ESPN Report: Randolph/Biedrins for Bosh Was On The Table!

According to alot of the beat writers, our Golden State Warriors are going to be active players in this year's trade deadline. Many of the writers such as Kawakami and Thompson have sources claiming we are going after some of the bigger names out there such as Bosh & Stoudemire and the Dubz are willing to part with either Ellis or Biedrins.

According to Rich Bucher of ESPN:

League sources say the Warriors offered rookie Anthony Randolph and veteran Andris Biedrins to the Toronto Raptors for Chris Bosh and while the Raptors were not interested, other sources say the Warriors are also taking a run at the Phoenix Suns' Amare Stoudemire, presumably with a similar offer.

This tells me a few things. One, we don't value Ellis and Biedrins like we used too and two, if that report is true, Don Nelson/Larry Riley are the ones in control of the teams basketball personel decisions ( since Mullin drafted Randolph, I'm assuming he wouldn't be the one to trade him).

I believe the Dubz will make more than one trade before the deadline and even though we may not end up with some of these players mentioned, you have to give it up to the Dubz for considering big names in the trade market.

To view the entire article, click here (It's in the Daily Dime located in the middle of the page)!

Aside from the obvious, which is defense and this guy:

Now that I think about it, I look back on the players we lost this past offseason and realized how much we miss them.

For example:

-Matt Barnes: Look @ him with the Suns now. He's providing them with energy, hustle, heart, and the toughness that our team seems to lack.

-Pietrus: Before he was injured, he was having his best season as a pro. Aside from his numbers, the one thing he always gave us was energy and toughness on the defensive side.

-Harrington: Even though I hate this guy right now, you have to admit that he has heart and is passionate about the game when he applies himself.

-B Diddy: Leadership....period point blank!

You guys remember when we started off 0-6 last year? We all realized we were better than that since we knew Capt Jack was coming back and I don't know about you, but I just had that "feeling" that we would be a really good team and we turned out to be a good team.

This team is YOUNG and is lacking the intangibles and yes, Ellis to the Rim will help, but at the same time, I don't have the same "feeling" I had last year when I knew the Dubz would make a push for the playoffs.

I'm as optimistic as you can get when it comes to our Dubz, but I'm realistic to understand we won't make the playoffs this year. As a fan, all we can do is understand who we are as a team and hope we see improvement from some of our youngsters.

And it smells like....

Something "Major" (thanx Posh Spice) is going down. Now, this diary is not about KG, nor do I have sources to support my gut feeling, but it does seem like Mully is up to something and here's why:

As most of you know, ever since Mully took over, the Warriors have been one of the most active teams on the trade market. They have kept everything to themselves and most of their moves were never forseen by many beatwriters and hardcore fans. From acquiring Davis, Jackson, Harrington and recently Wright, many of these moves were never mentioned in rumors and literally came out of nowhere. When Mully first came on board, we ALL knew that the Warriors needed a SuperStar and so what did he do?

He acquired Davis for a sandwich and some pickles on the side! When we knew "DunMurphy" weren't the answers to our playoff run and thought we would never be able to get rid of their contracts, Mully did exactly the opposite and pulled a rabbit out of his hat and traded both their contracts. When we thought we didn't have enough money to resign Ellis/Beidrins and needed help down low, Mully traded Richardson for Wright and the $10 Million TPE.

A lot of fans like myself are wondering why the Warriors are so 'quiet' during the offseason and many fans and national writers are criticizing the Warriors for their lack of movement during the free agency period. I can understand why they would be upset and criticized, but if you really take a look at how Mully and the Warriors operate, that's exactly what he wants and this is where my gut feeling comes to play. I can't imagine a better time for a 'big move' to happen within the next couple weeks with all the flexibility the Warriors have.

We know the Warriors need another big on the floor that can rebound, score in the low post and defend monsters such as Duncan and Boozer. We know that Davis has 2 years left on his contract and Nelly won't coach beyond this year and maybe next year unless he coaches a contender for the championship. And lastly, we all know Mully likes to operate under the radar and shock the basketball world.

So what does this all mean? Does this mean KG is coming to the Bay? Does this mean we're keeping our roster intact and just adding a few bigs down low who slightly improve our playoff chances? Who knows, but my gut feeling tells me something BIG is about to happen that will shock the Warriors Nation and we're all about to find out.

After writing this, maybe this diary is about KG ;) or maybe not!

What do you think?
