Jamal Crawford may be available?
If the Hawks don't offer him a new deal, which I don't think they can, or will; Crawford will ask for a trade. Can you think of anyone better to play alongside Evans than Crawford?
OKC Looking To Make Moves.
Kyle Weaver avg. 14ppg this summer and we could get him cheap. Also he's playing behind Harden and Sefolosha at the 2, so playing time was hard to come by.
Stats- http://www.nba.com/summerleague2010/players/kyle_weaver/index.html
Barnes signs with Toronto
Was he out of our price range, or just not a good fit?
Being on a contender obviously wasn't an issue with him.
Melo may be available
I'd take him over Omri & Donte', but what's to say he wouldn't opt out when he gets here?
Who's Missing......
We've been rebuilding for a while now, and the roster is almost completely rebuilt. We came away with arguably the best player in this past draft. But right after all the excitement stopped, everyone noticed that we still may have one weak link on our team. Now that we could potentially put forth one of the more dominant front-courts in the league, our back-court looks incomplete. So who's gonna fill the spot.
Roster-
Beno
Reke/Garcia
Greene/Casspi
JT/Landry/Whiteside/Brockman
Cousins/Dalembert
Prospects- A 5th guard could come from summer league.
Free Agents- Most likely to want to come to Sacramento.
JJ Reddick(RFA), Anthony Morrow(RFA), Wes Mathews(RFA), Steve Blake, John Salmons, Raymond Felton
Trade- Can be had for not much in return.
Rudy Fernandez, Mo Williams, Michael Redd, Wilson Chandler
Go Cousins or..........?

There are 2 positions for bigs, PF & C, and there are 96mins between those 2 positions. If we draft another big with the 5th pick, we would have 4 bigs that could play at least 30min a game. The math doesn't add up.
JT- 31mins
Landry- 37mins (Counting games here)
Dalembert- 26mins
Draftee- Left with only 2mins.
If we draft another big, who loses out on playing time? Everyone's high on Dalembert, who will probably play around 28-30mins a game. And if JT is really apart of our future, why reduce his minutes any further? As for Landry, he's the best low-post scorer we have. If we got Cousins, it would make it easier to part with Landry, but I have a feeling that the Wolves are gonna get him at 4. Favors is more defensive minded, and Monroe, I feel will be Hawes 2.0.
So unless we get lucky & have Cousins fall to us I don't see us drafting a big, at least not with the 5th pick. I have my top 5 like this..........
Wall-Turner-Favors-Cousins-???
If this holds up, the only big man left is Monroe. I like Monroe, but what does he bring to the team that we don't already have or had for the past 3yrs(Hawes)? If he showed that he can be a low-post presence on offense, then I say pick him, but then we'd still be stuck with the problem over playing time. The other options would be to either take Wes Johnson with the 5th pick, or trade down.
Wes Johnson seems like a good choice to play the 2-guard next to Reke, but many feel that he's a 3 more so than anything. So unless we know he can play the 2-guard position, I'd rather pass on him. We already have Donte' & Casspi battling for the start at the 3, and I dont feel he would be able to come in and take the spot from either of them. But if Petrie feels he can play SG, then I'd like picking him at 5.
Wolves Offering J.Flynn & 2 First-Round Picks
Assuming they weren't expecting Danny Granger in return with the 10th, would this be worth our 5th pick?
There's been talk about us trading down and picking up Tayshaun Prince, but what about Ben Gordon. We could get rid of Noc & Garcia for both Prince & Gordon. Then we have the perfect 2-guard next to Reke, and a vet at the 3. Also we could probably see Prince traded at the deadline to go play for a contender, if we aren't.
Cousins/Favors Pre-Draft Workout Wrap
Both players sound great in their interviews.
Mo Williams & Delonte West available?
We already have Reke (Lebron).
Nets turn down Beasley for Dooling deal?
Dooling.......... why are we not offering anything? 33rd pick for Beasley?
Would he be a good fit here?
http://www.slamonline.com/online/nba/2010/05/cavaliers-to-trade-delonte-west/
Sactown 2 Toronto =

