10 reasons why it is better to be an A's fan than a Giants fan

With all the negative things happening around the A's, the Haren and Swisher trades, the not so clear move to Fremont, now is the time to keep up the positive side of things and why it is better to be a fan of the A's than the team across the bay.

Reason 10: We have a future. The Giants don't have any solid prospects and instead keep signing a bunch of has-beens every year.

Reason 9: We have a better public address announcer. Roy is much better than Renel every day of the week. For the one time i go to AT&T Park, i cringe every time i hear Renel's voice.

Reason 8: A's games are affordable. You don't have to worry about mortgaging your house when going to an A's game.

Reason 7: Double-play Wednesdays. $2 for a seat is ridiculously cheap for a Major League ticket. In addition, the A's have all-you-can-eat seating for 2008 (just saw it one the A's site). So when your Giants fan friend of yours has to pay $10 for a drink, you can just laugh at him.

Reason 6: Ken Korach. Is far better than Kruk and Kuip and doesn't need cheap gimmicks to call a great ballgame.

Reason 5: Our stadium can keep its name for more than 5 years.

Reason 4: Billy Beane. He produces better teams than the Giants do with half the salary. Has there even been a book written about Brian Sabean? I think not.

Reason 3: Best fans in baseball. Rain or shine, A's fans will always be there for their team. The biggest things most people at Giants game will get worked up about is how their company did within the last 10 minutes.

Reason 2: 9 Championships > 5 championships (and the last one was in 1954!)

Reason 1: 1989. enough said.

i was reading the most current issue of Athletics Magazine (the one with Blanton on the cover) and somewhere it was mentioned that the a's will have new alternate uniforms for 2008. i think it was in the article on how the the a's clubhouse works and the steve vucinich was showing swish and chavy what it would look like. did anyone else here about this, or i am the only one?

OT: Earthquakes back to SJ

For those that haven't heard, the Earthquakes are coming back to san jose. the ownership group is headed by lew wolff. supposedly the quakes are supposed to play around 15 games at the coliseum. i am very excited that quakes are coming back, they were entertaining and didn't cost much to see a game. i do feel bad for the people who have to do the scheduling for the team since they have to share the stadium with the a's.
