Phillips should provide the decent-to-good right-handed bat we've been sorely needing. (40g, .315, 5hr, 22rbi, 2sb) in Louisville

In other news, AGon is now on the 60 day DL so I imagine he'll be out until August or so at least... not that we *need* him back soon anyway with Janish and Kepp soon to be around.

How about Holliday?

Per MLBTradeRumors, Holliday could be moved.

Do you think this is just the kind of splash Jocketty would look to make? With Dunn and Griffey gone by next year, (more than likely) we would need an impact bat in LF. (Bruce has RF covered)

The combo of Holliday and Bruce could easily be the best in the NL... but we'd more than likely need to pay a steep price in prospects. Would you be willing to part with Bailey and a host of others?

Thoughts?

http://www.thelotd.com/ctrent/blog/2008/05/09/mercker_to_dl_bray_up

Wasn't there a rumor yesterday that someone was DL bound? I have to admit I didn't even consider Mercker...

It's good to have Bray back, though. While Mercker wasn't bad by any stretch, I'm a little more comfortable with Bray on the mound in a crucial situation.

Let's see if he can give us something serviceable from a trade made in 06... to help the team in 06... only 2 years late.
