The Artest trade would have worked in the past

As much as i hated Ron-Ron and his chest thumping screams into the stands, or his " I'm a black hole and you aint getting nuthing back from me, just ask my starving dogs, except for this ugly off balanced shot because I'm Ron "the Man" Artest mentality. i had the feeling i would have loved to had seen it all back in the Vlade/Webb days.

Can you remember the time when you would we'd see Webb jogging down the court with that scowl that said said "I'm a bad MotherF'er" and there aint nothing you could do bout it right after a sick throw down? Or a jumping Jon Barry or Scot Pollard on the sidelines howling at the top of their lungs after a sweet no looker from Vlade to "insert any former king's name here" for an incredibly wide open lay up? I can help but think that Ron would have fit right in with that group if he had been traded for Peja way back.

With all the personalities we had back then and with the system/coach we had, i can't help but fantasize what could have been if we had him during any of the Laker-King series. Vlade and Webb would have kept him and his oversized ego in check. It would have given us that one tough player that every team needs to win a championship. You remember how every Vet with a shady past that got into Adelman's system suddenly would turn into the model basketball player on and off the court, as evidenced in artest' first year here. He would have been the missing piece to the championship puzzle to our equation. (And of course Legit Officiating!) who knows how many championship we would have by now.

Maybe I'm still sore about that stupid Horry three and am still trying to pick up the pieces of my shattered heart, but then again.. what do you guys think?

I found this article on SLAM ONLINE that cracked me up. My favorite by far is the sam cassell one. Is it me or does Robert Horry look like a better looking version of Will Smith?
