Five wishes I have for this season
Now it would be very easy to say that the huskers win the big 12 title and go bcs bowling. Have several all Americans and clean up on the post seasons awards. While in the process beating Texas but what are some the other things that would make this season a great one not a good one.
DESTROY TEXAS.....Yes I know that I just said that in the beginning paragraph that it shouldn't be the goal is to beat them. I just want them sent home with there tail between there legs. I first want to point out that i respect the longhorns and think Mack Brown is one of the better coaches out there. He graduates his players, you don't hear a lot of kids getting in trouble. With that being said, please Bo, unleash the hounds when we play them. Make the qb cry running away and saying "Blow the whistle, BLOW THE WHISTLE" ( from necessary roughness ) Than find a Texas fan and say good game and walk away.
Helu has a healthy year.....Helu needs and deserves a year healthy free to really show what he can do. We can all agree that he has a lot of talent. We can also agree that its frustrating not to be able to see it because he gets dinged up. Can you imagine what he can do with an entire year? Think about the numbers he will be putting up.
I have to know
Is there anybody out there going to miss Texas? After all of the talk that we have done over the course of these last few months. Myself personally have yet to meet a lot of people that is going to miss the Long Horns. In fact quite a few people have said some less than friendly terms about our sooon to be former brethren and would love to know what people think. Though I have a feeling that its going to be mostly people not missing Texas.
What leverage if any does the Big 12 have
After reading that latest post by our man Jon got me to thinking what will Beebe and the rest of the Big 12 have to say to make Neb stay? Can they go in and say hey every year you get to play the championship in Dallas if you win the north. No thank you that sucks. You lose your rivals OU. That hasn't mean as much since the merger and to be honest they have mostly forgotten us. Hell, we are now their FIFTH biggest rival behind Texas and Osu and thats only with the older fans of the sooners. Money? Um, we would probably make more with the big 10 and more tv time. Recruits? Bottom line is this, win and they will come. So what can they do to make it better and I can only come up with really two things that will make it work
Move the championship game to what it was..... Yes the Jerry dome is a great, awesome and huge place to play but it's beyond not fair to the north in playing there every year. Words can't describe how much of an advantage it is for the south and it needs to be balanced a.s.a.p.
Make the divisions East and West instead of North and South..... In this format I propose that In the East you have NU, Baylor, TAMU, Kansas, KSU and ISU. In the west have Texas, OSU, OU, CU, Tech and whatever school they replace Mizzou with because lets be honest. Even my Grandmother in a nursing home with Alzheimer's knows they are going. Its the worst kept secret ever in the history of sports.
Other than that I really don't see a great reason for us to say and the truth as the matter is. I just want to watch the Huskers play sports and it's not football season yet. So we get to beat the living daylights out of this subject.
Aaryn Bouzos is N
The Huskers picked up commit #7 today, a safety from California. While on film this kid looks to be a smart and sound tackler, the thing that stands out is that there is not a lot of info on this kid. Most recruits that are on the various websites have scads and scads of video's and what not on the web. This recruit is the total opposite of that with out even a you tube showing his skills. His numbers suggest that he will be a solid player in the future though.
Height 5'11
Wt 185
40 is a nice 4.5
Bench 315 and Squat is 450
Body size though suggests that he can add on 20 pounds or so of muscle mass that hopefully won't slow him down any. While on the field of the one video that I did see has him taking good angles to the ball carrier and wrapping him up. Some of his picks look to be from reading the qb instead of just using his size to take the pick. That's a good sign because the next level you have to be able to read the offense because there won't be many below average qbs. Hips look to be fluid as he is not that stiff in his cuts and turns to move around in the secondary.
Again this is from ONE video so please don't hold this against me but I have total faith in this staff that they see a starter to offer a scholarship. And I give this guy Three corn cobs out of five ( I mean stars are nice but we are the cornhuskers for the love of pete )
Is Bo our version of Bill Parcells?
For those of you who do not know I like two things, first is that I try to put things in perspective by comparing them to something. Either in the past or what is going on now, i.e., history, different teams and so forth. Second, I am a huge fan of Bill Parcells. Like him or hate him you can't argue with his results and say what you will but he can build great teams. Is he a royal a**hole? Yes. Does he build winning teams? Yes.
