The Injury Clinic
is the coolest friggin thing I've ever seen in a sports blog.
Please don't kill me: Trojan fans, read this.
I run the guttylittlebruins.com website. No, I'm not here to insult you. I actually want some feedback.
I wrote an article on my website and from the data I've gleaned, I, as objectively as a bruin fan could be (which may not be too objective at all) think USC is pretty screwed.
I haven't heard the other side. Am I wrong? Are you guys screwed? Am I missing something important? If i missed something I want to edit the article and make a note of these counterpoints.
Dorrell and Football Recruiting Reflections
Coming into his fifth year, Dorrell's offensive recruiting has still been below what we expect, but one has to admit, UCLA has outdone itself every year since he has been here.
Howland the Prophet
Remember a few days ago when I said Malcolm lee was the #20 player in the country? and that Jerime Anderson was the #42 player in the country?
Howland lands 5 star Drew Gordon
From the diaries. The hits just keep coming from the best basketball coach in America. GO BRUINS. -N
Just a little while ago, Drew Gordon, the number #8 Power Forward and the twentieth ranked player in the class of 2008 committed to Howland and the Bruins. He's already a great player with fantastic potential.
Malcom Lee - five star player, # 3 ranked point guard, #19 player in the country
Drew Gorden - five star player, number #8 power forward, number #20 player in the ocuntry
Jerime Anderson - very high four star, number #5 point guard, number #42 player the country (not to mention that his stock is currently soaring.)
What a fantastic class...
Now that we got Drew, lets get Jrue...
Rumors: Collison, Shipp May Test NBA Waters
From Draft Express:
According to multiple sources we spoke with today, it's not only Arron Afflalo that UCLA will almost certainly be losing, despite his quotes just moments after their loss in the Final Four to Florida, but also the rest of their starting backcourt. Sophomores Darren Collison and Josh Shipp are both expected to put their names in the draft this year, without hiring an agent in order to preserve their college eligibility. Collison is on pace to graduate next year as a junior, but will take a look at where his stock lies in order to gauge whether he should come back and complete his degree.

Heart and Soul
Bumped. GO BRUINS - N
"I don't care how bad or good I've been playing, I'm going to find a way to get that ball at the end."
-Arron Afflalo, after the Oregon game.
Beautiful in so many ways.
Southern Cal Placekicker Danelo found dead
This is sad and shocking. Echoing blackjack our prayers and thoughts go out to the Danelo family and friends. -N
From ESPN:
The body was reported by a passer-by at about 4:30 p.m., said Martha Garcia of the Los Angeles Police Department.
Danelo, the 21-year-old son of former NFL kicker Joe Danelo, made 15 of 16 field goals this season and led the Trojans in scoring with 89 points. The junior made two field goals in the Rose Bowl on Monday to help USC beat Michigan 32-18.
Totally sucks. He was an ace kicker and seemed like a really nice kid. Thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends.
This made my Christmas extra merry...
Bumped from the diaries. Click on the image for the larger/original shot - N
So I'm taking a stroll with my family in Newport Beach and for once, I'm not thinking about UCLA sports, just enjoying the time with the fam and being thankful for all my blessings...
Then I saw this.
ahhhhh. i love it. Merry Christmas/Happy Holidays to all!
Rad piece on ced bozeman...
From the OC Register:
When you're a hotshot high school basketball star recognized as a McDonald's All-American and two-time CIF Player of the Year, a lot of people talk to you about when you'll be in the NBA.Those simple, glory days at Mater Dei were long gone by last year for Cedric Bozeman, when he was having far different conversations. These were the incredibly awkward kind, where it starts out as just chit-chat, but one person winds up wondering from what planet the other is. They were the sort where one person walks away feeling a little embarrassed, and the other leaves feeling a lot sorry for how embarrassed that visitor from another planet should be.
Bozeman was the oblivious alien visitor more than once when he would say he still hoped to play in the NBA.
"Nobody really expected anything from me after UCLA," Bozeman said. "I would get a lot of people asking me, 'So what are you going to do after you leave here?' I'd say, 'I'm going to try and play basketball.'
"The first thing they would say is: 'Oh. Are you going overseas? What are you going to do?'
"It was never: 'Ced, you're going to be in the NBA.'"
Just imagine if the conversations ever got far enough for Bozeman to say the other honest words: "I didn't have a Plan B."
Yet against all odds, after all the injuries, at the end of a ride that was pretty much a rainbow turned upside down, Bozeman is in the NBA.
Dorrell and Progress
Now that I look at the last two games, im beginning to realize what big steps the program has made...
N, I think we need a new "BN Section"
Just for this day, at least for a while. Yeah it's one game, but when has a game like this NOT been a turning point for a program? Look what happened to SC's program after SC ended the 8 game streak. I just can't get sick of this :)
Cowan to start, Olson the starter
So around 6 weeks after the injury, Dorrell finally says even though Olson probably won't start this week in Tempe, He will start when he's healthy.
Bruin Blue Board
wussup fools. haven't posted in a while but this kinda woke me up.
No revenge? 52-14 all over the acosta center (link)
Found this link from a premium board on scout.com...
Dear A, M, and N
When you were all going after Dorrell (in what was in my opinion) prematurely, I criticized you guys for jumping the gun, for being way too critical of Dorrell, for being too negative. And I said if Dorrell blew the washington game I would be the first one to apologize.
kelvin kim transferred?
Not exactly sure if he transferred but
another olson mention on espn
good early returns, they say...
dorrell replacements
Say Dorrell gets canned. Who are some serious viable candidates to replace him? Lemme hear some.
sick of all the anti-dorrell *******
We have one close game, a game that we WON and the first thing BN does is put up a picture of Dorrell looking retarded.
A papadakis goes to UCLA
i was cruisin facebook when i noticed a friend of a friend's last name looked a lot like papadakis. in fact it was. she's gotta be either petros' cousin or sister. I was thinking of looking it up, but then i realized that's kinda pretty fuckin' creepy. anyways, it could explain why Petros has been nicer to UCLA?
