P&T Fantasy: Playoffs The End (My Path)-Congratulations to The Chair

Thanks to some extreme luck I managed to reach the end. Now on to each specific match up.

teksurgicals was absolutely dominant in the early part of the season. After an extremely hot start his team sustained massive injuries to big parts of his team and of course the late season injury to Rajon Rondo.

-The first round will be the round I'll remember as the week Wes Johnson went from total bust to not that terrible.

-The rebounding category was uncomfortably close thanks to Omer Asik (black hole of rebounds) having his first week of awful play in rebounding and on defense .

-J.J. Redick and Jeremy Lin played a piss poor week. Doing a lot of nothing in a lot of playtime for me.

-Thanks to Tobias Harris (yep, lucky pick-up) and the beginning of Ricky Rubio's hot streak I was kept afloat.

-Kemba Walker, Tim Duncan, and Carmelo Anthony were rolling for for teksurgicals. I like to remind everyone that Wes Johnson (his 3s, why didn't he do any of that consistently for Minny) decided this week he was going to stop sucking at a 100% rate and started hitting some shots,

-This week was the week before Melo went into his MVP mode. Even so he was pretty dominant. While scoring a lot of points he was also using a lot of shots and missing a lot, managing to drag down teksurgicals fg% single handedly.

-As it usually does it came down to whether Melo could hit one more 3 on the Sunday late at night for the win. The Knicks were blowing out the Boston Celtics granting Melo well deserved rest. As such the match ended in a tie. But thanks to tie breakers (a win early in the season over teksurgicals) I moved on.

In the 2nd match up Raise Up for Pablo presented a match up I thought I probably would lose.

-I saw Deron Williams, Greivis Vasquez, Chandler Parsons and to a lesser extent Raymond Felton, Wesley Matthews plus Paul George. High scoring, poop making (3s), stealing all the balls, dishing assist left and right.

-Ricky Rubio always a double digit assist machine, stole every ball that came his way.

-Jeremy Lin decided to catch on fire the whole week and J.J. Redick decided to be decent.

-Jeremy Lin and Ricky Rubio were 1 of 2 reasons why I was even competitive in the assist, steals, and 3s.

-Omer Asik, Zach Randolph, and Tobias Harris had a good week. Nikola Pekoivc had a dominant one.

-But a factor over shadowing everything else to who would have won this match up was the Chandler Parsons. Parsons is an integral part of the Rockets. He scores alot, hits lots of 3s, rebounds well, passes well, steals lots of balls, blocks shots every other game. He is for the most part the 2nd option for the Rockets behind James Harden most nights. Food poisoning costed him 1 game and an accidental kick to his calf by a team mate cost him several games. With Parsons out Jeremy Lin became the definite 2nd option and rack up the stats with a few more touches. As you can see Parsons would have been able to tip the assist, steals, and blocks even if he had a bad game every day by merely playing.

-Some might make an argument Paul George's bad games were more important to swinging the match up. I would argue he played and he played bad. Not everyone gets to be Melo and never have bad games. Melo is awesome and with a mostly healthy Tyson Chandler I foresee the finals.

-Don't even bother arguing Raymond Felton could have done better. He had broken hands this season and they are probably not even going to be fully healed till some extend rest in the off season. Melo is literally burning everything up along with JR Smith, the ball goes to those 2 and not our penguin with the hurt flippers. It's preferable this way anyway.

This match up should be pretty easy to explain why I might win. If I thought I had little hope of beating Raise Up for Pablo, I thought losing to The Chair was a sure thing. Then the most unpredictable thing in the NBA happened. Injuries!! I really wanted to use spoiler text for the word "injuries" but didn't see where it is and don't even know if it's even possible.

-The first injury that occurred was when Gallo (some of you may know him as our cock in his Knick days) took an awkward step with minor contact and his knee bent in ways a knee should never bend. Thus Gallo was done for the season. The Chair has him on his team, and I have Wilson Chandler on mine. Being similar players Wilson was stuck behind Gallo. Wilson was now free to take the starter minutes of Gallo. The Chair lost a really good player and my player got more play time to do what he does.

