I'm pretty bummed.  This was gonna be my first UFC ppv purchase.  Had people invited and everything.  From what I've read its a knee injury that requires rehab, not surgery.

Hopefully Phil gets another shot a main event.  It sounds like his career has been handled cautiously to this point, so it may be a while til he gets another "name" matchup like Rashad Evans.

Tito Ortiz has been named as the replacement.

I am going to State College this summer for the first time in 8 years.  Spending two nights there with my wife as part of a Philly/NYC/PSU trip (she's never been to the East Coast).  Anywho, I'm looking at the Nittany Lion Inn and the Penn Stater for hotels.  I'm familiar with NLI, but not the Penn Stater.  Online it looks like they refurbished a dorm and turned it into a student run hotel.  Anyone ever stay at the Penn Stater?  As much as I loved my time in Mifflin Hall, I have no need to relive that experience.  The price difference is only about $40 so I'm leaning NLI.

I watch a LOT of college football, I mean, A LOT.  I live on the west coast though, so I have lacked a bit in east coast game and team coverage.

With that being said, I would like to pose this disturbing question to the BSD board; is Pitt good?

I literally have seen like one highlight all year of a Pitt game out here.

.....what the kid at Akron did to get booted off the team?  Jacquemain I believe is his name.  Must have been something pretty rough to get dismissed for the whole season.  If it was gambling, he did a TERRIBLE job of throwing the game against us.  PSU spread cover FAIL!!!!  I could have used a little more effort on his part.

I have NO idea if that was it, but it must have been serious.  Just curious to see if anyone had heard anything.

the pac 10 gets no respect from me, i saw ucla play twice in person this year and they are pathetic.  usc beat them 28-7.

I do not know much about the details of this event yet, but there will be a Penn State New Year's Eve Party at Mr. Pockets in Manhattan Beach, CA the night before the Rose Bowl.

Any Penn State fan will be welcome as this is a Penn State friendly bar here in SoCal.  We are deep in USC territory, so for fans that are coming out for the Rose Bowl this will be a nice opportunity to get together and bring in the new year.
