There were many here who thought the Ricketts should purchase some of the real estate on Sheffield and Waveland. It appears that the Ricketts are taking a small step toward that.

Ben Reiter from si.com suggests in his list of free agents and where they would fit, that Rick Ankiel would be a good fit for the Cubs CF opening. It seems to be that this would be a relatively cheap, low risk, high reward situation for the Cubs.

Ankiel is a lefty, plays good defense in CF (from what I can tell), and has the potential to hit for a fair amount of power. What do you all think?

The question, is Joe Mauer's action cheating? I don't think so.

I am not sure what I think about this. I suppose anything that will help get the deal done is a good thing. There is some implication that in return for their investment, these celebs would get some "perks." I wonder what perks Ricketts could offer that they don't already enjoy.

There are a lot of people on this site who spend a lot of time in the Wrigley Field bleachers. Are some of the fans out there really as bad as this article implies? Are there really that many racial slurs shouted at the African-American players? What happens to the fans that shout the racial slurs?

This article surprised me. I knew Jacque had it bad, but I did not realize that it was this bad.
