The closeness of this team is only rivaled by the last SB team. (BB said it himself).

The LB squad is funny as hell, and I've never seen this side of Silverback. He is pretty proud of those guns he has.

Tomlin over Cowher??

How much do you think Cowher would have gotten out of this "patched up" team? Do you think he would have T. Carter, W. Gay, O. Roye, Eason, Stapleton, Starks, Spaeth, on and on and on....playing at such a high level? At 7-3?

Or is Tomlin doing a much better job? And by-the-way, we probably wouldn't have MM if cowher was in command. I know that coach Cowher got the most out of his teams, but this may be too much. Your thoughts -

OH NO Woodley game time decision

This is from the Post Gazette

Outside linebacker LaMarr Woodley, who didn't practice all week because of a right calf injury, said he will be a game-day decision. Woodley had a big game with five tackles and two sacks against Washington on Monday night. He is second on the team with 9.5 sacks. "I played pretty good (against the Redskins)," he said. "But you've got to be smart about it. Sometimes going out there playing on an injury, you cause more (damage) to it. Instead of missing one game, you miss four or five games down the stretch.'' Lawrence Timmons practiced in Woodley's spot this week and will make his first NFL start if Woodley doesn't play.

That really hurts our pass rush. Now they will double -up on Harrison. Maybe we will see some of our late season to playoff type blitzes a little early to keep Manning from picking us apart. Not sure if the Colts are worthy, but they can wake-up to be a force again, and that means this game is playoff positioning.

What do u think?

Just read that Ben could become only the 5th QB since the merger to throw for TD passes of 48 yards or more in 4 consecutive games if he does it Monday. He hit Nate for a 48t, 50t, and 65t in past three.

The other 4 quarterbacks are Dan Pastorini, Steve Bartkowski, Danny White, and Warren Moon.

AND, if he hits Nate again, that will be a first for the same QB to WR combo..Nice

Just letting you all know there's a new Steelers Super Bowl Victories DVD set out. Think it came out 2 or 3 weeks ago. Has five disks - one for every SB victory. Shows the whole game, no commercials. The first couple are very poor quality, but a great addition to your collection! Awesome watching that steel curtain back in the day!! Around $17.00.

For the sake of getting that 75 word thing in.

Backing up my BA adjustment call during last game..

Hello all. I had recently join the site (with my 1st comment about BA adjusting at the half of last game).

Well, I would like to quickly tell you a little about myself, my knowledge about the team, and defend my 1st comment.

I grew up here in western PA, about 2 hrs from the Burgh, spent 8 yrs in the military (which gave me a real appreciation of reading every article I could find about the Steelers - I still do every day on and off season), I have little writing skills, and I dress all 4 of my kids up in Steeler gear before every game.

Now, I believe that Bruce is a good coordinator. Not a great one, but above average. He's mentored one of the games all time greats (Manning--no, not Eli), and Tomlin chose him. I really believe coach Tomlin is very peculiar in everything he does!

But, I watch our offense and am puzzled with how ineffective we are given our talent. 25th RANKED OFFENSE!!! I've read our in-game posts for awhile, and always hear at least twice per game THROW THE BALL BEN,, GET RID OF THE BALL BEN!! Maybe the big one can't grasp progression as well as other QB's? He really does have the time. Maybe he does hold on to the ball too long to make the big play? Does anyone really want to get hit that many times? And does the coach really want his franchise player get hit that many times? NO! Ben has been taught WR progression, and he does want to get the ball out before losing 5,6,7,10 yds for his team.

The problem is the play calling. How many outlets do you see Ben having? It always seems, (and I think I've heard him say) Ben, look for the long ball first. THERE'S a couple seconds. Then progress downward. Too much time for a play to materialize. I know, I know, Ben has a say in the play call. He thinks he can take the hits (he likes the attention...accept that...he got drafted in the same draft as the big market Eli and Philip...oh, and he has Romo to battle with).

Watch Kerry Collins, Drew Breese, Eli, Rivers, Romo play, and you will always see some sort of outlet and quick passes (that are not always slants!) and you will see an effective offense and highly touted QB's!!
