Tuesday Morning Dawg Bites - "Wear A Sweater Day" Edition

A fine "Guten Morgen" to everyone in DawgNation this morning on a day that should be, but isn't, celebrated by the majority of red-blooded Americans. You see, today marks a significant day in the...

Georgia Swimmers & Divers Conclude Bulldog Last Chance Meet

The Georgia Men's and Women's Swimming & Diving teams finished out their home schedule at Gabrielsen Natatorium this weekend with the conclusion of the Bulldog Last Chance Meet. The purpose of this...

Monday Morning Dawg Bites - "Start Me Up" Edition

Good morning, everyone! Once again, we find ourselves at the start of a new week here in Bulldawg Nation, and I'm realizing that I'm slowly running out of witty tie-ins around starting the...

We're Allowed In The Deep End - Georgia Swimmers & Divers Take SEC Medals

Jack in the Box introduces Bacon Milkshake

Nationwide fast food chain, Jack in the Box, is introducing a new "secret" item to its menu for a limited time...the Bacon Milkshake. At just 773 calories in the 16 oz. version or 1081 calories in the 24 oz. version, it's the perfect drink to keep you fit during the offseason. For the record, the nearest Jack in the Box is in Anderson, South Carolina. Do we still have that baseball home-and-home with Clemson?

Monday Morning Dawg Bites - Toking with Lawrence Welk? Edition

Good morning, everyone. Here we are, once again, with another wonderful work week ahead of us. The Super Bowl now in the books, we're on a football hiatus until September, so we can go ahead and...

Monday Morning Dawg Bites - Happy Birthday Doutzen Kroes Edition

Good morning, folks. It's once again the Monday morning of a standard five-day work week, and I think the weather cooperated very nicely with the standard Monday morning mantra of suck. I was going...

Monday Morning Dawg Bites - Jordan Jenkins/Rematch! Edition

Well folks, we've finally made to the day everyone's been waiting for...the day where the BCS decides if an undefeated LSU team who beat Alabama in their own house during the regular season is...

UGA makes quite an impression on Stephenson RB Mike Davis

Mike Davis made an unofficial (h/t Mr. Sanchez) visit to Athens today and liked it so much that he wants seconds...we'll get his last official visit before signing day. Seriously, this is great news and makes it look more and more likely that we'll achieve our goal of landing two top flight running backs in this class...and Mike's quote about 'Tree is just icing on the cake.

Monday Morning Dawg Bites - "Which Way Did He Go, George?" Edition

What are Georgia fans going to do now that football season is over? These links will help you get through your dull day.

The honors keep rolling on in...

Isaiah Crowell is voted SEC Fresh of the Year by the AP, Jarvis Jones is unanimously named to All-SEC First Team, and Drew Butler gets an honorable mention. The nicest thing about this is that only one of these guys is a senior...the other two will both be back next year. Say what you will about Crowell's attitude, but there's no doubt that the kid is talented, and this is a big award to win for him. Let's hope Keith Marshall comes in and challenges him to go out and do more next year. Update: h/t honors go to Bard Parker, who beat me to the punch on this by about three minutes. Great minds think alike!

Monday Morning Dawg Bites - Dome Sweet Dome Edition

Well, folks, we've finally made it.  Just thirteen short weeks ago, we were preparing to start our season against a highly ranked opponent in the Georgia Dome, and, thankfully, we've come full...

Georgia vs. Kentucky Second Half "Exorcise the Demons" Open Comment Thread

Let's get this thing turned around, STAT.  Break out your rabbit's foot, Bible, Koran, lucky underpants, Maker's Mark, finest green, whatever...just get some luck going for the good guys.

I really can't put a finger on it. I messed up too much and this was a big team loss. They got too...

I really can't put a finger on it. I messed up too much and this was a big team loss. They got too many yards, and we didn't get any. It was bad.

Clint Moseley on the game against Georgia When Grantham took the job at Georgia, he stated that he looked forward to developing "an aggressive, physical, attacking style defense that offenses will not look forward to playing against." Based on how Clint Moseley sounded after the game, I think we can safely say that we're on our way to accomplishing that mission.

