Frenchy: Not Even the Best French Hitter in KC

As I'm watching the Royals game today while nursing a hangover only Cinco de Mayo can produce, up strolls George Kottaras. It's only the second time I've seen him at the dish and I'm elated to see...

Spoiler: OT

This is an unusual and very enjoyable read. I have a huge respect for writers that love the game of baseball with such transparent passion... and, more importantly, people who brazenly apostatize the Yankees.

Blake Wood out six weeks

The injury bug strikes again. It's going to be a long season at this pace. That's how it seems, anyway.

How much longer do we put up with Kansas City Keith?

I hate to give this dipsh!t the attention he/she is obviously seeking, but can't we just diplomatically eliminate the loser? I come to RR to chuckle at snark, catch up on the latest Royals news, and sharpen my sabermetric knowledge (in that order); I simply don't have the filter for this kind of senseless and vulgar drivel.

Royals Blue After Loss

GOODYEAR, AZ - It was a somber scene in the Royals' post-game clubhouse on the Goodyear side of two split-squad games Tuesday. The Royals suffered their first loss of the season at the hands of S...

Playoff Expansion

I haven't seen this discussed elsewhere on the site, but I'm curious to know Royals fans' opinion on the matter. Is this good for small-market teams? Even if it is, is it bad for baseball in general?

Jeffress aplolgizes

Isn't it possible that Jeffress' MiLB-enforced abstinence from the herb explains his hot temper? Isn't it?

"When I look around here, I see a lot of the same things. I see a lot of guys who like to work hard, No. 1. I’ve been really impressed with what I’ve seen in the weight room after workouts. Guys are just working their tails off. "That’s something you can’t really teach. You can want your players to do it, but they’re in there. It’s impressive. It’s the whole group of them coming up. This has all of the makings of a solid team."

Breathability: Not a Word, But a Concept

I have developed a theory over the last few months that I really wish someone in the Royals' front office shared with me, or at the very least, understood.  The theory?  System breathability.

REGULAR GUYS The first four hitters in the Royals’ starting lineup — Willie Bloomquist, Mike Aviles, Kila Ka’aihue and Josh Fields — were a combined 13 for 16 with 12 runs and nine RBIs. None played more than five innings.

Kila's a 'Regular Guy'?

Baseball Searcher for Chrome

This is a pretty cool Google Chrome extension that is a customizable player searcher. The only thing that I don't really like about it is when you search for a new player, it opens new tabs instead of searching within the existing and corresponding tabs. Check it out, though.

Royals Fans Are Too Smart

Adam Lawson discusses his disdain for advanced statistics. My favorite quote: "If I don’t know how I would go about calculating it, I don’t bother."
