Olympic Rules
Now that we've all had a good taste of Olympic hockey rules, I wanted to ask what everyone thinks of it. There's automatic icing, no trapezoids and pizza slices, 10 minute sudden-death OT, and a different point structure for the standings. Do you think more fans will start to consider these rule changes for the NHL? I'm not saying that I personally think they should be changed, I'm just wondering what the consensus is. Do you like automatic icing or not? (I don't) Do you like not having a trapezoid? (I do) Would you want to see any of these changes in the NHL?

Barry Trotz bobblehead...
Ok, Here's the idea........ a Barry Trotz bobblehead. Except this bobblehead pivots at the waist instead of the neck..... due to Trotz's....... well........ um.... not really having a neck. We could call it a Bobblewaist, maybe? I would love to add that one to my collection! Aren't we due for a cool giveaway anyhow? Just a bit of fun here, you know we all love you Trotzie. (couldn't resist, it was too funny)
Calgary has stolen our theme song!?
okay... Here's something I don't get at all. After The Preds game against The Thrashers saturday night I flipped over to "Hockey Night In Canada" on the NHL network. It was Calgary vs. Edmonton. Ok, ready for this?.....They were playing our "I Like It, I Love It" song at the game in Calgary. Huh? Wha? Why in the heck are they playing a song that says "don't know what it is about the Predators scoring, but i like it, i love it, i want some more of it" at a Calgary game!? I am downright puzzled by this one. If they had changed it to "don't know what it is about Calgary scoring" I could almost understand. Wait, actually, I would be double offended that they stole our song and changed it to say "Calgary". That is our song.... get your own song!!!! I don't like it, I don't love it, I don't want any more of it! Ya feel me?
Questionable officiating last night?
Now I'm not one to harp on the refs too often. I reserve my criticisms for times when I feel there has really been an egregious error. I had the fortune of sitting just three rows off the glass last night, right in front of the play where Smithson got "high-sticked". It actually looked more like a crosscheck to the face than a high-stick. The ref was nearby, there was no way he didn't see it. Everybody in sections 113-114 were on their feet shouting immediately. Then, Columbus picks up the puck and scores a tying goal as a result. Boy, did that anger the crowd! It's been a while since I've heard that many boos. This was an obviously blatant missed-call by the ref. Lets hope we don't see this clown in any playoff games this year.
