I don't follow recruiting THAT closely, so I'm looking to PB or PHF to fill us in on our newest potential Horn.

So the Horns have their 15th commmit for 2008, a DT I know nothing about.  But I have been wondering this for a while now: why is it so hard to get good defensive linemen?  Is it the state of Texas?  Is that our high school football Achilles' heel?  Where's our next Casey Hampton?  

Or is it everywhere?  Are defensive linemen just a rare breed?

Also, if anyone out there (you know who I'm talking to, PHF) knows anything about this guy, I'd like to know what you think of our newest potential Horn.

Is it too early to talk about 2008 prospects?  What am I saying, it's never too early.

So, here's my real question: what' the story on 2008 RB prospect Jermie Calhoun?  Supposedly the best back in the state, he wants to come to Austin, and we would like to accomodate him in that regard.  That's all I know.  Anybody know more (PHF, I'm looking at you)?

54b, I'm curious about your feelings on this subject, but I'd like anyone else's opinions as well.

I meant to pose this question a while back, when it was mentioned in Texas Monthly, but forgot.  Their latest issue was the Bum Steer Awards, in which they mentioned UT because we had the lowest graduation rate in the Big 12.  I remember when this study first came out, and I remember reading some message board stuff on it, but I don't remember it being mentioned here.

My question for 54b or anyone else with inside knowledge is, basically, if this is total bullshit.  Does UT emphasize graduation?  Is there some reason that UT doesn't graduate as many players as other schools in the Big 12?  Was this study old and outdated, and Mack Brown does a better job than the Macs of old?  Does anyone out there even give a shit about whether or not the players graduate?  Did Texas deserve to be a Bum Steer?

Can someone explain something to me? I bought my tickets through UT. I'm not a season ticket holder, so that means I don't have priority in where my seats are. But should I also be worried that I won't get tickets at all? And I think I should be finding out soon, but I don't know when. Thanks for the help.

I see that the Titans/Giants game is on Sunday at 3:15 on FOX.  Does anyone know if that's the 3:15 game that's going to be shown in this area?  Am I finally going to get to see Vince start a game?  As a Vince and Cowboys fan, I'm really hoping for a Titans win.  And with the Giants reeling a bit, it should be an interesting game.
