Settle it on the field...

From ESPN and our favorite genius Sam Bradford:

Some Texas fans wanted to remind Oklahoma fans of their earlier victory over the Sooners Oct. 11 in Dallas by flying over the stadium before and during the game with a banner that read "45-35 settled on a neutral field" prominently displayed.

Oklahoma quarterback Sam Bradford noticed and wondered if the whole BCS process hasn't gotten to be too political.

"To me, that's a little ridiculous," Bradford said. "If it comes to that and doesn't happen on what happened on the football [field], maybe we might need to start looking into another direction.

If Bradford is saying what i think he is saying, or at least what Tim Griffin's writing leads me to think, then he is a complete moron. Flying a banner above the field with the score of the game that ALREADY settled the UT-OU debate is not political.

It is a reminder to voters that the better team was already shown to be Texas. So, yeah, you know, i dunno...

Because it will make you want to die. It makes me want to vomit/diarrhea and then die.

As hard as yesterday's loss was to accept, we could still cling to the amazing three game strech prior to it and know that we still have a great team that has accomplished more than any other team this season. And i don't think that's very arguable.

And yet, it seems some are still so quick write us off yet again, after an amazing game that we were thisclose to winning.

Some excerpts:

"The loss seriously damaged Colt McCoy's Heisman campaign. He played well in the second half, but now he's been surpassed. McCoy knocked off Sam Bradford and Chase Daniel in consecutive weeks; now, Graham Harrell has done him in. If Tech keeps rolling, there's no way Harrell can be denied the trophy."

If Harrell wins a Heisman trophy, I think I will lose my mind. He is a good quarterback and certainly has played well this year, but i just don't see how you can put him at the front of the Heisman trophy race. But i guess that's why many of us hate the Heisman's hype: It seems like a prize to the team that is hyped at the time.

"So now that there's an opening at the top of the polls, does Tech occupy it? No other undefeated team has a win that's even close to tonight's. Sure, Alabama beat Clemson when the Tigers were #9 and Georgia when the Dawgs were #3. They were both overrated, and I suppose you could make the case that Texas was too."

All there is to say is WTF????? This loss hurt, but did anyone think that anyone would be saying we were overrated in the mold of CLEMSON or GEORGIA???

We have three of the best wins that any team has this season, back to back to back. And we almost beat a damn good Tech team in Lubbock. Overrated? I'll leave this to y'all to rip.

Just did the math. Colt has now thrown 14 tds vs. 20 incompletions. Ridiculous. Lets hope OU's young secondary acts young in a couple weeks. Not as scared of Missouri in Austin (but probably should be).

Also, i wonder what's keeping the offensive staff from just running cody johnson exclusively. McGee may have better straight up speed, but he doesnt have the moves for that to matter too much (or at least hasn't shown us any reason to believe otherwise). Perhaps they are just saving some stuff for OU (we always say that, can anyone give one good example of that actually happening?).

Johnson isn't the home run threat, but with fozzy out i don't know that we even have that right now. Which doesn't concern me too too much with as well as colt and the receiving group is playing (kirkendoll's long catch today was very encouraging), and cody has shown that he can pick up yards when we need them. How good does that feel? Don't have to bring in a D lineman to move the chains on short yardage situations.

I think having that back that can get yards when you need them is significantly more valuable and essential to an offense than a guy who is always a threat to have a big run but may only do so once or twice a game (or not at all). I'm happy that we may have a solid short yardage running game.
