ACC schedule
Can someone please explain why MD is the only school to play duke and NC twice each? Am I wrong on that? Does anyone have insight into why that is or what determines who gets to play them twice, three times, or four times each year?I am just curious because placement within the acc standings can come down to one loss and it may not affect us this year but it could in the future. With cuse and pitt coming in I guess some team would get to play all four of these teams twice each? With the uneven schedule I just want to know if there is a rhyme and reason to it. Thanks guys!

Like Rudy Gay, he's from Bmore, shunned UMD, wears #22 (intentional?), plays SF, and he chose UConn. Oh, and he's about to win a championship like Melo did freshman year... another douche that I don't need to discuss further. This necessarily makes Roscoe a douche. Not that sf Parker is that bad, but I hate local players that choose different schools AND have success. That's double douchery.
"Gay's college recruitment and decision to attend the University of Connecticut over the University of Maryland were controversial. Gay had expressed a desire to attend Maryland and said that he grew up rooting for the team, but he ultimately chose UConn. Because of the heavy involvement of an AAU coach and a high school coach, there was the appearance of impropriety, although no NCAA recruiting violations were discovered. The NCAA adopted a new scheduling rule after UConn paid $25,000 to schedule a game against the Beltway Ballers, an ad hoc AAU team that consisted of Gay's former teammates. Although it violated no standing rule at the time, media observers and Connecticut staff considered it directly connected to the recruitment. According to individuals close to Maryland head coach Gary Williams, the recruitment demonstrated that rule bending is often necessary to secure highly touted players, which Williams said he is unwilling to do, even at the expense of recruiting."
Why we lose out to some recruits
Almost all of the schools on the top 10 graduation rate list are private and almost all (or all??) of the schools on the worst list are public. I guess this proves the whole "private schools can set their own standards to attract recruits" notion, right? At least for the most part considering that there are some exceptions.

All the teams we lost to lost to one of their regional rivals???!!!
Cincinnati lost to Xavier
"Xavier pulled ahead by 10 points in the second half, but Stephenson made a pair of jumpers and a 3-pointer during an 11-0 run that gave Cincinnati a 55-51 lead. With the score tied at 61, Xavier's Jackson made a basket at the buzzer that was waved off. Replays confirmed the ball was still in his hands at the buzzer, sending it overtime."
"Stephenson had a chance to win it in the first overtime, but his 3-point shot in the closing seconds was off the rim." ha! (from ESPN)
Villanova lost to Temple
Wisconsin lost to Green Bay
All of these teams were unranked. Will the NCAA tournament committee even factor the regional rival aspect into their decisions? These were trap games imo.
