Originally from Indiana, I am now a law student down in Atlanta. I enjoy long walks on the beach and discussing whether or not the Colts should rest their starters for the remainder of the regular season.

Interesting new take on 4th and 2
Regardless of political views, I like how this article doesn't blame BB for going for it, but blames the decisions he made which forced him to have to go for it.
Roy Hall Experiment Over?
http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2009/08/13/colts-waive-roy-hall-sign-walter-mendenhall/
Courtesy of D-Bag Mike Florio:
The Indianapolis Colts have announced a series of roster moves.
They've waived/injured receiver Roy Hall, a fifth-round pick in 2007. If unclaimed by any other team, he'll land in injured reserve.
Also, the Colts inked running back Walter Mendenhall, the brother of Steelers running back Rashard Mendenhall, who was a first-round pick in the 2008 draft.
The Colts also waived guard Tom Pestock, signed defensive end Rudolph Hardie, and activated receiver Sam Giguere from the physically unable to perform list.
I wonder if this is just for this pre-season game or if he's gone for good.

Best places for Colts Tweets?
Hey, guys. Like a lot of other people, I'm hopelessly refreshing my browser and searching the internet for any news on Colts camp. Stampede Blue has done a great job of linking us to some people that are giving us great feedback from camp via Twitter. This is the first time I've ever viewed Twitter as a useful information outlet instead of something that egocentric teenagers use.
Can someone in SB Nation compile a list of the best places to look for Colts Tweets? I have a few that have been linked to in articles, but would be really interested to know if anyone has any others that haven't been announced. Thanks. GO HORSE!

Moore and Mudd get their jobs back.
Good news for us!
http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2009/07/25/colts-get-full-green-light-on-mudd-and-moore/
In a development that surely will prompt employees of some other teams to roll their eyes and attribute the news to the perceived power and influence of Colts president and G.M. Bill Polian, the NFL reportedly has informed the 32 teams that consultants have no limitations on their game-day activities.
Jason LaCanfora of NFL Network reported during the most recent edition of Total Access (which I watched listened to on my Palm Pre while driving this morning) that the league office sent an e-mail this week to all clubs explaining the official position on the rules applicable to consultants.
Essentially, the rules are there ain't no rules (yeah, we're good for a Moonface quote every once in a while).
As LaCanfora explained, this means that former Colts offensive line coach Howard Mudd and former Colts offensive coordinator Tom Moore will be able to do anything and everything on game day.
So, basically, they can do what they did as full-time employees, even though they no longer are -- and even though they have been replaced, at least in title.
That's great news for the Colts, who already are dealing with extensive turnover at various other coaching positions, including head coach, defensive coordinator, and special-teams coordinator.

Jersey question from a new fan.
Hey, y'all. As some of you know, I'm new to Talking Chop and new to the Braves in general. Still, I have watched every game thus far and am gong to my first game at Turner Field on Tuesday! Either at the game or before hand, I'd like to get a hat and a Jordan Schafer jersey. Schafer's new, I'm new. He's from Indiana, I'm from Indiana. His number is 24, I'm 24 (that's the point where I am reaching for similarities and stop). From what I see online, there are only like four players that have replica jerseys available. Would I have to get one custom made? Or does anyone know if they sell jerseys for the entire roster at the ballpark?
I was just wondering if people had recommendations for places around Atlanta I should look, whether to buy it online to save money, or what my chances are of finding one at Turner Field. Thanks for the input... GO BRAVES!!!

Fun Game: Pick the new coach
So, Caldwell is our new coach, and we're all going to support him 'cuz he has the respect of Irsay, Polian, Dungy, Manning & Co. However, there are a lot of good coaches out there this year and the Colts would have been one of the most desirable teams for a coach that wanted to win. Shannahan, Spagnuolo, Rex Ryan, Mularkay, and some I'm probably forgetting. If we weren't going to keep this all in the family, who would you have been most psyched about the Colts hiring?

What About Marv?
So, I know we've been debating 88 all season. I don't think he's lost a step, but him and Peyton just haven't clicked like they used to. Well, yesterday Peyton was a machine. The ESPN AFC South Blog even has an interesting breakdown of how Peyton loved throwing to his right side....Marv's normal side.
I can't decide what was more impressive: Peyton's performance or the fact that he did it with WRs lined up at unusual spots. Going into the game, I assumed Gonzo would play in Marv's spot like he did last year. Instead, they had Reggie move. If our offense could do more than 1.8 yards a carrey, we would really have something.
Would you all feel more comfortable if they started Gonzo over Marv in the playoffs? Also, did this game make it a lot more tempting for Polian to give Marv his walking papers after the season?
