Are we screwed?
After the draft there was a lot of discussion about Pat White and the "hitch" he had in his throwing motion and some commented that he was "making a backwards pass" and how he would have to correct it to ever be effective at this level but when I saw this picture it reminded of those comments.
Of course this is said in jest it's just funny how people will pick apart one player but let others slide when they do the same thing.
JD Quinn signed
I can't stand Armando, but until the Herald realizes Matty is the man for that job I will have to go there from time to time for some info.
They must've really liked him a lot given all his past troubles but I know nothing about his abilities and/or versatility, he must have tremendous upside or they wouldn't go near him IMO..we'll see!
"A freak of nature!"
That's what "Shine" calls our very own Patrick Turner which doesn't surprise me after watching him layout for balls and/or contort his body to make a really tough catch when I watched some highlights of him before the draft.
I've seen many posts that say "this means nothing..wait until they put the pads on" but I've seen a lot of our younguns with pads on in highlights and you can bet that the Trio have watched countless hours of much better film than is available to me on our guys and it won't surprise me if 80% contribute rather quickly.
I like good players but if I have to settle for a freak of nature then so be it! :)

Orion Martin
I looked and didn't see any info on the DE from VT here so I thought I would post some for anyone who was curious.
He's 6-2 at 255 and he bench presses 400 pounds, runs a 4.52 40-yard dash and broke a 22-year old position record with a 39-inch vertical jump in the offseason and as a two year starter he has 163 tackles,15.5 sacks and 26.5 tackles for loss plus he's a good kid by all accounts.
I hope he will be a strong, fast and productive LB for us...are we loading up on LB's or what?
Future of the Wildcat
I've said in times past that the wildcat was implemented out of desperation because we simply couldn't move the ball the "traditional" way but that we would eventually be a smashmouth type of team because I watched BP use Otis Anderson to torture teams years ago and while the wildcat was used because we were having trouble on O,it looks like BP is a man who can and will adjust and change with the times if need be..
Last year I kept thinking "If RB could throw the ball better the wildcat would be UNSTOPPABLE" because every pass attempt out of the wildcat was wideopen, not a step or two on their man but WIDE OPEN because teams were pulling their Safety in the box leaving the middle of the field wide open and one on one on the outside and while I said I would like White in the 4th round or so,it may just turn out that he would've been a steal at the #25 slot.
They've said he can play multiple positions and that is true but the added dimension he brings to the wildcat has me thinking that he will be playing QB a lot.
I love a high powered Offense that can get up 3 scores on a team quick, make them one dimensional and give them a feeling of helplessness and the addition of White has me totally rethinking the smashmouth ball philosophy and where Henne fits in to all of this.
We all saw what the WC did to teams early on and it was quite successful when they knew it was coming but we now have a kid that can sling the ball from under center in the traditional way AND he can run the wildcat with the added threat of throwing it .
This is crazy genius from the Big Tuna and I can't wait for the season to start!
I've been awake 5 minutes so forgive me for errors and ramblings because Im sure there are many but I think this is an awesome pick for us.....what do you folks think?
How many years are we away from being a solid team?
IF you wasn't a homer BUT you knew everything about Miami that you know now,how many years away are we from being as solid as say N.E.,Pitt or any of the Top 5 teams?
Do you think we are fine at depth and are just a Cornerback and/or Henne starting and/or another pass rusher to compliment JP away or do you think we are several pieces away from being solid?
I Tried to attach a poll for this question but it just wouldn't happening for me because that's just how I roll evidently !

Sparano says no more shutdown corners
because of todays Offenses so wouldn't we be better off building the most dominate front 7 so the QB doesn't have the needed time to survey the field?
Everyone dreams of a Deion on one side and a Nnamdi on the other but I was wondering if one the stat guys here could compile a list of early pick hits and misses comparing CB's vs. Front 7 guys?
I know we have some stud WR's in our division but my thinking is that if you have a dominate front 7 that they not only stop the run but they also take a lot of pressure off of the DB's so they don't have to cover a guy for SO long thus making them in effect "better".
