Tex got the highest ranking in the Elias Player Rankings. I doubt it will happen, but if the Yanks sign Sabathia and Tex, we get their first round pick as opposed to MIL.

Game 6, I am not sure how you pass over 2002.

The comeback from a 5-run deficit was the largest in World Series history for an elimination game. To me, that seems like a pretty fantastic addition to a resume. This game even had a signature moment, when Dusty Baker prematurely gave the game ball to Russ Ortiz. Add to that this was the highest scoring series in baseball history and I think you have a winner.

I was there and I think Neyer is a piece of garbage so I might be a little biased.

"What Teixeira has done, according to Angels hitting coach Mickey Hatcher, is change the culture of hitting in Los Angeles. He's taught teammates to be more patient, to take walks if the perfect pitch to hit isn't there.

Gaudin the "throw in" has been doing well and was wasted by Beane as a throw in my opinion: "Chad Gaudin: He was the secondary piece in the Harden trade, and he's been effective, adding depth to an already strong bullpen. Gaudin has 21 strikeouts in 19 2/3 innings, with a 2.75 ERA. Grade with the Cubs: B-plus. " Given what relievers go for in the trade market I would say Beane got hosed.

Here is a tidbit from Will Carroll.

The Commissioner’s Office has been informed of a deal involving the Pirates, Red Sox, and Marlins. The Commissioner has to sign off on any deal involving cash considerations of more than a million dollars, and there was clearly going to be cash involved in any deal involving these teams. There’s also some formality about Manny Ramirez waiving his 10-and-5 rights, and no-trade clause, and I’ll admit not understanding the technicalities.

Man Rammed!!!!!

He is not exactly a tour de force of breaking news but this is down right sexy as far as runors go. This is A -Rod to Boston for Man Ram-esque.

God I hope this true. This will not be pretty for the Red Sox. Bay has never played left in Fenway and that could be ugly. I also think his bat is a significant downgrade from Manny. Plus switching leagues is not going to help.

Please let this be true!

I do not know why I continue to be amazed by the hacktastic Dayn Perry. If it is not a list this guy won't write it. It really is amazing this guy has not won a pulitzer yet. PS someone tell him to eat. Um yeah Bay was dealt to the Pirates for Brian Giles................He just keeps making glaring errors in his columns. Fact check once and awhile big guy. It is not like this was breaking news.

Obviously, Bay is the key to this one. In order to bolster the bullpen, the Mets parted with a young outfielder who's now a career .282 AVG/.376 OBP/.518 SLG hitter (and, coincidentally, one of the prizes of the current deadline). They got good relief out of the deal, but it wasn't worth giving up a player like Bay.
