Boise State football, learning to love the game!
I've always been a die hard basketball player and fan. Having season tickets to BSU hoops, traveling to NCAA tournaments and steering my kids into playing high school hoops. College football was something I watch just to pass the time before the hoops season began.
When our son was in the fourth grade I took him to a Jr college football game the day before he was to play in his first soccer game. We had a great time and he seemed to really enjoy himself. The next day at his soccer game one of the other team members had a break away for a sure goal, my son ran around the pack of players and made one of the greatest open field tackles I've ever seen! His coach later told us he was too aggressive to play on this team.
The next year we made one of the best decisions of our lives and moved to Boise. I bought season tickets to BSU hoops and football. After attending our first Boise State football game my fifth grade son said to me he wanted to play football for BSU, I ask him why and he said he like the BLUE field!
Fast forward to Saturday night in the Georgia Dome when Joe Kellogg went down with a knee injury and number 77 put his helmet on. My heart began to beat out of my chest and my hands began to shake, our son was going in to play football for the Boise State Broncos against an SEC team! What a proud moment for my wife and me. My cell phone started buzzing like crazy so I just turned it off to enjoy the moment.
I do love college football...
