The Wisdom of Lou Holtz
From the BSU/Tulsa broadcast, while complaining about a ticky-tack call:
"It's like when you wanna bring a play gun to school and they won't let you because it's against the rules! Ridiculous!"
Unsubstantiated Rumor Mongering Thread
Sigh. Bye week. No real news, just a bunch of waiting. How, oh how, is the dedicated Duck fan going to remain occupied until the next game?
Hmm...I know!

NCAA hit with class action lawsuit
Making NCAA pay?
With all the recent conversation about NCAA 10, this story seems pretty timely:
...Tuesday in federal court in San Francisco, [Former UCLA Bruin, Ed] O’Bannon became the lead plaintiff in a class action lawsuit on behalf of all current and former Division I-A football and men’s basketball athletes against the NCAA. He’s represented by two of the nation’s most high-powered law firms – including one that secured reparations for Holocaust survivors from Swiss banks.
The complaint, obtained by Yahoo! Sports, alleges that the NCAA “has illegally deprived former student-athletes” from “myriad revenue streams” including DVDs, video games, memorabilia, photographs, television rebroadcasts and use in advertising.
I have bought into doing kickass uniforms for doing kickass uniforms' sake. This is what I think would kickass in 2011.

What is this?
via those dudes
I fear that the University of California: We Have A Mascot That In All Likelihood Drives A Windowless Van Offering Children Free Candy has hit upon some new secret weapon in recruiting, fundraising and/or training. This. Cannot. Stand. We must analyze this device to reveal it's true purpose, and be prepared to top it. My instinct says that this is a response to the wildly successful Roboduck, but I suspect it's something more devious than that.
Kellen Clemens
Interview with the Jets quarterbacks. I know it's just Duck-tinted glasses, but Kellen seems like the most mature out of the three. Watch the very end for Clemens' statement on what he thinks of the Jets' possibilities with him under center.
People can make fun of Oregon's unis all they want
But to my knowledge, we have never done anything as stupid as this.
Why did Roper get pulled?
The TV announcers stated that it was because he got his bell rung. I kinda doubted it--I suspected he didn't show much so Belotti pulled him--but I accepted it at face value, even though Roper seemed to be fine when he was talking to his parents on the sidelines.
But in this live blog by a Seattle PI reporter, she wrote during the third quarter that it was because of a hand injury.
Maybe just a mistake, but I get the feeling that while Costa may have been the #1, the battle for #2 wasn't really settled when he went down, and Roper was on a short leash. I just hope this doesn't lead to the coaches switching out QBs like Saturday night.
