This pic was taken on 2003 Clinch Day from Section 415 I think - the day the Cubs won two games of the double header and clinched the division. It was an overcast day throughout pretty much both games. But just a few minutes after the second victory and at the beginning of the celebration the sun splashed across the buildings behind Wrigley and Sheffield Ave, and I’ve never seen Wrigley so beautiful and amazing. It was as if the clouds parted at that moment so those Cubs players and fans of days past could shine down and be there with us all - in fact, I have titled this shot "God Has Spoken". Haha, cheesy I know, but I cried tears of joy and amazement that day. It’s a feeling I’ll never forget.
Here’s to the Cubs doing something even more special this year!!!

The Merkle Game Remembered (and a BCB mention on NPR)
Was listening to NPR on the drive home from work Friday when a story about how the 1908 Cubs won the pennant came on. I had never heard about this, and it was a great listen - I recommend it to everyone here....
Also, there was another story about this years Cubs (typical stuff really), and there is a BCB mention....Give it a listen as well by clicking on the "In Chicago, Optimism For Cubs Despite Losses" link.
But make sure you listen to the Merkle game story!!!

This is another photo I took on Wrigley Field Neighborhood Day 2003. I was reminded of it when reading this story: http://featuresblogs.chicagotribune.com/theskyline/2008/04/is-wrigleys-new.html . Taken in almost the exact same spot! For the record, that CBOE sign needs to go!
