Indy Cornrows trade idea: jordan farmar for brandon rush

the pacers are rumored to be interested in jordan farmar. the lakers are interested in a swingman with 3pt range and length. i wanted to gauge your interest in a sign-and-trade scenario: jordan farmar for brandon rush. i'm not sure how valuable rush is to the team, so some feedback could help me understand whether such a proposal is realistic. i know that the pacers have drafted two very good prospects in paul george and lance stephenson. i also know that the pacers have a lot of swingmen and may not have enough minutes to accelerate their development. with george and stephenson in the fold, is rush expendable? the incentive for the trade? well, for one thing, it would allow indiana to preserve its MLE. second, the lakers could sweeten the deal with a draft pick. lastly, it would give george and stephenson more room to grow. one last thing to consider is that the lakers would have to match salaries, so farmar's price tag would be around $2M per year. is that too steep a price? your thoughts?

Golden State Of Mind Stephen Jackson - Trade Partner/Asset Analysis & Weighted Ranking

I've gone through every team team in the league and identified the Ws' most likely trading partners in a Stephen Jackson trade.

I've disqualified non-contenders and teams with significant investments in 2s and 3s.

The parameters for a deal are either expiring contracts and draft picks(salary dump) or more "valuable" players with longer contracts.

I've ranked the trade scenarios, based on the Ws' needs and wants:  big men, speed, shooting range, and money saved.

Teams marked with an asterisk indicate the Ws must add an additional player(s) to make the salaries match.  Unless otherwise indicated, all players below have expiring contracts.

1.  UTA:  Boozer(12.3M)*

2.  LAC:  Camby

3.  ORL:  Gortat(BYC) + Anthony Johnson + Adonal Foyle

4.  PHI:  Brand(14.8M+/4yrs)*

5.  MIA:  James Jones(team option next year, making it a veritable expiring contract) + Dorrell Wright (and 1 more minimum contract should Miami insist on maximizing its capspace)

6.  UTA:  Matt Harpring(possible medical retirement, insured and expiring)

7.  LAL:  Adam Morrison + Jordan Farmar

8.  TOR:  Amir Johnson + Nesterovic or Antoine Wright

9.  CLE:  Ilgauskas(11.5M)*

10.  N.O.:  Stojakovic(13.4M+/2yrs)*

11.  PHI:  Dalembert(12M+/2yrs)*

The latter half of the article mentions olajuwon giving kobe a bit of instruction in the post-game. The Dream himself predicts great things for kobe this season.

The real story, IMHO, is the latter half of the article. The Rocket legend worked out the intricacies of his post-up game with Kobe Bryant of all people, and predicted Kobe would be even more of a force with which to be reckoned because of his instruction.
