This has to be the year
Well kind of. After reading the ESPN report now at the top of the headlines list on ESPN.com that USC, after the NCAA releases their findings on their investigation, potentially could lose scholarships, be banned from postseason play for two years, and will at least have all of it's wins from the 2004 season forfeited, Cal fans must rejoice. It is only speculation at this point but let's just say it's true. OK maybe we should refrain from basking in the misery of another athletic program but one has to admit, they've had coming for sometime. But push that rejoicing aside because if this information that ESPN is reporting is true, Cal's 2010 season is suddenly cast in an entirely new light.
Canfield in the nfl
Hey Beavs fans, I'm a college and pro football enthusiast and I'm wondering what you guys think of Sean Canfield and his chances of getting drafted in the upcoming NFL draft. I personally believe that he will definitely get drafted and could possibly be a middle round pick (3-5). Just comparing his stats , especially that startling completion percentage, to his predecessors who were drafted, Derek Anderson and Matt Moore who both got drafted anyone would come to the logical conclusion that he would get drafted because his numbers are better. But I haven't seen too much of him and I wonder if his stats are enhanced by the fact that he has some really good playmakers around him who can get a lot of yac. Just looking at him physically he has good size and a good arm ( obviously accurate ), has good, quick footwork which enables him to throw well on the run. But does he have an accurate enough arm to throw 15-20 yards down field to streaking NFL receiver? Well I'll leave you guys to discuss his possiblities at a pro career.
How to help Nellie Ball
Hello GSoMer's newcomer here and I would like to share my thoughts on my favorite basketball team. I do support Nellie, more or less because of the success is has brought to this team, the first of which we've experienced in a long time. I think the way he allows this team to play is fine but I would only make the suggestion to get us in the playoffs soon. If we are going to play a fast-paced style we need athletic big men and big guards. we obviously have some skinny athletic big men already which i think are perfect. We could probably add to the depth there, but we need some big guard that can handle, penetrate, and distribute. The guards also need to be defensively active with the willingness to pressure to opponent's ballhandler and force turnovers. Guards also that are big and can help in our overall team rebounding effort because bigs are to skinny. I can't think of any guard in our team that does all of these, but granted that's asking for a lot. I just want the warriors to consider someone in the draft that does some of these things and isn't necessarily a prolific scorer maybe a Terrence Williams or a Tyreke Evans or perhaps a James Harden. I'm not saying these guys are the absolute solution but they do show some of the characteristics I'm talking about. I know some people think we already have enough guards but i think we have too much of the same type of score-first guards and find some passing, defending, and rebounding guards to take us to the next level. What do guys think?
Rotation coming together
On the heels of Vin Mazzaro's strong ml debut, I feel a lot of excitement when I look at this team. This rotation is as young as it gets but there is a lot of talent and ability there. And through the first two months of the season several of the young starters have shown this talent, emphasis on Cahill and Outman. Braden is the lone "veteran" who has done a great job of bringing stability to a rocky season thus far and I even feel that Anderson will be pretty good, even though he's been the shakiest of the starters. I say give this season one more month and if the offense continues to struggle and the team can't get back in it, set your sights on the progress of the rotation because I think the future is pretty bright with these kids.
