Why Don't we "Goon-up"

More and More as I read the blogs, listen to the podcasts and radio shows, scour the trade rumors, its becoming more and more evident that their are no trades or moves on the Bull's horizons. I could entertain myself with the trade machine and build reasonable trades that Paxson will not be able to execute at all, but instead of trade for a big low post presence or a shooting guard over 6'3 I suggest the Bulls become the Knicks circa late 90s.

Any trade we execute for a scoring presence is going to jeopardize the wet dream fantasy of 2010 and perhaps only midly help us, maybe it could even hurt us. We have become too invested in our prospects and like bad investments I always feel their about to shoot the roof and reach their potential. I hate trading low like we did with Tyson.

But we suck at D, mostly interior D and this run and gun approach is only helping BG and Larry build up decent numbers. My suggestion is to embrace the Noc, lets become goons.

It can be done on the chep scour the D league and castoffs for some big wide bodies to become hack a machines and use them off the bench to destroy the other team.

people will stop going insid eon us when the realize they could lose a limb. I want thugs. They're cheap and we can use them to protect D-Rose.

Bring on Basket ball versions of the Hanson Brothers

An aside here: Thomas has the ability to be what Wallace was. Thomas also had three blocks, putting his average on the season now at 2.29, which is seventh in the league. It's all about effort for Thomas. If he eschewed the jumper and chased everything, like Wallace and Dennis Rodman did…..Of course, that's what made Wallace and Rodman special. It's also why, I think, the Bulls are holding out hope for Thomas. If someone could get him to compete relentlessly, you would have something.

This blog is so pro-tyrus, we have been amazed by his freakish ability to leap out of the Gym.

But I am starting to question whether this kid will ever 'get' it.

If I could but the manic energy of Noc into this player I would. he needs to focus on defense and rebounding and hustle plays.

But I fear that he will never be the player we want him to be.

Part of that is nobody is telling him what he needs to do. and he is unrealistic about his abilities. I remember hearing about how he wanted to work on his threes during the off season and how when he was drafted he wanted to play small foward. My point is that he wants to be thought of as a skilled player when his skill set at this point should be a defensive stopper and energy player.

He seems to think he needs to make 15 footers to be effective offensively.

We should not be putting him in that position. he needs to play off the ball, I picture a better ben wallace in his prime. That being said we need to pair him with a good offensive threat.

Are you ready to give up on tyrus yet? What type of player do you want him to be?

5 reasons the Bulls will be Better than Expected

With what has been written about the Bulls from various predictions you would think they were the Knicks. The Sky is not falling and the Bulls will do better than people are expecting.
Reasons

1.	VDN is not Skiles-When people are making their predictions they usually think of a rookie coach as one of the negatives. It makes sense less experience is not usually a good thing except when you are following Scowls. Okay follow me here we have a lot of young players, whose development was hampered from a coach who did not allow mistakes. From his time there he quickly developed a core unit which was great but skiles couldn’t adapt to new personal. The team changed but he wasn’t able to integrate new players and he developed favorites despite the increasing talent on his team. A coaching change will add wins to this team not take them away, each player starts with a new page which will be almost like a trade. Players will be eager to please the new coach, players will buy in effort level will increase. In the end we lost a lot of games because of effort levels, players just gave up. Very un-bull like
2.	Cause Derrick Rose will make a difference- usually a top pick is a plus not a minus but people think Rose will take some time to develop and this will increase the teams losses. Good point but wrong, Rose will be good this year and he will win ROY. When is the last time a Bull won ROY? Rose will be much better than expected. I believe one of the reasons the Bulls shot so poorly as has been documented is that they were a known quantity. Teams had scouted them they knew their offense and how to disrupt it. Their players were not going to surprise anybody n anymore. Rose is an unknown and quick and will give the older pgs of the east a lot of trouble. As well as chaning the chemistry of the team.
3.	Drew Gooden will make people forget about Joe Smith/PJ Brown/Eddie Curry - not very hard but each of these players was an actual offensive threat in the half court. Our outside shooters make the life of inside players very easy, Gooden is an actual threat and people are discounting his contribution. When we made the trade with Clev, Gooden was the only player we wanted, we took hughes as a concession. He will average 18 and 8 which is very scary. GO ahead flame me for saying it just remember it when it happens you heard it hear first. Okay part of this comes from thonus but I still think Gooden is due for a huge year.
4. Hinrich will bounce back- not much to say I just think last year was an abberation for him and this year he will be improved. If he doesn’t then the nocioni deal looks like highway robbery on the Bulls part.
5. Hughes will be moved and Gordon will be signed to a long term deal.- I just don’t see the bulls keeping Hughes not only does he have all the makings of a malcontent but he sucks as well. He needs to get moved for anybody or anything . Pick your favorite overpaid bigman and trade for them. Either Hughes or Thabo will be traded, I see the gordon deal happening. To me Gordon-Bulls are like that couple that fights all the time in public but at the end of the night you see them making out in the closet and telling each other they love them.

Ludicrous trades

Hey I just wanted to start a thread for all the ludicrous trades that have been proposed from other sites.

I thought about this cause living in Houston there's a lot of bloggers who want Hinrich.

They're proposing hinrich/gordon/deng for t-mac and a hospital bed.

Its been making me laugh, and making me wistful for Sam Smith.

anyways its good for a quick laugh, they drink the kool aid deep in H-town

http://thedreamshake.blogspot.com/2008/05/did-lottery-results-help-rockets-too.html

this ones a bit more realistic...

http://blogs.chron.com/fantasyfootball/2008/05/as_a_rocket_fan_im_happy_the_b.html

I also saw maggette for hinrich not sure where though