-The 2nd injury was to Brandon Jennings. Nothing as serious as Gallo. Just minor nagging achilles problems. It did knock Jennings out after he had an amazing performance. He never came back. As with the above I also have a player stuck behind Jennings for minutes, J.J. Redick. With Jennings off for precautionary measures, J.J. Redick got more playtime and way more touches. While he was still kind of off shooting wise, the increase in touches allowed him to get more 3s. It also allowed him to handle the ball more leading to assist.

-Hahaha!! You would think my luck ends here, but no. The 3rd injury to come about was to Anthony Davis the unibrow. Sprained MCL and bruised bone, nothing serious but the Hornets were not taking any chances with their future star building block. As with the above two I have a player stuck competing with unibrow for minutes. Robin Lopez. He seems much improved from his years on the Suns. When given minutes (which he competes with Ryan Anderson and Unibrow for) he produces blocks, competent defense (way better than his twin on the Nets), scoring touch (not as good as his twin), and rebounds. He's an NBA quality center who looks funny but is in a situation where the future doesn't involve him, but the unibrow. Another minus for my opponent and plus for me.

-Carlos Delfino resident veteran 3 point shooter for the Rockets. Primary bench scorer. He has an illness, no idea what it is, maybe it's more bad sausage served up by his good friend Manu Ginobili. Some parts nagging old people injuries. Who knows. I bet it's Manu Ginobili's sausages. With Parsons still hobbled and out, this gave Jeremy Lin and Omer Asik more play time and touches. Delfino would have certainly won the 3s category. He shoots basically nothing but 3s unless he's trying to create off his dribble, sometimes he get dunks. Because the Rockets powerfowards are all super inexperienced and inconsistent Delfino usually has to play pf.

-Byron Mullens is injured. But it wasn't really worth mentioning since he has been playing really bad since returning from injury. Clearly he hasn't healed yet and probably won't till next season. Way too hurt to play.

-Even benefiting from all those injuries, one thing still wouldn't go away. Freaking Kobe playing nearly 48 minutes a game as he tried to drag the Lakers into the playoffs was single handedly winning the match up for The Chair. His steals, blocks, 3s, points, FTs, there was just nothing that could have been done about it. Then Kobe's knee gave in the 3rd quarter. I have no doubt he would have gotten tons of FTs (make them all of course), 3s, points in general, and then score like 60 or something on the Spurs tonight.

The computer auto picked my people past round 5. Here is what I set the priority for.

Yep. I set the computer to take Jeremy Lin first. I would had no chance at any of the good people anyway. In the first round I got the 20th pick. This is the original line up auto picked for me by the computer.

I also follow the Wolves and Rockets. So i was hoping to assemble a team full of Knicks, Rockets and Wolves. Former, present, and maybe future. I tried acquiring them through waivers.

-Alexy Shved was on a tear in the first half of the season, and after the all star break and an injury he hit the rookie wall. He hit it so hard I think he broke both his hands. His shooting has fell off a bottomless pit.

-I had Kenyon Martin, but his oldness broke him.

-I had Marcus Morris but he was just too inconsistent and his playtime was also inconsistent.

-I stopped trying to collect them when I noticed having my team constructed of only players from 3 teams was a really bad idea. I would rather not list and explain every player I took. Unless if asked.

-I placed Jeremy Lin #1 because of Linsanity, I bet no one thought that was going to happen especially off his surgery. Had a really rough first few months as he came back from his injury. Didn't have the legs for lay ups and his shot was way off, but in the last 2 months it seems he has finally recovered fully.

-I knew Nikola Pekovic is a beast. He likes meat. Some nagging injuries slowed him in the middle and near the end of the season. While some might say because Kevin Love was out for the season it should have helped Pekovic, I think other wise. They occupied different spaces on the floor, and after Love was out teams no longer had to care about Love and could focus their defensive attention on the man beast Pekovic.

-Ricky Rubio, worth the wait. I saw what he did last year before Kobe took out his knee and it was awesome to have a unicorn on the team.

-I really felt this could have been Jordan Hill's breakout year, it's too bad his season ended when he had the perfect chance to show off his skills on a depleted Lakers squad.

I think Landry Fields deserve some love! Has great knack for rebounding and stuff, his shooting is still broken. He's getting buried on the bench behind Rudy Gay. He's basically Ronnie Brewer but way better and equally sucks at shooting. What is Toronto thinking? They're crazy.