Kings get- 13th pick, Marcus Banks, Reggie Evans
With the 5th pick, we take Cousins who I think would make Landry expandable seeing as how both would need the paint to operate. I would like to see Hawes get a chance to play the 4, he's a 21yr old skilled big man, in the Nowitzki/Gasol catagory. Then with the 13th pick I would take Xavier Henry, but we could also look at Avery Bradley. Banks & Evans make less than Noc & Landry would make + they go into their last year next season.
Toronto gets- 33rd pick, Carl Landry (Low-post scoring when Bosh leaves), Nocioni
They get a sure replacement for Bosh and they get rid of 2 unwanted contracts. And Noc is a clear update over Evans, a great back-up to Hedu & Landry, + they seem to love international players.
Draft/Trade Recap:
5th- Demarcus Cousins C.,13th- Xavier Henry SG., Marcus Banks G., Reggie Evans PF.
Roster -
PG. Reke - Beno - Banks

King Xavier.....Nickname Accomplished?
SG. Xavier Henry 6-6' 220![]()
Xavier Henry - via nbadraft.net
Pros-
Eighteen year old freshman with an effortless, fluid style ... His body is NBA ready - built like a freight train possessing tremendous strength ... Ideal frame for a shooting guard or small forward at the next level. Naturally gifted scorer (28 ppg as a HS senior) with a deadly shooting eye. Prolific shooter from beyond the arc with tremendous range. Pure stroke with a quick, smooth release. No hitches ... Uses his legs very well on his shot getting good lift ... Effective slashing to the hoop where he can attack the rim and seek out contact ... Finishes extremely well, shrugging off defenders with ease ... Gets to the free throw line regularly and is automatic. Active on the glass ... Can be a terrific rebounding wing with his strength and freakish wingspan (6.7 per game in 2009 and 7.2 in 2008) ... A thief when playing off the ball defensively, reading passing lanes and intercepting passes (1.7 spg through his first seven collegiate games). Refreshing positive attitude on the court. Always smiling, seeming to truly enjoy the game of basketball ... Hard worker and very coachable, which is rare for a player of his stature.
Cons-
A strong athlete but not an elite level athlete ... Does not possess explosive speed, quicks or leaping ability, although his leaping ability is better than his foot speed ... His first step is mediocre and his face up game lacks creativity ... His options are limited when he puts the ball on the floor and is quite predictable ... Ball handling needs to improve drastically. Turnovers have been a bugaboo early on at 2 per game ... Needs to develop his right hand. Too left hand dominant on the dribble and on the finish ... Settles for too many long range shots. Should take advantage of his strength inside and attack more. Lack of comfort in the post game. He has the physical edge against any college SG or SF and would be wise to exploit it ... Defense runs through positive and negative patches. At times plays with excellent passion, and other times appears to be going through the motions ... Lateral quickness is not ideal, but his strength and length can mask that deficiency.
What Kings get - We get probably the best shooter that's coming out of this years draft. A perfect 2-Gaurd to play alongside Reke. He & Reke are like 2 peices to a puzzle, Reke's the drive & he's the shoot. If you watched the end of the video, then you'll know what I mean.
Roster
PG- Reke - Beno
SG- Henry - Garcia
SF- Greene - Casspi
PF- Landry - JT
C- Hawes - JT
Not the Draft I was hoping 4?
Tim Tebow
Im going to be a bronco fan till I die, but time are rough right now. If I weren't so crazy about football, I wouldn't have watch the rest of this draft after we took Tebow. Yes he is a tremendous leader, very passionate football player, & the guy will never spend a day of his life in trouble. All that being said, drafting this guy was the biggest mistake the Broncos could have made. I have no problem with Tebow as a person but as a player, he's not worth a 1st round pick. On top of that, we gave up 3 quality pick that really could have helped this team, possible 2010 starters. Tebow himself could have been one of our later picks. This is all I have to say about the Tebow decision.
Draft
As for our overall draft, everything turned out O.K. But I feel that with every pick, we took the player that was second best. Is that a good thing?
1st - Dez Bryant 2nd - DeMaryius Thomas
1st - Sam Bradford 2nd - Tim Tebow (I can only pray he becomes 2nd best)
1st - Iupati 2nd - Zane Beadles?(I liked Ducasse/Asamoah)
1st - Maurkice Pouncy 2nd - J.D. Walton (Tennant wasn't that great)
Lets hope for the playoffs in 2010. Go Broncos!!!!
Day 2 Mock Draft
??? - Will Tebow ever see the field in Denver?
DRAFT
Denver has single handedly proven why mock drafts mean nothing, yet as a fan here's who I see us taking. (AKA, the NICE GUYS)
2nd - Taylor Mays, S., USC - If we traded up to take Tebow, we better not let this guy get by us. The air-apparent to Brian Dawkins.

3rd - John Jerry, G/T., Miss - We need a guard and depth at tackle, he can play both positions.

