Broncos and Jets similar?

Broncos and Jets similar?

Source: Tebow Going to Jags or Jets by Tomorrow

8

This is from News 4, their television station. Probably more credible than just "rumors." This could happen tomorrow. Tim Tebow, whose stardom rose to national levels this past season as he led the Denver Broncos to nine wins and a playoff defeat of the Pittsburgh Steelers, is expected to be traded to either the Jacksonville Jaguars or the New York Jets by midday on Wednesday, a source close to Tebow told Channel 4's sister station, WKMG in Orlando.

Where Will Tebow Go?

Today, it's a bittersweet day. I am still grieving with the possible "trade" of Tebow. Since EFX hasn't said, Tim won't be traded. My assumption (as well as from rumors) is that he is on the...

Source: Tebow wants out of Denver; Expected to request a trade after Manning decision

86

From another Broncos thread. I found this to be the sad reality of the Manning fall out. I for one, wouldn't blame Tebow. He was was misled to believe they were "all in" helping him develop to be the QB of the Broncos. Here is the quote: I was contacted tonight by a source who I used to talk to regularly, but haven't heard from in awhile. He's a guy who had given me some good information in the past, and I fully trust the information he's relayed to me tonight. To cut straight to the point, he's told me that information he's received today says that regardless of how this Manning situation turns out, Tebow will be asking for a trade once the dust clears and Manning has made a decision. He's not asking to go to a specific team, and he does not require a starting role. The source says that he's disappointed that the Broncos are not showing any confidence in him, and he's being advised that he'd be better off in another organization. The source says Tebow is currently being tight-lipped about this - he's wanted to go public but his advisors have told him to wait until the smoke clears on the Manning situation. Story is clearly developing...

Chatter Keeps Growing: The "Mystery Team"

37

Here is more fuel to the fire from Don Banks of SI. "• To repeat, I think Philadelphia and Denver make the most sense as a mystery team in the RGIII sweepstakes, because the Eagles can get out of their Michael Vick contract after 2012, and John Elway is said to be impressed with Griffin and his pass-first, run-later skill set. The No. 15 Eagles and No. 25 Broncos could be motivated enough to join the likely suitors of No. 4 Cleveland, No. 6 Washington and No. 8 Miami.." My take: I think this is crazy. Mortgage the future with uncertainty.

Is there a mystery team after RG3?

20

Saw this on the front page of Fox Sports. Crazy. ". . . .but one mystery team might be the Broncos. John Elway loves the Heisman winner, and it’s been no secret that their scouting department did extensive homework on college quarterbacks last fall. Then again, Elway may just hope that Ryan Tannehill falls to them." Love RG3 but not for the Broncos with their need at DT, CB, S and RB.

"Scott Enyeart @ScottEnyeart UCLA OC Noel Mazzone is Tebow's private QB coach. Which is why he was on campus." Good to hear that Tebow has a private QB coach.

Tim Tebow: The Most Lear Center-y Celebrity

+

An interesting read from USC. An academic blog on the Tebowmania this year. Worth reading. Few public figures exemplify the work we do at the USC Annenberg Norman Lear Center more than Tim Tebow. The Lear Center studies and shapes how entertainment and media impact society; and over the past year, the Tebow phenomenon has traversed numerous societal categories that help explain his meteoric rise in both popularity and disdain.

I just want to thank the Broncos, Fox, Elway and Tebow for an incredible season! Rather than critique what went wrong, I want to focus on a miraculous run. This is truly a season to remember! Go Broncos.