Parcells has a formula when he drafts players and its a fairly simple one. First, no one year wonders. Anybody that had one great season and that's it more than likely got passed over. Second is that they must have won at least an x amount of games depending on the position. Quarterback, for instance, was normally in the 25 to 35 range. His philosophy was that you need to be a winner at the lower level to get to win at a higher level. Third and most important is attitude. No I am the best player and my talent can take me as far as I want to go. Someone like JaMarcus Russell would have lasted maybe and I do mean maybe 5 minutes with Parcells. Just would not happen because attitude is infectious. Lastly is body structure, he would take a flier on a less than ideal body type. But for the most part he liked a certain body type to each position.
Now this is the part where I do the comparing. From Parcells drafting to Bo's recruiting. Since he has become head coach Pelini has basically followed these basic guidelines. Again this is just my honest opinion.
Winning.... Most of the recruits that has been brought in have come from a winning program. Maybe a championship or at least made the playoffs. Winning starts early and success is like a drug.
Mental.... What goes on between your ears is just as if not more important than what goes on outside. How many times have you heard players, coaches and analysts say that exact same thing? You may be able to run a 4.4 but if you don't know where to run or how to beat a jam than you are no good. Throwing the ball 60 yards from your knees is cool and all but when do you throw it is just as important.
Grades.... You have to be able to play by having good grades period, end of story.
Body structure... Take a look at a position and you will more than likely see a certain theme going. O line for example more than likely will have be tall with a good base and fluid movement. No plodders please. ( insert your Callahan joke here )
Like I said this just my honest opinion but would like some feed back please.
A huge what if scenario about Cody Green
What will Green do if he doesn't win the starting or back-up role of QB for the huskers? Will he transfer? Ride the pine? Try to make himself better and win the job? Or maybe, just maybe, he switches positions not unlike Bobby Newcombe did going to wide receiver. We have on paper very good depth at almost every position except at the WR. Where there we have a couple of seniors and a whole slew of Very Unproven Players.
There is no denying that Green is a physical beast and can flat out run. His body is one that on a good dream mine never looked that good. Arm tackles will not bring him down very easily and he does have enough moves to elude tacklers. The thing is though you can have all of these abilities but never be a good quarterback if you don't have the the know how to do it. Just take the spring game, his deep pass to Will Henry was B E A utiful but some of his other passes were ugh.
And yes he is just a sophomore and yes he needs time to grow there is no denying that but does he have the luxury? Behind him there is Martinez, Washington, Spano and Carnes. Coming in next year you have Turner and a possibility of another QB of the more pocket passer style. Plus the college game is short with only a few seasons to play and more than one talented person has not made onto the field very much. (Insert your Harrison Beck and Sam Keller joke here.) If he moves to wide receiver he can be the man this year. Just think what opposing db's will do having to scheme against Kinnie, Paul, and Green. Bump and run, no. Zone? Better have some tall db's. Blitz? Can we say quick slants.
The basis for my entire thought process on this is based on two things happening. One Zac Lee comes back healthy and plays like he did at the Arizona game and before his injury. Second Martinez takes a firm hold on the back up job. Now I KNOW that there will be some people may say I am crazy for thinking this and I am sure that more than one person will call this article stupid. But hey its the off season and well it hurts to watch our baseball team.
Big ten doing the version of Ten Little Indians
When the Big 10 announced that they are expanding the conference sent shock waves around the country. Suddenly that's what everybody was talking about since Nothing is really going on right now in college football. Sure there are spring games and signing classes but that's a snack compared to the feast of a football season. Now everybody with an opinion is throwing out names and scenarios. From newspapers to blogs to espn and water coolers somebody that has idea is saying it. With one notable exception, the big 10. Outside of the mindless speak of the time frame and other non answers they have said zip which makes me think of the book 10 Little Indians.
Not going to give you a book review but will say if you love a good suspense mystery to read it. The whole book revolves around this one guy Mr. U.N. Owen or unknown. He says on a recording that everybody is going to die one by one because of their past crimes. Than sits back and lets the hysteria spew out. Notice a theme here?
The Big Ten conference is letting everybody do the work for them because you take away Ohio State and Penn State the conference was P.U. Losing in most head to head match ups with other conferences and Getting KILLED in the nc. What's more is the bottom feeders in each sport was not showing signs of being anything great anytime soon.