3rd - Donald Butler, ILB., Wash - ILB is a need, Brandon Spikes has character issues, therefore, Butler is our guy
![]()
Haze's Offseason
Draft - One of these six will wear Kings purple next season.
1st Pick? John Wall - I hope either he or Reke develops a good jump-shot if we get the 1st pick.
2nd Pick? Evan Turner - Same analysis as Wall, except Reke stays at the point.
3rd/4th Pick? Derrick Favors - My choice in the draft. A do-it-all PF, makes Landry a great trade asset.
4th Pick? DeMarcus Cousins - A bigger & better rebounding Carl Landry
If we get the 5th or 6th pick and none of these guys fall to us, I say we trade back and take Hassan Whiteside or Xavier Henry.
Trades - (Im Still on the Shock & Hawes bandwagon.)
Andres Nocioni - Get rid of Noc's contract. Don't even worry about getting back value, unless someone is dumb enough to give us anything for him. He wants out, and we don't need him.
Carl Landry - If we land either Favors, Cousins (Draft), David Lee, Chris Bosh, or Carlos Boozer (Free-Agency) I would like to see us move Landry in an attempt to get a starting 2-Guard. He's a great low-post scorer, but that's all he does. Houston knew this, and they figured why not get a 25pt scorer over a 16pt guy. We should look for the same kind of deal
My Roster - Landry & 2nd round pick to Washington, for Nick Young & Javale McGee
PG - Reke - Beno
SG - Young - Cisco
SF - Greene - Casspi
PF - Favors - JT
C - Hawes - JT - McGee
Haze's Final Draft (Marshall-Marshall-Marshall)
This will go down as one of the dumbest trades in history. Through 08-10 the broncos ship out franchise players for nothing in return. Im a bronco fan for life, but these are rough times. 3 straight 100-catch seasons and we get one 2nd round pick this year, we just got robbed. On top of all of this, both my brother and uncle like Miami, I'll never hear the end of it. McDumb-ass!!! (Im not mad at McD it just sounded good).
Draft
Round 1, Pick 11 (from Chicago) - 11th overall
Rolando McClain, ILB, Alabama, 6-4' 249

He's still the man. Unless we trade back.
Round 2, Pick 11 - 43rd overall (From Dolphins)
Vladimir Ducasse, OG/OT, Massachusetts, 6-5' 332

We already invited him in for a workout, maybe McD & X saw something good in him.
Round 2, Pick 13 - 45th overall
Demaryius Thomas, WR, Georgia Tech, 6-3' 224

Injury or not, we need to replace B-Marsh and this would be a good way to start.
Round 3, Pick 17 - 80th overall
Matt Tennant, C, Boston College, 6-5' 300

We have a big need at the center position and with Pouncy out it's between either Tennant or JD Walton, I chose Tennant.
Round 4, Pick 16 - 114th overall
Joe McKnight, RB, USC, 6-0' 200

I know we need a big RB but I think we'll be able to get by with Moreno. Right now I'm thinking playmaker, and that's just who McKnight is.
Round 6, Pick 14 - 183rd overall
Myron Rolle, S, 6-2' 215

I usually would have LeGarrette Blount here, but I get the feeling someones going to take him before the 6th. So the next best guy to draft is Rolle. He and McBath could possibly be our future at the safety positions.
Round 7, Pick 13 - 220th overall
Trindon Holliday, KR, LSU, 5-5' 166

The only return specialist to be invited to the combine. He could take over all the return duties, so that Royal can return to his 91-catch rookie season form.
Haze's Quick Draft pt.5
Round 1, Pick 11 (from Chicago) - 11th overall
Rolando McClain, ILB, Alabama, 6-4' 249

He's the man. We'd be crazy not to take him. Think this generations Ray Lewis, along with Patrick Willis.
Round 2, Pick 13 - 45th overall
Terrence "Mount" Cody, NT, Alabama, 6-4' 349
In Order for D.J and McClain to do their job, we are going to need a guy like Cody for years to come. Jamal Williams Will make a great tutor.
Round 3, Pick 17 - 80th overall
John Jerry, OG/OT, Mississippi, 6-6' 328

He's not as big as Mount Cody, but then again, not many are. Jerry opposite of Chris Kuper sounds good to me.
Round 4, Pick 16 - 114th overall
Eric Olsen, C, Notre Dame, 6-4' 306

The center position is like the QB of the O-Line. I figure that he had to be doing something right if he was the one calling the shots to protect Jimmy Clausen, who's projected to be a top-10 pick.