Winning Isn't Everything for Tebow

6

Peter King on this article: I think NFL.com writer Jeff Darlington's piece out of Denver last night gives you a good view into Tim Tebow that you may have heard about but didn't know how it worked. Each game, home and road, Tebow has as his guest a young person who has gone through some medical or personal struggle, and win or lose, he spends 15 to 30 minutes with the person and his/her family afterward. On Sunday, after the loss to New England, Tebow met with brain-tumor victim Kelly Faughnan and her family. While Tebow and Kelly spoke, her father said to Darlington: "I can't begin to tell you the impact he's had on my daughter. She's very positive, and she tries so hard, but she's had a struggle. Tim Tebow has built her self-confidence up so much -- taught her to believe in herself -- that when I see people criticize him, I'm just dumbfounded. I don't get it. It's almost incomprehensible to me. I don't understand why anyone wouldn't want to see an athlete use his position and platform to do good for people." And that's Tebow. Forget his religion, forget his politics (if he has any). He's a good person who does good things. He's not the only one, and we in the media are remiss pointing out what other players do. But that shouldn't be a criticism of Tebow. I've found him genuine, as the dad says. Read more: http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2011/writers/peter_king/12/19/Week15/index.html#ixzz1gzzbyP6k

Freakonomics: Tebow's Timing

The key to the last nine weeks have been two factors: Incredible Timing in the Fourth Quarter and Faith.

Robert Kraft on Raining on Tebow Train

3

On Tim Tebow: "He’s a fine young man. I kind of like it that he’s about spirituality, that the country is thinking about spirituality. Hopefully a lot of technical skill is going to have to go with that. I’m hoping we can rain on the parade a little bit . . . He’s been unbelievable the past 6-7 weeks . . . I think he’s great for the NFL. The kind of young man he is, the values he represents. I think it’s terrific. We just want to bring him down to earth this weekend."

A New Verb

Mike Tomlin, after victories, can be a funny and feisty sort. Not at his press conference, but in his locker room. And Thursday night, 50 minutes after the Steelers beat the Browns with the John Wayne performance of Ben Roethlisberger, he called out to Roethlisberger from his coaches' locker room as his quarterback limped past. "Hey Ben!'' cackled Tomlin. "You Tebowed 'em!''

Shanahan: Tebow controversy will never end

1

FOXBORO - The Broncos' current brass has faced charges of being slow to embrace Tebow-mania. On Wednesday, Denver's former capo di tutti capi said that's probably going to be the case for a long time because Tim Tebow is so unconventional. Mike Shanahan, who won two Super Bowls with the Broncos, began by saying during a conference call with New England media that Tebow's work in Denver is "kind of great."

Karlos Dansby on Tim Tebow on Jim Rome

Here is a great show of respect by one of the linebackers that faced Tebow. He wishes Tim success and says that this game saw God's anointing on Tebow. Interesting quote.

Tony Dungy Compares Tebow to Bill Russell

2

Here is a quote: That’s the point that people are missing. Winning is tied to confidence and expectations, and that’s what makes Tim Tebow special. He expects to win and that rubs off on other people. Winners have that quality. It’s hard to explain, it’s hard to quantify, but it’s real. Some people are winners and there is no other way to explain it. Worth the read. Love Tony Dungy.

What Tebow Can't Do

A great article onTimmy's limitations. You can add your own here. "Timmy can't fly." (yet). But all he does is WIN!

Tebow was Targeted By the Vikings at 30

9

From a revisionist perspective, we can only lament at what ifs. It's interesting two teams are lamenting on not drafting Tebow. One is the Jaguars. The other is this weeks opponent the Vikings. They were one of the six teams on the draft that we're interested in Tebow* (Cleveland, Patriots, Denver, Buffalo, Seattle and Minnesota). When McDaniels move up the Vikings had to scramble. Great article on what happened. *from draft board from Everything In Between.

Are we any closer to know if we have our QB for the future . . .

10

According to Elway on Vic and Gary, the answer is no. He has to improve in his third down. I wonder if Tebow will be given time to develop. www.vicandgary.com

NFL Flex Schedule: Any Broncos' Games?

11

According to the Flex Schedule for Sunday games: NBC Sunday Night Football is the beneficiary of the league's new flexible-scheduling system. For the final seven weeks of the season (seven of the final eight weeks during the 2006 and 2011 seasons because of Christmas weekend), the NFL has the flexibility in selecting games to air on Sunday night. Which games do you think, we would get for FLEX Scheduling? My prediction is: Bears and Broncos or Broncos and Patriots if they are still in the playoff race. It's all about ratings.
