Arrowhead Pride Moving Forward. Only positive energy allowed. Frontrunners, Doomsayers and Suck for Luck'ers need not reply.

Look. We are two games into a 14 (oops)16 game season.  Yes, we got trounced.  Yes, we lost our top players on both sides of the ball. But now is when we find out what kind of team we have and what kind of fans we really are. I plan to support my team for the rest of the year.  I'm not going to start cheering for us to lose so we can position ourselves in the draft.  I'm not going to campaigning for Bill Cower.  We went to the playoffs last season when most of us would have been pleasently surprised with an 8 - 8 season.  This is all about forward movement..not negative energy.  How can we expect this team not to surrender the next 14 games if we are willing to write them off after two games?  I ride or die with this team.  Let's build some positive energy in this post...how do we fix this?

Arrowhead Pride Off Season Fun....Fake headlines

Post your funniest fake news brief or fake headline about the Chiefs or a rival....I'll get it started.

Newsflash: Trouble Brewing in Broncos locker room this off-season.

Perceived lameness of Denver QB Kyle Orton's recurring neck beard affects accuracy and destroys team morale in blowout loss to Kansas City Chiefs. An unnamed teammate of Orton is quoted as saying,

"Yeah he's the face of our team, but that face looks like it belongs to a Greyhound depot Hobo! He needs to get sacked by a team of barbers! You just can't win with a guy who looks like he reeks of stale urine and day old Pork n' Beans!  I really hope I get traded before next season, his locker is next to mine and I think he gave me fleas."

At the time of printing, Orton's neck beard couldn't be reached for comment.

Arrowhead Pride Revisionist History....(Chicken Little forgot his helmut)

So I guess history prior to the current regime has been deleted.  CP overstayed his usefulness and as a result we are stuck with an aging RB (who should have been traded a few years ago when he held out) and without the most dominating DE in the game.  This team was rebuilding last year and this off-season, that rebuilding effort was gutted and started from the beginning.....AGAIN.  WTF do people expect this to look like?? Give the new system a chance to work.  It's funny how last week we were a team on the rise and now we are a team in crisis...what I saw for the last two weeks looked like the same team....The Chiefs that beat the Redskins is the same team that got blown out by the Chargers. Right now we are neither supremely talented nor are we very experienced.  As fans we have to understand that WE have been the ones that over-value the talent on our roster. I think the current staff is acutely aware of the lack of talent in the key supportive positions on field and off field (Clancy....Romeo and I are looking at you.....playa)......

The coaching staff and the management seem content to do patchwork to keep the team running but understand that there is no point trying to build with the current talent pool (cast-offs, vets who probably should just retire and rookies who might but probably don't possess the kind of talent worth paying for).  Right now we are preparing for next year, we have trimmed some of the fat, expect more trimming to come at the end of the season.  Stay tuned this team might start showing us something towards the end of the year as some of these players and coaches realize that they are all being evaluated and that judgement is coming.

From Pete Prisco at CBSSports.....I normally can't stomach this guy, but I thought it was a good read. Hope I'm not late on this one.

Arrowhead Pride Let's give this thing time to work.....

I know that a lot of my fellow fans are bemoaning the FA situation but, let's keep this in perspective.....free agents are generally the finishing touches for the most successful teams.  Herm got it right in not building exclusively through free agency....you need a strong core of developed players to be successful.  Cobbling together a team of cast-offs (in most cases) from other teams is a sure way to waste a season without getting any better...I would rather us spend/invest the money in/on two or three good FA signings and four or five speculative ones instead of loading up our team with big name/small contribution players who manage to sell jerseys but not win games......

Arrowhead Pride This is what fans do??

I'm frustrated with the current level of performance of this team, I would gather that most fans of this team are. But it seems that some of us are so comfortable tossing insults and heaping scorn on the players, the coaches or the organization that we have forgotten that if we really want to call ourselves fans, then or critiques have to be tempered with some measure of support.  Otherwise we start looking less like fans and more like emotionally abusive alcoholic parents, where nothing is ever good enough.

Arrowhead Pride Troy Smith anyone????

Look, it is obvious that our current choices at QB are like trying to decide which hand you would rather have amputated (no pain-killers of course) and our O-Line has the protection ability of a fishnet condom, I recommend going after Troy Smith.  Baltimore seems hell-bent on proving that drafting Joe Flacco was not a mistake while a talented player like Troy Smith languishes on the sidelines, why not?