Haze's Quick Draft
Draft - Here come the bigs
1st - Rolando McClain, ILB, Alabama, 6-4' 249
Everyone knows what he can do. The only knock on him is Chromes Disease. Which is proven to be manageable, seeing as how David Garrard of the Jaguars has it also. Doom-McClain-Williams-Ayers?
2nd - Terrence Cody, NT, Alabama, 6-4' 349
The biggest guy in the whole draft, although he has lost a lot of weight, which show his commitment to playing ball and what teams want from him. I also remember reading about him saying that he was the one that took up the blocks in order to free up McClain. We should take him and hope he continues to do the same here.
3rd - Vladimir Ducasse, OL, Massachusetts, 6-5' 332
332lbs in the 3rd round sound good to me, plus he can play either guard or tackle. Denver already had a workout with him I think or they scheduled one.
4th - Eric Olsen, C, Notre Dame, 6-4' 306
I think he played guard when Brady Quinn was at Notre Dame, but that.s o.k they should still be familiar with each other. Also, I think we already have his brother Seth Olsen on the team.
6th - LeGarrette Blount, RB, Oregon, 6-1' 241
"Iron Mike" ended up knocking himself back..... far back. He keeps dropping on draft boards, so we could possibly steal him here in the 6th. He's just the big back that we need to go along with Moreno.
7th - Danario Alexander, WR, Missouri, 6-5' 215

A 6-5' receiver is worth the risk in the 7th round.

Haze's Quick Draft Pt.4
Trades - None, Hillis was the only player that I saw being traded & he's gone. B-marsh & Scheff both stay. The only trades I see us making involve draft picks, & that's only if McClain is not available.
Free Agency Watch - Nathan Vasher CB (Dime package & returner)..... Kevin Mawae C (Mentor to young OL) ..... Darren Sharper S (Alongside Dawkins!!?)..... Bobbie Williams OG (1 year in front of Ducasse)..... T.O WR (1-year deal of course. Worse case, we trade him for late picks & he could shows McD that B-marsh isn't that bad.)
Draft -
1st - Rolando McClain ILB, 6-4 254
2nd - Vladimir Ducasse OL, 6-5 332

3rd - Matt Tennant C, 6-5 300

4th - LeGarrette Blount RB, 6-1 241

6th - Danario Alexander WR, 6-5 222

7th - Clifton Geathers DE, 6-8 299

Haze's Quick Draft Pt.3
Quick Notes
Bmarsh & Sheff stay in Denver
With the new news on McClain, we should trade down to later in the 1st round & also get a 3rd
Draft
1st - (20th-25th pick) Mike Iupati OG
2nd - Maurkice Pouncy or Matt Tennant
3rd - Sean Lee or Jamar Chaney ILB
3rd - Demaryius Thomas WR
4th - (Trade this pick for Brady Quinn) or Dan LeFevour QB
5th(Hillis to Washington) - LeGarrette Blount RB
6th - Sam Young OT
7th - Zoltan Mesko P
Back to the Future
The trade deadline has passed, and with it, so did the season. These last few games will be used to evaluate our roster, and determine which way we go in the upcoming draft and free agency. I think a lot of people will agree with me when I say, Reke has been and will be a superstar for us in years to come. But it's time to make a changes, and the first "Post-Kmart Era" change should be at point guard. Evans is a good point guard, but we are better suited playing him elsewhere. Think of Lebron, Wade, & even Joe Johnson. They all have the ability to play the point, yet they're not, & it's worked out pretty well for their teams.
Draft -
(Draft Option 1) If we don't luck up and get John Wall, I say we trade our 1st rd pick for a starting caliber point guard. (Devin Harris)

(Draft Option 2) If draft option #1 is too risky.......draft Derrick Favors or Demarcus Cousins. Then use free agency to get a decent point guard. (Raymond Felton)

(Draft Option 3) We draft Evan Turner. (Reke/Speed 2.0) The cheaper version
Trades - If we don't have a point guard after the draft or free agency we should trade for any of these guys. Hinrich, Calderon, Sessions, Conley.

Go Kings, 2010-2011 Champions
Haze's Quick Draft/Free-Agency pt.2
Key Free Agents -
Resign: Kyle Orton QB, B-Marsh WR, Doom OLB, T-Scheff TE
New Additions: Richard Seymour DL, Logan Mankins OG, Le'Ron McClain RB/FB,
1st - Rolando McClain ILB 6-4 256
2nd - Dan Williams DT 6-2 329
3rd - Tyson Alualu DE/DT 6-2 291
4th - Joe McKnight RB/KR 6' 190
5th (Hillis to Washington) - Riley Cooper WR 6-4 214
6th - Myron Rolle DB 6-2 217
7th -Erik Cook C 6-6 320
Cemented Backcourt
This Idea has been flying around my head for the past few weeks now and though it is a long shot, "anythings possible". Instead of me making a trade so everyone can tell me how bad it is, or how it should have been in the Asinine thread, I'll just paint paste u a picture.

