San Diego - With third base turning into a black hole offensively in a lineup struggling in general to score runs, the Brewers could wait no longer to call up Ryan Braun.

The Brewers announced late tonight the 23-year-old Braun, their top everyday prospect in the minor leagues, was coming up from Class AAA Nashville. Club officials waited until after Braun played in the Sounds' game against Memphis in Nashville because they wanted him to get more at-bats after spending time recently on the disabled list.

Braun is expected to join the Brewers in time to be in the lineup Friday night against San Diego at Petco Park.

To make room on their roster for Braun, the Brewers placed reliever Elmer Dessens on the 15-day disabled list with a right shoulder strain.

I have already signed up and will tell as many people as I can to do so. Why? It's funny to me.

So, Join the revolution!!

Sheets and His Ears

From Brewers.com. Makes me say huh? Thought that was taken care of?

On the cutting edge: Sheets revealed the unique way in which he controls the vertigo-like condition that has plagued him in recent seasons. Sheets has suffered from vestibular neuritis, an inner-ear condition that throws off his balance and awareness and left him hospitalized in Houston two years ago.

Sheets travels with an inch-by-inch square computer chip that is hooked up to a monitor. When he starts to feel symptoms, Sheets puts the chip in his mouth and it buzzes to help him regulate his balance and equilibrium.

"I don't even know what the call that thing, but I really think it helped me avoid [problems] last year," Sheets said.

Sheets, who tends to develop symptoms when he comes down with a cold, has not had any trouble since last season, but he still has the device. One problem: he says he has a bad gag reflex, and can only keep the chip in his mouth for minutes at a time.

"The doctor in Madison got real mad. He was like, 'You have to keep it in for 20 minutes!'" Sheets said. "My eyes were watering, and I told him that's fine if he wants me to be sick all over his office."

Here's the link to an article on deadspin. It's a Brewers preview by Dan Kois. I guess this guy writes for Slate and seems to actually be brewer fan. That's nice of him. He linked the article you wrote about the pitchers and catchers reporting.

http://deadspin.com/sports/baseball/baseball-season-preview-milwaukee-brewers-240318.php

I am tired of wading through the Brewers seasons year after year. I am tired. Bill Wegman could have been a good pitcher. Tired. Scotty Fletcher gave some hope...Tired...of a crazy win streak followed by the worst collapse...TIRed..Could have kept Bosio. So tired. Molly...ahh sheesh. Tired. Nedley and his pitching change miscues. TIRED. of Corey Hart not being in the line-up. TIRRRRRRED...Of Mench being considered for a roster spot. tired of people thinking Lee would have made the difference. But I am TIRED of JJ Hardy...tired..Billy should be the SS...TIRED that this is a question......tired so much so that these were just the stupid things that sprang to mind....TIRED there are so many more examples.....WHAT ARE YOU TIRED OF!!!!

didn't have time to put my feelings into the thread tonight but I will say what I would guess others are thinking....BEN SHEETS IS A WASTE OF TIME!!!!!! He is officially a piece of garbage on my garbage list...(Jenks, Wood, Prior, Lopez)...I want that insurance money and I want it now.

This guy is supposed to be an ace when his career record is below .500. He had an 18 K performance but Wood did that 2 better. What did that get the Cubs. I'm sorry. I am done with this shit. Hey Benny, which crazy muscle or ear ache will be next? A sore glute??? Color me jaded.

Ned...I was so angry when Ned took Turnbow out (even thinking 7 batters ahead) during the home stand. Turns out he was right after Howard ripped a hit that destroyed the Hairy one tonight. Yost had complete confidence tonight in Turnbow because he had tooooo..... I will never agree with the pitching moves that Yost does ........BUT...I was wrong about TBOW vs. Howard...
