Maximizing Runs, A Long-Term Approach
Although it is rare, every AN reader can agree that the '10 A's may struggle to score runs. I have convinced myself that simply applying one rule of strategy can have an unlimited impact on any given game.

Real OPS
Counterintuitively, it's been difficult to express the magnitude of the upgrade that is O-Cab for Crosby. Many remained skeptical even after hearing about, or being reminded of, his two Gold Gloves and two World Series rings. "He's not necessarily a numbers guy..." description by Eric Chavez resonated, but it seems not to be a problem with Orlando's stats, but a flaw in our important stat of OPS.
Stolen Bases remain an individual measurement, but should be included in calculations of Slugging Percentage, and consequently, OPS. I will conservatively subtract Caught Stealing instances from Stolen Bases for an Aggregate. Each use of "A" in stats means aggregate or +steals.
2008:
.334 OBP
245 TB + 13 ASB = 258 ATB / 661 AB = .390
.334 OBP + .390 ASLG = .724 AOPS
compared to .705, about 2.7 % improvement
Career:
.322 OBP
2379 TB + 139 ASB = 2518 ATB / 5962 AB = .422
.322 OBP + .422 ASLG = .744 AOPS
compared to . 721, about 3.2% better
Crosby's totals are meager and not as consistent as Cabreras, and do not affect his stats to the degree of significance(for me). Great find of an undervalued player.