Is this legal, and if we could make this happen, why not? We would have a 3-guard rotation, and automatic 60+ points between these 3 alone. With Kmart not needing to handle the ball or take more than 10-15 shots, everyone's happy. The only downside to this is that we'd have to give up our 1st rd pick and we still won't have a defensive minded big. If this were the case, we'd have to get lucky in the 2nd rd of the draft or free-agency.
Haze's Quick Draft
My mock draft doesn't have us making a lot of trades like many others do. Most notably, the Bmarsh trade ideas, which aren't going to happen. Although I'm quite sure that Shanahan will try to get Hillis from McD and over to Washington.
1st - Rolando McClain ILB
2nd - Jon Asamoah
3rd - Tyson Alualu DE
4th - Joe McKnight RB/KR
5th(Hillis to Redskins) - Myron Rolle DB
6th - Eric Olsen C
7th - Zoltan Mesko P

Not so Asinine trades
If any deal is to be done before the trade deadline this season, one of these players are likely can possibly end up here with the kings. No Kmart or JT trades here, all trades involve K9, Noc, HA, & May.

Reke-Kmart-Greene-Hawes-Chandler
When will the madness stop!!!
Why does anyone here want to trade away our best player. No matter how much you deny it, Bmarsh is our best player. Everyone hear acts as if we have T.O himself on our team. If its not Fitz or Andre Johnson, then there is no replacement at the WR position for us. Hasn't anyone learned from last year's off season fiasco. Denver traded away its then best offensive player for picks in order to fill other needs on the team (which we didn't do), and this years offense sucked (rarely kept drives going). So now everyone's saying that we should take another step back, by getting rid of Bmarsh who seemed to make up 90% of our offense.
Trading Bmarsh for picks wont help, seeing as how we would have to fill his void with a high pick. If we draft Dez Bryant (who isn't better than Bmarsh), then we'll just be trowing short passes to Dez Bryant. There's also no way that the jets trade David Harris for Bmarsh, when he plays a important role in Rex Ryans "D", and they have Braylon.
I know everyone is going to jump at the chance to say how wrong I am. But when you do, tell me how any other player we get for him is going to help us.

Road back to Glory
Im a little mad right now, but i'll try to keep everything reasonable. I'm just going to make a list of ideas, demands coach W & Petrie must do, or else we'll continue to lose.
1. We all love the Brockness Monster, but he shouldn't be starting any games at this point in his career. He's played great coming off the bench with his hustle and rebounding, but him starting hasn't helped us at all. Brock is grabbing less rebounds than Hawes in his last three starts, so maybe coach should let him go back to his role as the all out energy guy off the bench.
2. This is the second strait game were Kmart has taken less than 10 shots. His all around game has really improved but I'd rather have his previous 25 pts avg back. Not saying we should give him the ball and watch all game, but a few set iso's wouldn't hurt. Kmart is playing a little too unselfish. Reke is and will be our future star, but right now I still say Kmart is our best player. If not for injury, he'd be a 2/3 time all-star by now.
3. Time for Shock"n"Hawes to make a comeback. Both players have had their ups and downs this year but we shouldn't give up on them. This time last year, everyone who knew Kings basketball, thought of this tandem first (aside from Kmart). Westphal say's he isn't happy with the defensive effort or toughness of Hawes, but benching him has only made things worse. Also, have the Kings made any attempt to get either C-Webb or Vlade a position on the staff. Just saying, Dwight has Ewing, Bynum had Kareem, hell we could use whoever Bosh has at this point. No disrespect to Reef & Robinson, but we could use the best to become the best.(C-Webb & Vlade aren't likely, just an idea)
4. Are we going to make any more trades this season, and if so, when? We are going to have to turn things around here quick, My expectations may have been a little high, but I still think we could be better. If Chicago is still shopping Hinrich & Thomas, I say what do we have to lose? Hinrich is Beno with better defense, & TT is..........Defense. Also let me say, no trading Kmart, there's a reason why every other team in the NBA wants him.
5. I can't think of anything else, 5 just seemed like a good # to stop at.
Hopefully the return home will bring back what it feels like to have a good game and get a W.
Go Kings!