So if this is what they wanted to do then I say it was a damn smart move. They get national TV exposure and the talk of espn and other syndicated networks. Recruits are being exposed to the teams that they never would have given a second thought too. People are taking notice to a group that was starting to look like a has been to their hey day. The sad thing is that we have a long summer before we have anything else to really talk about.
What do You think about when you hear the word Pipeline
Close your eyes and think about the word pipeline, what are the first thoughts that come to your mind. If its big nasty mean men knocking the living hell out of an opponent then kudos to you. If its anything else than i am truly sorry to hear that and please read on. For those of us that are old enough to have watched the great teams of the 90's it was a treat to have watched those players week in and week out. There were times that by the end of the First HALF teams d line was mailing it in because they were just getting clobbered. It wasn't a big secret what T.O. was going to do, run up the middle and right and left then repeat. Please stop us if you can which didn't happen that very often.
Than the pipeline just kinda of went away. No bells toiling in the background, no eulogies, it just was simply gone. Not over night, not from one season to the next it just slowly died. I never woke up one morning and said well that was fun hope we can recover. Nor was anybody going, hey how about the o line play its losing its edge and swagger. We were to busy yelling about solich and callahan and other things to notice something that we took for granted. Finding homegrown nasty boys that would save a cat from the tree than knock out an opposing d lineman. How many pros have we produced from the decade? Probably as many as one year from our hey day and to the best of my knowledge we have 4. Nicks, Fonuita ( yes I know I misspelled it ) Hochstein and Slausen. The Entire 95 team o line played in the pros that was a basically a run blocking only team.
Bo has the right idea of building a team and it starts up front. The defensive line is good to go but what about the other side. Is it ready to take that important step and lead us to wins. You can have Peyton Manning, Adrian Peterson, Steve Smith and Larry Fitzgerald and if the line doesn't block it won't matter. None of this is news but wanted to say it anyway.
Also a quick side note want to say the reason for this post. i work part time at a food place that has A LOT OF HIGH SCHOOLS STUDENTS. Was talking about the spring game with a customer and we started to talk about the pipeline and it happened. One of my co workers asked "what does the Alaska pipeline have to do with football?"
The ultimate 8 team playoff
Now like most of you bowls are nice but a playoff would be even better. And once again the long off season is apon us and we will be soon clamoring for even a scrap of news about our husker team. Soon stories on what flavor of gum that coach Bo chews will be a headline for sure. So I have come up with a novel play off to keep us occupied. Taking 8 former national champions from the last 20 years or so and letting us the fans vote on who would win. All that I ask is not to be too much of a homer and automatically pick the huskers. so on with the first two teams.
This article has nothing to do with the Huskers
Do not know if some of you have noticed but haven't posted anything as of late, including comments. There is good reason for this and I have decided to share this reason so in the hopes of helping other people. Have a very dear friend of mine that had to do in her words one of the hardest things she has ever done in her life. Told Her mother that her husband of 3 years has routinely beaten and yelled at her causing untold damage and hurt her chances of having kids. She was afraid to to tell her mother this because in her words will not get any support.
Abuse happens more than any of us can ever truly ever know. For every story that we hear about another one happens while we remain bliss. And I just want to tell the rest of corn nation to be supportive if you have a friend that is in a relationship like this. No man ever has the right to beat or hurt a woman and the same goes the other way. If you feel the need to do that SEEk help because help is out there.
If you do know somebody that is in a relationship like that, there is no secret word to help or act that will make it all be better. All you can really do is be supportive and be there for that person. Also as much as you would love to beating on the guy hurting the woman is against the law and definitely not going to help. In fact it can only hurt in the long run.
Sorry that this is a very rough draft but it is very hard to type this kind of article. Just please keep my friend in your prayers.
The four biggest problems that I see
After the game was over and my jaw was picked up from the floor from the shock it took. Started to rant, rave, and throw things in glorious rage. After I was told to shut up from the wife drank my problems away. Wanted to write a post right then and there but waited until i can go over the game with a somewhat cool head.
First problem is something that I haven't realy heard mention, Offensive leadership. On the other side of the ball there is tons and tons of leaders. Def line alone has Suh, Turner and in a way Allen and Crick. Not to mention Asante, Dillard and O'Hanalon. On Offense their is really no vocal, get on my back and lets go type of player. We had that in Swift and Ganz and so many other seniors. In fact there is only one senior starting in Hickman, which is great, for 2010 season. This season nobody on offense has taken that step and it is really hurting us.
