Demetrius Bell leaves Philadelphia without a deal
Bell visited Eagles, Steelers, Packers, Cardinals, Redskins and still didn't find a new job.
Maybe it's time to him and his agent rethink his new contract strategy. Clearly they are asking too much money for a guy who has a big injury risk.
Stanford Routt already has visit planned with Buffalo
Stanford Routt's agent William Vann McElroy told Josina Anderson that Stanford Routt already has visits planned right now with Buffalo and Tennessee.
William Vann McElroy said "as of right now Buffalo has him flying in on Sunday for a Monday visit, but I will keep you posted"
How To Go From 0-16 To The Playoffs In Only Three Years
Great article from Pride of Detroit showing all rosters moves that create the current great Lions team, and put them in playoffs. This is an inspiration for every Bills fans.
I billieve our time is coming.
"Bills bits: Merriman says he's baaack ... Brad Smith's big arm on display ... Dareus, KWilliams load of trouble ... This is not a 4-12 team."
18-game schedule off the table in CBA negotiations
"For the first time publicly, NFLPA executive director DeMaurice Smith said tonight that an 18-game season is off the negotiating table in collective bargaining talks with the owners.
"First of all, the league has never presented a formal proposal for 18 games," he told SI.com. "But more importantly, it's something that our players don't want. Eighteen games is not in the best interest of our players' safety, so we're not doing it."
The expanded season was thought to be one of the key talking points in the sides' negotiations for a new agreement; the current deal expires Friday night. The other sticking points are a rookie wage scale -- Yahoo! Sports reported today the sides have agreed on the parameters of a new rookie compensation system -- and a redistribution of league revenues. The league is seeking an additional $1 billion per year in expense credits that would be taken off the top before revenues are divided among the players and owners. The union has said there will be no significant financial givebacks unless the owners open their books."
This is very interesting. Maybe they are a little closer to a deal than we thought. What do you guys think?

Todd McShay talk about Senior Bowl's first day.
He highlights some performances by OT Nate Solder; QBs: Jake Locker, Stanzi, Dalton; WR's - Leonard Hankerson and Vincent Brown.
Andy Darlton and Lenard Hankerson are in South Squad.
Charles Davis' (NFL.com analyst) Mock draft
Charles Davis did a mock draft for NFL.com, and it's a little bit different from everyone else.
His top Five:
1. Carolina Panthers (2-14) -- Da'Quan Bowers*, DE, Clemson
2. Denver Broncos (4-12) -- Patrick Peterson*, CB, LSU
3. Buffalo Bills (4-12) -- Robert Quinn*, DE, North Carolina
4. Cincinnati Bengals (4-12) -- Nick Fairley*, DT, Auburn
5. Arizona Cardinals (5-11) -- Blaine Gabbert*, QB, Missouri
Quinn is an interesting OLB prospect (the best IMHO), but Dareus, Green and Gabbert are all available.
What do you guys think about this mock?
Mel Kiper 2011 NFL Mock Draft 1.0
Like Dan Kadar, Kiper has Bills taking Marcell Dareus, DE, Alabama. Peterson not avaliable in his mock and he said this about AJ Green:
" I'm sure some Bills fans would clamor for a guy like A.J. Green in this spot, but after 2010 the Bills simply have to address the lines, and the development of Stevie Johnson limits the receiver need anyway."
Don't agree with him, like I've already said Green is a can't-miss talent. If they pass on QB, I really hope they draft Peterson or Green.
You have to be an ESPN Insider to see beyond the 5th pick.

Mallett to return for junior year
Arkansas quarterback Ryan Mallett will announce later Friday that he will pass on the NFL draft and return for his junior season, a source close to the player told ESPN's Joe Schad.
An announcement is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. ET.
Mallett completed 15 of 36 passes for 202 yards and one touchdown in leading Arkansas to a 20-17 victory over East Carolina in the AutoZone Liberty Bowl.
For the season, Mallett completed 225 of 403 passes for 3,627 and 30 touchdowns.
Time to review our mock drafts guys.
Buffalo coaching search on hold
By Tim Graham
"A pair of insightful blogs have been posted about the Buffalo Bills' approach to finding their next head coach.
Buffalo News reporter Mark Gaughan writes the Bills will not hire a coach until they bring in a legitimate general manager. The Bills have operated without a traditional GM or football operations boss, choosing instead to let team president Russ Brandon, who has a marketing background, handle the role.
NFL Network reporter Jason La Canfora, citing an unnamed source, provides an update on the coaching search: There really hasn't been one yet.
La Canfora reports since the Bills interviewed Mike Shanahan and were snubbed by Mike Holmgren, Jon Gruden and Bill Cowher, the club has decided to sit back and wait.
From La Canfora's blog:
According to the source, a resolution is "a long, long ways away," and the franchise is at the start of what will be a "very thorough process." As expected all along, the Bills could look to several emerging coordinators, though there are few options on the offensive side of the ball. Buffalo would like to install an offensive-minded coach and explosive system, if possible, and is looking for someone who can identify and develop a franchise quarterback -- which is why Holmgren, Shanahan and Gruden were so appealing.
Buffalo television station WIVB reported Monday night the Bills had reached out to former Notre Dame head coach and New England Patriots offensive coordinator Charlie Weis through "back channels.""

T.O. missed the practice for the Bills as a sprained toe.
Bad New about Johnson, who re-aggravated his rib cartilage injury.
Vic Carucci (NFL.com) talk about TEs in 1st round
This is a very interesting article about TE in this year's draft class. Carucci makes some valid points about TE position being overrated by team over recent years.
He tries to show the "Tight end is an important position, but there's a danger in overrating its importance."
