I've slowly been understanding the MLE and trade exception thanks to the expert breakdowns on GSoM.

I read that when Lewis was talking to Seattle and the Magic, the sonics were talking about doing a S&T to at least get something of value for the forward. In my eyes Wallace seems like the best more realistic (of course aside from the garnett fantasy) option. my question is that would it possible to use our trade exception/ do a sign a trade& on wallace because from what I understand it allows teams to sign players for less. Is it also possible to maybe do a S&T with pietrus and send POB or someone else to maybe entice them.
what are the most realistic possiblities for us get crash>? also what about getting artest, cause i know the kings are shopping him, i would definitely do harrington for artest. Either of those two would be a nice fit and with that roster (plus a reliable FA back up for baron) i wouldn't say we were far off from going deep into the playoffs.

before i get ahead of myself, i think a priority is not losing what we already have and i think that means we should sign barnes because the guy deserves it, and quite frankly i'd hate to see his mohawk in another uniform.

if we can land either of those guys, and resign barnes and buike i would be content without garnett because then we'd still be a solid mix between a young/older team with veterans hopefully to lead the youngins. i know this sounds like a rebuilding process but i think that may just give us enough. of course to be serious contenders we would need garnett to make that immediate impact because clearly wright won't give fans the instant gratification i feel they want in place of richardson's departure.

 also the new yi rumors scare me too. im over the movement.
