blah blah blah I'm some Purdue kid who basically only pays attention to the Colts.
...basically.
a fan of
Indiana Pacers
Indianapolis Colts

Second half of the draft all signed to contracts.
Harnish, Brazzill, Fugger, and Ballard have signed their rookie contracts, and, additionally, according to this link:
http://www.kffl.com/gnews.php?id=787394-colts---josh-chapman-agrees-to-terms
...so has Josh Chapman.
"The Indianapolis Colts have agreed to terms with fifth-round draft choice DT Josh Chapman on a four-year deal worth $2.315 million. The deal includes a signing bonus of $215,512."
Chapman's an interesting one, because while a whole lot of us have been assuming he'd be the frontrunner to start at nose tackle, we have to remember that he had surgery to repair his torn ACL on January 17th. He says he'd like to return by mid-June, but that's pretty soon for such major surgery. Either his tear was partial and wasn't particularly difficult to recover from, or he's being over-ambitious about returning to the game. Hopefully he wouldn't put his health at risk-- possibly re-injuring the knee-- by being too impatient.
Schefter: Colts cut Brandstater
Looks like Polian's mysterious love for Painter will propel him into the #2 QB slot this year.
Brett Favre is retiring! ...again!
What's the over/under on how long this one will last?
...but yeah, assuming that this is the time he commits to retirement, this definitely shakes up the NFC playoff picture. People anticipating/hoping for a Vikings/Colts super bowl might be disappointed.
Santonio Holmes traded to the Jets for 5th round pick
It's not Colts news, but it definitely affects the AFC picture.
If the Jets made it all the way to the AFCCG with... eh... Braylon Edwards... as the top WR, who knows how dangerous this team could be in 2010?
Caldwell: Sanders could play against Rams
I'm sure we all were thinking that he "could" play, but hearing Caldwell actually explicitly state that Sanders could make his debut is very assuring.
Running Game
It's been rather blatantly obvious for the past few weeks-- oh, who are we kidding-- the ENTIRE SEASON, that our rushing game has been a bit less effective than that of last year and of years past.
I mean, even with the Addai/Stonehands combo, we racked up around 1700 yards. Unless we magically manage to rush for about 600 yards against the Titans' D, it seems like we're likely to have quite a bit less than that.
It's demoralizing to constantly have to watch your team's running backs get runs of 1-3 yards... no one needs to remind me.
The question is... where does fault lie? Is this a fairly talented rushing attack that is merely suffering because the offensive line is completely inept at run blocking, or are Rhodes and Addai simply losing their touch?
...or, possibly something entirely different? Blame Dungy? Blame Polian? Blame aliens for stealing our team's talent in some sort of Space Jam-esque plot? I'm interested to hear this forum's thoughts...