Monday Morning Dawg Bites - "Get Outta Here Kitty Kat!" Edition

Good Morning, Dawg Nation, and isn't it a fine morning?  Everyone got to snooze for what feels like an hour later, Georgia finds itself atop the SEC East standings and in control of its own...

Feel free to chime in for anyone who's bored and watching Monday Night Football.  If nothing else, it's another opportunity to watch REAL football, and since I was at the game and couldn't watch...

Four Auburn Football Players Arrested

Home Invasion involving a weapon. Not good for the Tigers.

The Case For The Dawgs To Go Dancin' (Or Why An Elephant Shouldn't Be Allowed In The Room)

A few days ago, all we heard here in Bulldog Nation was "Take care of business at home, avoid bad losses and you'll be in the tournament".  Following the win against LSU, many media folks had...

Georgia hires Olivadotti as Inside Linebackers Coach

Olivadotti comes from the Washington Redskins, spending eleven seasons there. That should be a statement to his abilities in itself, since Dan Snyder fires people as whimsically and with as much thought as Donald Trump and Al Davis combined. Just last year, Olivadotti coached a veteran linebacker (London Fletcher) and a rookie linebacker (Brian Orakpo) to their first Pro Bowls in their careers, which, in my opinion, cements the statement that he's a good teacher who can handle different techniques/experience levels. It will be nice to see what he can do with Samuel and Jones in their first years.

Every Conversation With An Auburn Fan Since January 10th

A pretty accurate representation of any conversation with an Auburn fan since they won the National Title...and before that. My favorite part: Random Fan: "You really believe that God takes a vested interested in a football game?" Auburn Fan: "Of course I do, Trooper Taylor and Gene Chizik said so." Random Fan: "You mean that idiot with the towel? The one who gets excited when the Auburn players hit dirty?" Classic.

Where The Yardlines End - An Ode to the Endzone inspired by Shel Silverstein

There is a place where the yardlines end And before the boundaries begin And there the grass is painted red and white And there those Hairy Dawgs dance with delight And there Big Bad...

Frenchy's not happy...what else is new?

Does Jeff really expect to play every day on any club with those kinds of numbers? I am glad the Braves traded him and I wanted to see him do well in his career, but this just seems like more of the same type of childish behavior. If your numbers warrant you playing every day, then you'll generally play every day. Otherwise, you'll be sent down to AAA to try to fix your swing, or you'll be put in a platoon role or benched for someone with more promise. To be as charismatic a guy as Francoeur is, you would think he would've learned somewhere along the way how to handle adversity. On the other hand, though, I guess when you've always been the best your entire life and have never had to worry about being benched, the first few times you encounter it, you act like a child. Grow up, Jeff.

Akeem Dent out four to six weeks

So apparently Akeem Dent hurt his toe last week and is having to have surgery on it, which will put him out 4-6 weeks. Given the timetable on recovery, this may or may not cause him to miss games (probably only the opener, if any), but it still hurts to have our starting Mike linebacker missing a month or more of practice with a new defense.

Three-Man Rotation

Alright, this one's pretty simple.  If the playoffs started today, who would you want taking the mound in a three-man rotation for the Braves?  I feel like Hudson is pretty much a no-brainer, so...

Jordan Love Arrested

According to Tim Tucker, Love was arrested last night for obstruction of a police officer. Not sure the details surrounding it, but this is going to be interesting if that's the only charge.

Jerry Jones on Tebow

A friend told me about this video, and while it doesn't relate to UGA, it is humorous and it does feed into the "Urban Meyer doesn't prepare his players for the NFL" meme.  Anyway, it's pretty...

A big day for Dawgsports

Today, February 23rd, marks the anniversary of an historic day in the annals of Dawgsports.  The de facto first lady of Dawgsports (other than Kyle's wife and podunkdawg, of course) was born 45...

The joke writes itself, part 846

In a news story that broke last night, Lane Kiffin has reportedly received a verbal commitment from thirteen year old QB David Sills of Bear, Delaware. Sills is currently in the seventh grade. In a time when recruiting is being scrutinized more and more, Kiffin is getting a recruit from a middle schooler? This kid would join USC in the recruiting class of 2015. Lane Kiffin has never been at a job for longer than five years. Here's to betting that one of them isn't there to shake the other's hand on the first day of practice in the fall of 2015.