Second is so aggravating to me its damn near painful, the penelties. Most of them fall directly on the olines lap, with the holding and fast starts. Even hickman got some and he has the ball! When you throw in the delay in games and illegel substution it just is enough to drive you to drink. ( more than usual that is, right blight? ) They must be at least corrected a little to even begin to move foward to a better program.
my picks for this weekend
Baylor vs iowa st..... Um going to go with they cy team just that eventually they should win a game.
Ku vs the slightly struggling buffs..... Neither team has played inspired def so have to go with jayhawks because at least they now who there qb is.
mizzou vs okie st..... Have to go with the tiggers, okie st has just looked flat this year
atm vs ksu... move along nothing to see here, but if you do ugh um atm in a pillow fight
south car vs Alabama... I'm a ball coach fan and HATE Nick Satan so a piece of me will die by picking alabama
so cal vs the most overrated team in the nation.....please please please fire weiss, hope the irish get blown out, by over a hundred, by the first quarter. Please
Va tech vs the triple option team... have to vote for the hokies to make us look better
the red river game.... I lost a bet so I have to wear a longhorn shirt and please feel sorry for me. Longhorns by at least a td
neb vs leach's pirates.... By at least two tds if Suh steps up his game ( according to the sporting news )
proper fan ettiquete
If any of you was still up for that awesome mizzou game did you get a chance to go to rock em nation? Well somebody did that was a husker fan and to put it bluntly, was an ass. So before another game happens please remember these rules of thumbs.
1.) Would you talk like that in front of your mother and grandmother? This person was using languege that made me blush and my mouth is horrible. SO before you put your foot in mouth think of what to say.
2.) Would you like somebody to talk about your team in the same manner if losing? This is the easiest one of all because if you don't know what its like to have an opposingng fan base be rude as possible. Ask a husker fan that went to a game where Ksu or Cu spanked us nasty. Had a relative called a w***e and worse while somebody else vandalized a husker fan car at a Cu game once. in case your wondering this is not proper behaviour for a true fan to act.
3.) Are you representing your team in a proper fashion? Bo may be a little bit cocky and lets just say he can be gruff but he wouldn't call anybodies fans f****ng Hillbillies ( sorry had to do it ) So if our head coach doesn't do it than we shouldn't either.
So in short its ok to brag about your team but just don't be an ass about it.
The pain of Colorado should be reminder of what Husker fans went thru
For those of you who have watched the agony that has been the Buffaloes this year. Your more than likely a person of one or two camps, either your a glutton for punishment or gleeful of a fallen foe. I'm a little bit of both truth to be told. But no matter what your opinion is you have to admit that there is a lot of similarties to what they are going thru and what we did a few years ago. Week end and week out both of the teams under performed and was just plain lousy. Defense was a joke, turnovers were abundant and the coaching staff was shoveling manure and saying that it was fine to walk thru. How many times did we hear Callahan say that it wasn't the coaching staffs fault or something along those lines. You hear the same things coming from Hawkins. The trouble is we had Dr. Tom and they have nobody like that.
Dr. Tom came back to our program to be our saviour and you could almost hear a sigh of relief coming from the entire Husker nation. CU sadly has nobody that can be that savior and whats worse they may not have the funding to get a top flight coach or to buy out Hawk's contract. So even if the buffaloes go win less in the rest of their games you may see the head coach back again next year.
To truly understand how bad they are just look at some facts, there strength it seems is the running game. So they pass it more than run. Def is awful as well so a strong running game will help that side of the ball, but again they PASS more than run. Which was a downfall of Callahan if I remember correctly. Burned a redshirt for the same guy two years in a row and the season is all ready pretty much in the tubes, Hmm remind you of anyone. There are lots of other reasons why they suck but there is one core reason of all the problems, management.
