Off Day time fillers

The finger lashing I received from NYRoyal about casual fans viewing/listening of the world series got me thinking about what RR folks do on off days.  I'm probably going to listen to either cleveland/NY or Stl/chicago.... my best friend is a STL guy, so it's handy to occasionaly view one of their silly pitchers hitting games, but what non-Royals game do you find most interesting today?

three more words.

not encouraging any shennaigans, just liked the part he wrote at the top.

"...8,000 cold Kansas City residents were chanting "Let's go, Royals!" And they meant it. They were watching their boys eviscerate the presumptive divisional favorites, and they felt a sea change."

WBC: WTF?

While I've got a pretty good read on NYRoyal's take on the WBC, what does everyone else think about it?  Is this a fantastic PR tool to increase worldwide reception on MLB, increasing it's fanbase and recuritment spectrum or just a distraction from team building during spring training?  It may be a tad off topic, but with nine royals playing, I thought I'd ask people who know far, far more about baseball than me.

Lineup awesomeness

my buddies and i spoke on the phone at the lineup last night.... is anyone else impressed with the way Hillmoney is handling the DH/1B situation?  I've been really nervous about Olivo, but him and Buck both in the lineup rocks!  Pardon my unbridled enthusiasm, i'm just hyped about this development.

i'd kinda like to see TPJ in the 9 hole like a pitcher in the NL.

anyone care to guess tonights lineups?

Teahen

Buck

A few Stats from last night

imagine my surprise when my row 'E' seats in section 135 turned out to be on the railing! it was pretty awesome, we were probably 15 yards from the foul pole, good sight lines, i could have spit and hit matsuki.... if it weren't raining for eight innings with the wind in our faces. now, on to the promised stats. Royals-4 Yankees-0 Rain-2 Cellphones-0 parking-1 grantfunk-0 yup. two phones in less than 5 innings. awesome! also fun, i took a quick bathroom break to warm up and missed Bucks fountain shot. grrrrrr seriously, i looked at the website, discussed it with my friend and tried really, really hard to park in the right place. i failed. it was like insult to injury to have to walk all the way back to my crappy parking job in the rain. all that aside, pretty sweet game to watch live, that scoreboard is insane, i really like the one in the RF wall, it's handy. i'm glad Greinke had a good night, the moments with several runners was scarry, but it worked out well and i'm hopefull for bale tonight. did the radio/tv give everyone else the scoop on the pitching change? we didn't get it until just before the start of play. Sorry for the disjointed post, i'm a bit tired from my late/cold/wet night and extra long commute this AM (i stayed with a buddy in KC then drove straight in), i just wanted to express my desire for both more wins and a ziplock bag for all future games. I'm glad to keep sacrifice a cell phone (only 13 months to a free upgrade!) for a series win. lets go blue!

Rany on the Royals

A few years ago, I came up with what I like to call Jazayerli’s Law of Fundamentals, which states: "A team's ability to execute the "fundamentals" is inversely correlated to the time spent discussing the importance of executing them."

if you aren't reading Rany Jazayerli's Blog, you're missing out. i really liked this jab.
