James Posey Anyone??

Yea i was just wondering, since we lost extra e, a guy we could go after would be james posey. I like him better than redd, mo evans, nochbar or whoever else you name...he can space the floor and hopefully he can still play enough d....i say if we go after him we wont miss extra e at all (but we all know he'll still be in our hearts)..maybe we can use our room exception as our amnesty bid..or hope he clears waivers for the minimum.....

Posting and Toasting Is 'Melo worth Donnie Walsh

Yes we finally got our guy, but at what cost.  I know we gave up "everything and the kitchen sink", but what is being overlooked is how we got him.

Walsh continually lowballed the Nuggets (rightfully so) knowing the Knicks are Anthony's preferred choice, but Dolan's impatience may have cost us the finest front office member we had since I can remember...

Following the celebration of landing our guy I came across multiple reports that the deal was all Thomas, Dolan, Rose, and Worldwide Wes, completely undermining Walsh and destroying everything he worked so hard and patiently to build up.  I can't find the link to this specific story, but someone says that Walsh is done, and the Carmelo deal was the last draw.  Luckily Walsh is still a professional and wouldn't purposely hurt the team as retaliation.  But i hope April 30th (or whenever the day is) comes and Dolan picks up Walsh's option because personally i would hate for Thomas to come in after the season and screw up everything walsh has done.

So with that i ask you.....was Carmelo worth Donnie Walsh, or all these reports overblown

BTW heres Wojanowski's link:

Posting and Toasting Free Troy Murphy

Whats up fellow P&T'ers.......while we still probably have some residual highs from our recent two wins (and a potential 3rd in LA tonight.....a nice situation has opened up in new jersey...Troy Murphy and his talent is rotting on the bench....Favors has been better at this stage than expected, and Avery likes the Favors/Humphries combination at the 4.

So why don't we go ahead and grab Troy Murphy and actually put him to use...

Follow me after the jump and for a nice tidbit of info regarding Ronny Turiaf at the end......

Posting and Toasting The return of Jared Jefferies?

Stumbled across this masterpiece of an article suggesting the Rockets buy out Jared Jeffieres, so he can return to the knicks:

http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/basketball/knicks/2010/11/15/2010-11-15_jared_jeffries_nearly_negotiated_buyout_that_would_have_returned_rockets_forward.html

My thinking is is this really neccesary.  At this point our defense is better than our offense and jared wouldnt help the fact that we cant throw a tennis ball in the atlantic ocean.....would we grab him and just flip him in a trade to you know where for you know who...or can he bring something unique to the table that makes him valuable.....i just see him as too much of an offensive liability to help

Do you think Jared Jefferies would help the Knicks?

Posting and Toasting Melo Deal Update

I know we're all tired of the carmelo rumors.....but theres one report that the NJ deal is falling apart and melo is pushing nugs management for a trade to nyk..

apparently donnie is working on a deal that includes gallo, ar, and DWTDD....

that is exactly what we DONT want......why would we give up all these pieces for a one dimensional scorer.(even if he is rele good at that)....

anyway heres the story

lets hope donnie continues to play hardball, but i think he is succumbing to the pressure to bring another star to nyk

Posting and Toasting antoine walker anyone??

this may sound like a crazy idea...but i think the knicks should sign antione walker to a nonguaranteed contract since he is looking for a squad and is in contact with 4-6 teams...let him come in and earn his spot in training camp.  i think that if he has the right mindset he can really help this knicks squad..

Posting and Toasting KNICKS OFFSEASON GRADE

I was just wondering what my fellow P&T'ers thought about how successfull we were during the offseason since it is coming to a close....obviously we were all a little dissapointed that James took his talents to south beach but that would have been too easy...and good teams are built through patience...intelligence..and luck.  But since the chips have fallen, what grade would u give our club.

that being said...i wanted to know what my fellow P&T'ers think....where the knicks will finish the season....im thinking seed 5-7  too optimistic?

Posting and Toasting best knick future

I honestly believe that while lebron could return the knicks to glory, the best option for the knicks would be for lebron to sign elsewhere...so we can use that money to build a contender through a few years..
