I attended UT between 1963, 64 and 1966-1968. I graduated BBA in 1968. I started the University SCUBA Club in 1964. Back then we called it UTS & SDS (Univerisity of Texas Skin and SCUBA Diving Society. The Feds made us change it because of the confusion with SDS.
I have been a photographer since 1969 and have written free lance. I am a historian of Texas and San Antonio history. My specialty is the saloon era and the theatres of San Antonio.
I am a member of the SRT (Sons of the Republic of Texas).
I am also an avid fan of Texas football fan. I went to high school with Tommy Nobis, Hix Green, Phil Harris and David Sims in the early 1960's, Thomas Jefferson high School in San Antonio.
I lived in St. Louis metro for 7 years and was involved with St. Louis chapter UT Alumni Assoc.
I also build web sites and forums on the internet.

Computers not nice to Texas!
We're still third, no thanks to the computer rankings which have us 6th. But the Coaches and Harris Polls keep us at 3rd. I've been waiting all day to see how the computers would treat Texas. Last year the computers seemed to really like Texas when the other polls were down on us. It looks like they flipped this year.
| 3 | Texas Longhorns | 6-0 | 3 | 2,661 Harris Poll(3) | .9337 | 3 | 1,386 Coaches Poll(3) | .9397 computer rankings (6) | .8000 |

Super Bowl: Replay of UT games
I just finished watching the Super Bowl like the rest of you burntorange guys and gals and I watched a replay of UT and Texas Tech as well as UT-Ohio State games. Arizona had bad time management. They scored too early and were unable to protect their lead. The first half was reminiscent of Texas- Texas Tech game. If only they had not had the lapse on the goal line at the end of the first half they could have gone in and scored a touch down and taken a 14-10 half time or the least a 10-10 tie. No, they had to have a crazy interception that led to the Steelers scoring and making it a 17-7 halftime.
Instead of that last drive that led to a score with 2 minutes left they should have marched down and scored with 20 seconds left.
Oh well, Texas revisited!!
Is that Santonio Holmes related to Priest Holmes?
Southwest Conference much better than Big 12
Big 12 results so far:
Kansas 42, Minnesota 21
Nebraska 26, Clemson 21
Missouri 30, Northwestern 23 in OT
Oregon 42, Oklahoma State 31
Mississippi 47, Texas Tech 34
Texas 24, Ohio State 21
.667 Winning average
Southwest Conference ressults:
TCU 17, Boise State 16
Rice 38, Western Michigan 14
Houston 34, Air Force 28
Mississippi 47, Texas Tech 24
Texas 24, Ohio State 21
.800 Winning average
Let the numbers speak for themselves. The old Southwest Conference outplayed the Big 12 conference this year.

Texas vs. Alabama in Sugar Bowl
Support for Texas and Alabama game
Powers that be...MAKE IT HAPPEN!!
I've seen several blog sites and Fox News talking about a Texas and Alabama game in the Sugar Bowl. This would be sweet for both teams and coupled with Oklahoma and Florida in BCS game this would be nice revenge and help sooth the ill feelings at Texas. Whoever is in charge, whether it be ESPN or whoever, MAKE IT SO. Please...
STYLE POINTS (Running up the score)=UNSPORTSMANLIKE CONDUCT
I'm getting sick and tired of Stoops running up the score and then claiming the high ground. This is blatant unsportsmanlike conduct and teams and coaches that participate should be penalized for this behavior.
The University of Houston did this back in the 60's when they beat up on a poor team, 100-0 and were censored by the general public and other schools. Where is the shame today. We just label it "Style Points" and suddenly it is okay.
Bad behavior is NEVER OKAY!!
A Special Thank You To Coach Brown
I would like to take a moment to thank Coach Mack Brown and the University of Texas Football Team for producing a memorable 2008 football season. And here is hoping the team goes on and wins whichever post season game they are invited to. The team has been remarkable this year.
I would also like to make a suggestion for the 2009 season. I am hoping that Coach Brown and the Longhorns are not sucked into this hyperbole of posting 60 points and more for every game. I like the 52-10 games. My thought is that the team should win 11 games by 52-10 spread. However, when Texas plays Oklahoma next October, they break the rule and let's put up 70 points on the Sooners to 0. That's it, 70-0 and 11 games with 52-10. That has a nice even tone to it. Go Longhorns, 2009 National Champions.
News Flash
I got this as an email today and I thought I would share it:
NEWS FLASH
Texas A&M football practice was delayed nearly two hours yesterday after a player reported finding an unknown white powdery substance on the practice field. The coach, [Mike Sherman], immediately suspended practice while police and federal investigators were called to investigate. After a complete analysis, FBI forensic experts determined that the white substance unknown to the players was the goal line. Practice was resumed after special agents decided the team was unlikely to encounter the substance again.
