Look from a different perspective
I am tired of all the playoff scenarios and dolphin bashing of how we sometimes dissappear in the fourth quarter. I too have posted about how inconsistent our team has been in the fourth quarters, but i had to double take when i saw how many wins we had during the growth of our young secondary and with all the key injuries. We've won four of the last five, went 7-3 since our 0-3 start and since then has not lost two consecutive games. Now add in all the injuries and teams we are playing and i am starting to feel really optomistic. Since our one win season, we have rebounded well and look on pace to have a solid team for years to come. We are deep enough to reload in the midst of starters falling and how many teams are still relevant after as many key injuries as we have? It seems like our identity is more than a wilcat triggerman, an acurate passer, a utility back, a mammoth D lineman, and serviceable secondary player. The team has bought into what the FO is selling and i think we will continue to grow. I don't get to watch much college from the sand box, but i'm not concerned with who we draft of who does not make the team next year. The best possible players are going to be on the field making plays, and dominating opposing teams for years to come. So that is where i am right now and playoffs, super bowl or not, the Dolphins are coming in a big way...........Go Dolphins!!!!!!!
vs Falcons from atl
Well i was at the game yesterday and got to see the action from the stands, and here are my honset opinions from the game:
- OFFENSE (negatives): the line sucked, we were pushed around and never allowed a pocket for pennington to sit in. We never opened up holes for our runningbacks to run in no matter who was in the backfield. The only positive running plays we had were trick plays or wildcat variants. Fasano fumbled what seemed like every time he got the ball.Pennington did not make the best decisions all the time, but it's hard to complete long and intermediate passes when you're on your back or rushed every snap. Peyton Manning would have sucked with our line.At least our line can spend their guaranteed money and buy some instructional videos or purchase all the tapes so no one can see just how much work they need.
-OFFENSE (positives): Ricky goes hard no matter what! Ted Ginn does know how to get open and Pat white is a quarterback and not just a wildcat qb. the pass was overthrown, but it showed a lot. Bess was good at catching underneath and short routes. We had more third and short plays that we converted than anything else.
-DEFENSE (negatives): We allowed every touchdown on short routes which ended in the endzone. We did not get enough pressure on Ryan and he had time to make some TD tosses. Our safeties and linebackers did not apply enough pressure and were beat often. Our linemen could not disrupt their passing game. Taylor and Porter did nothing spectacular on the field together.
-DEFENSE (positives): We shut down their running game and did not let their backs get going. Our corners did good at containing their WRs and our front did not budge. Merling was a beast! I hope we can build on our line against the run.
ST: nothing special
OVERALL: we need some work, but it is early. Hopefully we can take this and turn it around. I believe in this team and know sometimes a pop in the mouth can make you sober up and stop believing all the hype and just win some football games.
GO PHINS!!!!! There were a lot of dophin fans around before and during thr game.
