All Is Not Lost

Although my prediction of us shocking the world and making the playoffs just got a whole lot dimmer, well damn right dark, all is not lost. True we lost one of the top 5 scorers in the league, top 10 sixth-man, and maybe for a few games Nocioni (nothing comes to mind) but we'll be o.k. Some of you may think Im crazy after this, but I believe our savior is already here, and no its not Evans. It's none other than Donte Greene (take a few deep breaths and here me out). If im wrong at least you'll have something fun to joke about while we're losing. I've been a fan ever since the big 40 point summer league game he had as a rookie. Some may say summer league doesn't mean anything, but 40 points is 40 points. The point Im trying to make is that he will probably get to see some time on the floor, hopefully a lot of time, as I've never seen him play more than 10 minutes. Don't turn him into Ike Diogu Pt.2. If Nocioni ends up missing a few games we will be down to 2 wing-men, so he could at least get 20-plus minutes. I say its time to let him play his game. We need defense, which he has been working on, but he can score which i think we'll be needing more of. We all compare him to Rashard Lewis and it would be great if he turned out that way, but the only way to find out is to let him play.

On another note, I read that the bulls were thinking about getting rid of Tyrus Thomas. Do we have a shot at getting him. We could probably get a back-up 5 also.

Im a kings fan living on the east coast, so already i never get to see many games of the kings on tv. I depended on a lot of internet streaming in the past, but with the t.v situation going on, i dont get to see many games. I was wondering if the tv thing would carry over into the regular season, and if so why dont they just stream the games on the internet themselves. I noticed that nba.com always has highlight footage so there has to be a video camera there right, so why not show it.

I'm one of the biggest Brandon Marshal fans here, or at least I used to be. And I'm sure that's what alot of GM's are saying also. I think Denver should have moved him when they had a chance to get something in return. But after seeing how he acted, There's very little chance that we get a 1st and a 3rd, or a 1st and anything for him. I guess skills weren't the only reason they called him Baby T.O. And if this keeps up, Denver will probably release him just like t.o. Then what do we do? I say try and trade him this week for whatever they can get, because he's a lost cause now.

Sean May to sign with Kings

Its been a rumor flying around for the past week, and according to the Real GM site, the kings are about to sign Sean May. I personally don't have a problem with the signing if it goes through, but I just don't know what his role will be here on this team. He's only about 6'8 but I'm guessing that he can back-up both Hawes & Thompson being that he carries a lot of weight. But I still feel as if we aren't getting what we need, which if interior defense and rebounding. May is a fair rebounder but wont give us much defensive presence. So the question is, are the kings going to make another move for a defensive big man or is this it. I feel that we should go after either Dalembert from the 76rs or DeAndre Jordan of the Clippers. Also I know it will probably never happen, but is their any senario that could get us Ronny Turiaf. I think someone like him could be the last piece to our rebuilding mode. What do you all think.

Although we aren't getting the wins that we should, it's no reason to panic. First off these are just summer league games, a chance for rookies to get a feel for the game, and for others to improve on areas of their game that they need work on. And i think that so far we are doing just that. We have a Lebron James like point guard in Tyreke Evans, a rebounding machine in Brockman, and younger rough version of Nocioni in Casspi. Unlike alot of people on this site, I think that Donte Greene is doing o.k. We've all seen him light it up in last years summer league so scoring isn't an issue, he looks like he's working harder on defense and trying to rebound as well. Thompson seems to be the only one out of sink, but as he proved last year he can play and be productive in the nba. Now for the reason that we're losing. It has to be the horrible free throw shooting. We've lost two games now in the last seconds. This is were having Kevin Martin, Spencer Hawes and others come in handy. Preason should give us a better outlook on this upcoming season, so until then just enjoy the show.

Also, during the game Garvin Maloof said that Evans was going to be the starting point guard next year from day one.

Udrih or Sergio to go?

Both Udrih and Sergio seem like perfect second options at the point, so the question is who will get the minutes off the bench. Evans most likely will play some 2-guard at times which will create even more left over minutes but it's still not enough for the both of them. I think the kings are working on some kind of package deal involving K-9 and one of the point guards. Beno is a great back-up and his contract may be hard to move, so maybe Sergio is the odd man out. They must like Sergio in some way because he cost us the 31st pick which we could have used on Dejuan Blair, instead we got Jon Brockman( just as undersized as Blair ). No disrespect but Blair is clearly the better player. I read that the kings may want a back-up center instead of bring back Diogu so maybe thats what we trade for. Seeing that every team neeeds depth at the point guard position we could easily find front court help by packaging either Beno or Serio along with K-9 for a decent big man.

If they plan on trading one or the other, who is to go. Also what big man can we get to rotate with Thompson and Hawes?

Don't bother trading up because he isn't worth trading away any of the few good players we have.

Instead lets trade down to any team below us starting with Washington with the number 5 pick, to the Nets with the 11th pick. I would say go for the 11th pick and try to get back Vince Carter since they don't want him, then they could get Evans, Harden, or Derozan to go alongside Harris. Carter is still productive and could play the 3 for the kings until Greene is ready. With the 11th pick we take either Holiday, Jennings, or Flynn.

Kings - 11th pick, Carter

Nets - 4th pick, Nocioni, K9

I think the contracts match up.

A offseason for Donte Greene

since the kings may not resign mccants those minutes could go to greene, he fits perfectly on the the roster. let garcia mostly play 2-guard and some 3 but let greene back up nocioni and he could rotate to the 4 as an extra big body. he's 6-10 so he'll have the hight advantage over most wingmen and it doesn't hurt him on the defensive end either, look at turkoglu. resign diogu and draft another big body with the 23rd pick and the front court is set. use the 4th and 31st to trade up for the 2nd pick and get rubio.