I hope that they can pull themselves out of this problem. Just don't see how its going to happen and it will take a long, long time to fix
Big changes coming down the pipe in 2011
There will be more than likely a whole new different conference alighment in the near future with the Pac-10 and Big-10 trying to get to twelve teams. This way they can cash in on the chance to have a conference championship game. While this on the surface does not seem like a big deal to the Big-12 in reality it will shift the balance of power away from us even more if we don't try to keep up. Because as of right now to put it bluntly, the south division has carried the conference for quite a few years. And if and when Nebraska returns to prominence in the nation there are too many mid level colleges to really make the North relevant ( sorry to Iowa St, Kansas St and right now Colorado. ) Even Kansas and Missouri doesn't have the draw and the prestige to really make the north a threat year in and out. Because every time they have had an opportunity to step up to the big boy table, well the south just smacks them down and shows who's the boss. Not only do we need some fresh blood to make us a tougher conference but we need to bring in money and TVs to keep up. So I've made a list of teams that are on my wish list. These are facts based solely on chances that could happen by the research. Nobody really can no what is going behind the doors of the administrators. So this is more guesswork and reading between the lines more than anything else.
Nebraska's Three Most Underrated Coaches
Well the bye week is here and we all have to go thru temporary with drawl of the Huskers this weekend. I know that the pain and anguish will all have us talking in tongues and scaring small children but please, try to remain calm. With all the hoopla that is surrounding the team about the players, schedule and anything else that we can read about them. I wanted to point out three coaches that have done a superb job this year that has not been mentioned.
Ron Brown....This was a guy that wasn't even coaching for a few years and he comes back and has done what the previous coaching staff never was able to accomplish, get a quality tight end on the field. Mike McNeill is a future NFL'er at this rate and if you ask anybody outside of the fans they probably couldn't even tell you who he is.
It doesn't end there because there are FOUR other tight ends that probably would be starting for a lot of other teams. All of them do things that are multi tasking, do you want blaocking? Show me who and where. Want me to catch a ball well throw it to me. You can split these guys out, have them lead block, run a crisp route what ever you need they will do.
Coach Brown is the reason behind this. He brings not only a high energy to the team but he is doing something that can not be overlooked. Preparing these kids to be men in life by teaching them the skills neccesary to succeed. ( Which does not include beating up basketball players )
John Papuchis.... Not only are the d-ends stepping up the game by collapsing the pocket and containing the backfield. Barry Turner has really turned the corner and starting to use that ability he showed as a freshman. But the special teams has been really solid and at times awesome this year. The special teams of the Hokies never really got close to blocking the kicking staff and Henery is well a stud.
Take away some bogus flags by the refs and it has been a really clean group this year. No stupid blocking in the back or holding that drives coaches and fans alike mad. A freshman long snapper has done very well and this all leads to preparation. Yes all the coaches in one way or another have a say in this but Papuchis is the one in charge and he has brought new life into this aspect of the game.
James Dobson....Don't know if you noticed but the huskers are just as ready to play in the fourth quarter as they are in the first. The team as a whole looks to be fresher, stronger and more energized than even last year. Now grant it they haven't been really pushed yet except for that one game. But it's safe to say that this team is in very good shape physically and to a player they are saying it was Dobson that helped get them to this point.
During summer all you ever heard was how he was getting them ready and pushing them to get better. So far I say mission accomplished. There is more depth but that doesn't help when the players have more muscle than the are able to carry. Helu is a prime example, he added more muscle without sacrificing speed or stamina. This is very, very important in the late part of the year when the grind really starts to take effect. To out hustle and out work the other team will lead to wins.
The attitude that is now is the one we need
After the Virginia Tech game it was brought up that this may be one of the worst losses in a long time. Than on the radio people were comparing this loss to ones in the past, which got me to thinking about the mindset of the huskers. Two losses stand out that compare to this loss and the attitude that is now surrounding the players. The first one is the Texas tech game where we lost at the last minute after we had the game wrapped up with that interception ( and Fumble. ) After that game I remember thinking to myself, hey Nebraska is back. We almost won against a top 25 team and at our house and we choked away a win and you get the idea. The Nebraska of old would have found a way to win this game and not let opportunity slip through their fingers. But the culture and the mindset that the players and fans had was ok with it. I actually felt good about our chances after a loss.
The second game that came to mind was that nasty, ugly, horrible loss to Arizona St. After that game everybody was saying, their goes or chances of a 3 peat and the season. Even though it was our Only loss of the year, see the difference in mind set? We expected to win and we expected to succeed, not to be happy with moral victories.
