Big Blue View Braylon Edwards

I don't have time to make my case now but I needed to say that  Edwards would add an important piece to our young receiving corps . A veteran receiver who could work with our young corp and help motivate, not to mention the talent he would bring. His stats with the Jets were more than respectable and he would be a good new weapon for Eli.He's a proven solid route runner and and strong on the vertical run.  Obviously the Giants were looking for a veteran receiver (hence, the Plaxico meeting or was that just a half hearted attempt for the "we owe  it to Plaxico" publicity...I honestly think that  was not the case, It' not how the Giants do things..we have more integrity than most. So what are we waiting for? Let's make a move for  Edwards. Can we afford him.? We didn't empty the bank on Bradshaw, so is it economically feasible? I think so!

Every year for  three years I here about how good our young receiving team is and how much depth we have and how receiver is not a big concern of ours. After what happened to our  receiving corps last year your comfortable with going into the season with  only 2 proven strong starters? (Nicks and Manningham)

Hixon who I've always liked and had high  hopes for, I can't bank on anymore.  Is he that much of a lock to stay healthy after the long and arduous rehab he went through?  I don't really have to say much more about the situation with our remaining receivers because I know you guys see the picture.  Last thing, I wish the best to Victor  Cruz (who I believe is healthy this year) on having a great camp and who in the near future will hopefully  add another weapon to the Giants receiving core!!

I guess I made my case after all and will pay the price in the morning..but it was worth it ! I was obsessing about this all day and would talk to anyone who would listen to me.

It's gonna be a very tough year my fellow giant fans but not tough enough to keep us out  of the playoffs!

Eli will kick ass this season,

Holdsworth

Big Blue View DEZ BRYANT

PICK DEZ BRYANT!!

Why didn't we pick Dez Bryant? A sure shot explosive receiver who could spread the field with his great speed. At the same time he would probably have motivated our other  receiver's with his energy and toughness.

I think Hakeem is terific with his aggresive style of catching the ball (11 NFL leading touchdowns) and ability to gain yards after the catch . I'm looking forward to seeing what Manningham can do now that he will be our second receiver. We've all seen great bursts from him and now he gets to fly and use his sppeed to make things happen, ,hopefully.

With all that said,we still should have picked Bryant. Instead of picking Bryant we load up with defensive backs!

Tell me there weren't a few of you who wanted our first pick to be Bryant. ...why not choose the BEST pick and forget about NEED for a second. Especially when our pick (a work in progress) Jason Pierre -Paul  wasn't a real need, considering we were going to pick a slew of defensive players during the draft , not to mention most of our free agent  picks.

Why did we pass on an ready to start explosive receiver. Let's LOAD UP on receivers! We want to win the Super Bowl THIS YEAR! Our offensive line is getting old but they are still on of the best. That won't last long as we've already evidenced by  recent injuries plaguing the line . You can't win super bowl without an effective offensive front. I'm sad to say, rebuilding time for our line is nearing.

Forget SUPPOSED NEED for once and pick the best player available. that was Dez Bryant.

Even if Bryant has some baggage...everyone seems to have issues these days. I think Coughlin could set Dez staraight , Don't you? '

If you're going to give Eli an elite salary, why not give him an elite first round pick. We always play it so close to the cuff. I'm tired of saying that I like (for the most part I do) our low key grow from within style  organization. I think the Giant franchise is one of the best in the NFL...but don't pass up on Bryant when you're lucky enough that he is still on the board.

We seem to love Burris with all hisproblematic quirks an had things gone differntly we would have taken him back after his seasion ending ( I thing appropriate ) suspension. This problematic person turned out being one of the Giants best ever receivers just ask Eli.

I'm just saying, can't we get a little crazy and LOAD UP on our receiving  core (injuries do happen you know) and take a chance on a sure shot receiver, with some issues?

Anyway, lets score early on Sunday and hope that our "Sleeping Giant " defense wakes up and does what we know what they are capable of  .

Holdsworth.

PS this goes out to my football/music  lovers out there. How many good  gutsy  female rockers have there been? You're contributions are appreciated . Hint: I'm sure, you'll be surprised, as I was, how few there are!
