player reviews and hey, let's lay off Alge Crumpler. His fumble really only cost us points (crap, we would of won with 4 more points). But we did get a FG off the field position. It was all of the mistakes....ughhh, I have to stop thinking about it now.

Hey, as painful as it is to lose to the Ravens in this round again...I do want to congratulate those of you that are loyal fans of the team. It has to feel so nice to be the 6 seed and to be moving on to the AFC Championship game. I'm not going to lie to you all, I do not like the Ravens at all. I'm still not over Brian Billick and all of his smugness. I do like Harbaugh though. Anyway, your team made the plays when they had to and that's what it takes to win in the NFL. Congrats again.

Our Image....

The more I see and read, the more it seems that the Titans have a pretty poor image. After the Texans game, I heard of some Houston fans saying how classless the players were in defeat. Then there was obviously the terrible towel situation with Pittsburgh, and now Carolina's RB's going nuts over Lendale White.

How are the Titans viewed by the average NFL fans? I know Colts and Texan fans have a general dislike which is understandable. But what about everyone else? Does the average fan think of us as "thugs" or "punks"? Are we hated like a lot of teams hate the Patriots? Does the average fan want us to lose? How much (if any) does Adam Jones have to do with our image. Is the negativity because we are good?

It's a slow week and I have been thinking about this stuff a little, I just I would get all of your thoughts.

OT- Yankees and Happy Holidays

I know many of us are baseball fans so I thought I would escape the towel talk to bring up the Yankees. Are they just ruining all of fun of the Hot Stove League or what? It is ridiculous how they are allowed to operate and can buy whomever they want. Now I know they haven't won anything for a few years, but what they have done this offseason is probably going to change that. Baseball has to do something to fix this. It has to start with the players union. I don't blame to the team for doing it, they are just doing what they are allowed.

Also, I hope everyone has a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Spend some time with your families and take a couple of stress free football weeks and enjoy it. Hopefully, the biggest gift from the Titans is yet to come!

Dear Houston Fans,

Congrats on a huge win yesterday. I live in Illinois and was an Oiler fan before they left. I loved watching Warren Moon and company in the baby blues. My college graduation present was a flight to Houston to the Astrodome to watch the OIlers beat the Steelers in 1996. It was their last win Houston as the Oilers. Anyway, I'm sure many of you hate the Titans and that is understandable. That has to make this win even more sweet. For me, the move to Nashville was great, now they are just a 4 hour drive from home. Our division is tough and it is just going to get tougher next year because you guys are GOOD. People can blame Fisher for not kicking the FG or whatever, but the fact is we still could of stopped you. Slaton was awesome on that last drive and Johnson is just plain awesome! Congrats again, I hope you win out and finish 9-7. See ya next season!

I've always wanted to say that, it is acutally from this web site:

http://www.jt-sw.com/football/boxes

After hearing the stat a few times about Fisher's two losses when leading going into the 4th, I wondered what they were. I asked during the game, I guessed one and Zackkman guessed another. Well, believe it or not, we were correct. The Titans lost a game to Cleveland in week 3 of the 2002 season. They lost 31-28 in OT after leading 21-14 heading into the 4th quarter and 28-14 with 3:35 left in the game. I thought Cleveland had returned a punt late to tie it, but that had happened in the 3rd quarter.

The other was week 5 of 2006 against the Colts. The Titans led 13-7 after 3 quarters, but lost 14-13. I'm pretty sure most of us remember that game. That's a pretty cool site to go to to look up old games.

By the way, I hope everything is fine with Jimmy. We didn't hear anything from him for most of the 2nd half, and no recap.

10-0 friends, who would of thought????

Thoughts From The Upper Deck

Back from Chicago and relieved to be 9-0. What a sloppy first half that was. The Bears had 9 men in the box on several occasions. We had guys running open all over the field all day long. Collins had plenty of time to throw and plenty of options to throw to. There were several times I though he would dump it off to an open Bongo underneath, but would then throw it to an even more open receiver down the field. The 2nd half was better, but I wish we would of put them away. We have got to quit throwing behind the line of scrimmage on 3rd and short!

Soldier Field is a neat place to see a game. It was cold and windy and there were flurries throughout the game. Bears fans are very knowledgeable and they will turn on their own in a heartbeat. Grossman was not good for most of the day, but he was getting booed on every incomplete pass. Bears fans aren't the nicest in the world. I wasn't sure how I would be greeted so the only Titans clothing I had visible was my stocking camp. Neverthless I was referred to as a part of the female anatomy many times. The peoople around me were cool though and by the end of the game they were asking lots of questions about the Titans. One Titans fan walked up holding a sign that said 9-0 and was talking trash. He was literally having stuff thrown at him. He was about 15 rows above me, he was escorted out by security in the 3rd quarter.

Listening to the radio on the way there and back was entertaining. The sports talk people were ripping on Collins before the game saying he can't throw for 200 yards. I kept telling my brother it's not that he can't, it's just that he hasn't had to. The way home was nothing but praise for Collins and an all out ripping of the Bears seconary. They didn't seem to get that when you load up the box, guys are going to be open. It happened time and time again.

Warm ups were disappointing. I like getting there early and watching everything. VY looked horrible with his passes. He was overthrowing guys on almost every pass. Now I know that it is pregame warmup and it has to be tough when you know you aren't starting, but his passes were not good. He threw behind Hawk on an out route and threw the ball 5 yards of bounds on a sideline route to Crumpler. He did hit Gage on a deep ball, but Gage (who actually caught it), had to slow down. I was just hoping he would of looked sharper than that.

Anyway, it was a good time, I'm glad to see a win and now the Titans have to focus on Jacksonville. I know this is more of a baseball thing, but our "magic number" for the division is 4 and for the AFC it is 5!

Go Titans!
