The Dolphins have reportedly contacted free agent CB Ty Law about possibly joining the team.

Law would have to show he is in shape first and he always seems to want more money than he's worth. The Dolphins, though, are thin at the position and have some injuries. Law was drafted by Bill Parcells in New England, so he knows the system. Source: South Florida Sun-Sentinel Parcells must still have faith in this guy. Not sure if it's a good move or not

Fins release Culver; sign SS Condren

Dolphins released S Tyrone Culver.

Culver had a key penalty late in Sunday's game against the Texans, and now he's hitting the streets. Source: Palm Beach Post Dolphins signed S Brannon Condren.
Condren was a late-round draft pick of the Colts in 2007. He replaces the recently released Tyrone Culver

Rotoworld says he's been cut. So do we bring him back because the guy that replaced him lasted only one game before getting cut himself? Are they sold on Cramer? I don't see him lasting thru the off-season either.

Yeremiah Bell to sign extension?

The Dolphins are speaking with SS Yeremiah Bell about a possible contract extension.

Bell signed a one-year deal after last season, but he missed all of 2007 with an injury. He has been impressive during training camp and the Dolphins have high hopes for him this season. Source: Miami Herald Must be making a really big impression on the new regime this year.

The Dolphins have signed Ricky Williams to a one-year contract extension that will keep him in the Miami backfield through 2009, a source close to the veteran running back said.

The source, speaking on condition of anonymity, told ESPN's Chris Mortensen on Saturday that there was no signing bonus, but Williams' salary in 2009 could increase significantly over this year's base of $730,000.

The Miami tailback can increase his 2008 compensation with easily achievable incentives, the source said. Williams, 31, was scheduled to be a free agent in '09.

Dolphins officials had no comment on Williams' new pact.

Williams, the 2002 NFL rushing champion, has played in only 13 games since retiring in the summer of 2004. He has tested positive for marijuana at least four times since the Dolphins acquired him in 2002, and their franchise-record playoff drought began that same year.

In July, the 1998 Heisman Trophy winner said he felt good going into the Dolphins' season.

The Dolphins, coming off an embarrassing 1-15 season, are banking that he does.

Williams returned last year, but his comeback lasted less than one half. He gained only 15 yards on six carries before he fumbled, was stepped on and tore his chest muscle against Pittsburgh. Teamed with Ronnie Brown, who was on pace for a career season in 2007 before he tore a ligament in his right knee, Miami's running backs have lofty expectations.

One of Parcell's boys back w/ the BOYS

Cowboys agreed to terms with S Keith Davis, formerly of the Dolphins.

Davis is a special teams demon, but is unlikely to play safety much. The Cowboys went heavy on cornerbacks, keeping seven after final cuts. Look for Alan Ball or Evan Oglesby to get released to make roster room.

Ronnie Brown on the block???!!

ESPN's Chris Mortensen reported on Monday Night Countdown that Ronnie Brown could be on a team other than the Dolphins by Week 1.

Huh? Mortensen is probably Bill Parcells' mouthpiece here, and the Tuna may be trying to drum up interest. Brown has struggled in the preseason after ACL surgery, but is only 26. While Ricky Williams supplanting Brown as a starter is possible, we wouldn't expect any trade. We would expect Brown's precarious fantasy value to take a hit as his stock in the organization is dimming