Last but not least the last recruits that are coming
The final three recruits that are coming this week are Ciante Evans who is already committed ( thank you sir wise choice ) Colin Tanigawa from L.A., please don't hold that against him, and Damon Williams from Irving, Texas. Colin is a three star O-line player that could start of at left tackle but may wind up a center. He stands at 6'3 and 270 so his body is like a Hickman type and that would be fine with me. He is not very strong at this point yet and speed is average so he probably wouldn't be a candidate to get some early playing time. There is lots of potential because he finishes pretty well and comes from a good program. His list of suitors is pretty good but he has narrowed down his choices to Washington, Arizona St. and Nebraska. He already has visits lined up to the other schools so he doesn't seem to be one to commit early unless we blow him a way. Chances of landing him 15 to 20%
What Bo did about Castille a month later shows his leadership even more
In wake of a interesting first quarter of the season that has many twists and turns as well as ups and downs. Something brought to home that made me respect the coaching staff even more, Kansas players fighting. That in itself is not to strange I'm sure every program has some team in fighting. They on the other hand was fighting with the basketball team over, among other things who got the most women on the campus. This may seem humorous to some of us but 3 things pop in my mind 1) How is this showing any respect to the women and the program of Kansas University 2) Where was the coaching staff to nip this problem 3) How could the staff let this get so out of control?
One receiver, two receivers, do we have a commit coming in store?
Like the title suggests, coming on this weekend are two receivers Bud Sasser form Denton, Texas and Bobby Swigert from Louisville, Ohio. Seeing as we are losing both Menelik Holt and Chris Brooks to graduation this year with Niles Paul as a junior its important that we keep replenishing the talent level. What's especially important to the recruits after our three starters there is a lot of unproven and raw talent so there is a huge opportunity to get some early playing time.
Bud Sasser is a 6'3 200 pound receiver that has a solid if unspectacular SAT but is dominating on the high school level. Thru 3 games he has 10 touchdowns to his credit already and while they are more than likely from fade routes that take advantage of his size that is still very impressive. He has stated quite often that he will take all of his visits so he probably won't be commiting this weekend. Of the teams that are recruiting him some of note are both Arizona schools and from the big twelve Texas Tech, Kansas, Baylor and that columbus team ( from here on out I cannot in good faith to my soul call them by their school name. ) It should be noted that while the Sooners have yet to offer him he does have them listed as a favorite.
I have very mixed feelings about our chances of landing him, on one hand this weekend will be hard to say no to as a recruit because of the 300th sellout. On the other hand he seems to be waiting on the Sooners and they do have the momentum on the recruiting front. Our chances 30% if he commits this weekend as I see him as a soft verbal, 20% if he waits and 10% if the Sooners get involved.
Bobby Swigert is the other one and he stands at 6'1 and 175 running a very nice 4.47. He has narrowed his choices to 5 schools and oddly enough we may be the closest location, Boston College, Stanford, Michigan, Pittsburg and us. Its pretty clear that he has the brain power with those college choices so thats not in issue and as of right now we are the only ones with a visit lined up which really bodes well for us. It will be interesting to see if adding on some weight if he will still have some good speed. ( he is welcome to mine because I really don't need it ) Chances of Landing him 40 to 35%
Interesting recruits that are visiting this weekend
There are 7 reported recruits visiting this weekend and two of the most intriguing ones are Chase Harper - a four star juco TE and Chase Rome - a four star de/dt recruit that is committed to Okie State. Chase Harper has stated that if he likes his visit that he will go ahead and commit. Now the coaching staff has not hit the juco's very hard preferring to develop his players and has only gotten a few in his short time here.
What also makes this offer even more surprising is that of all the postions that we would offer a juco too would be tight end. We have a junior in McNeill and four other tight ends trying to get playing time. So either this guy will be very good and will push for playing time or the staff will move him to another postion. Standing at 6'6 at weighs 248 his size and measurables are very desirable though so he definitely looks the part. Only time will tell if and when he will land up if he does sign.
The recruiting update
There has been a lot of talk on message boards about how this class is not filling up as fast as other big 12 teams. Or there is talk about how there is not enough big name recruits coming in to Nebraska to compete year in and year out with the heavyweights in the nation. Which really bothers me because if you look at the players that are coming in they all almost to a man has these characteristics in common, hard working, smart, willing to learn and a winner. Which to me means that Bo doesn't care what amount of stars you have next to your name. He wants players that will bring the right attitude and intangibles. All you have to do is go back to last five years to see most five and four stars never live up to the hype. Some never saw the field or never even played or in some cases never went to the college they signed the letter of intent.
