Die hard Cubs fan since 1984.
If you've seen "Rookie of the Year" then you've seen me! Happened to be at Wrigley during filming in Sept 92 and ended up getting into the movie for a few seconds.

I'm on a plane with Kerry Wood Aboard in NYC
One question - Yankees or Mets?
Please don't go Kerry. I keep envisioning a senario where all other teams try to low-ball him. He returns to Jim Hendry before spring training and asks Jim to give him a fair offer for next year. Jim does, Kerry signs and closes. He returns to the All-Star game but doesn't pitch this time, enjoying the rest.
Cubs win the Central again, Kerry closes games 1 and 3 of the divison series. Closes games 2, 4 and 5 of the championship series to put the Cubs back into the World Series!

Cubs Post Season Rally
As many of you know, there was a post season rally held in Daily Plaza today at noon. I attended the rally and wanted to share a few pictures with everyone.
There was a giant flat-screen TV. that played Cubs season highlights before the rally started. Wayne Messmer sang the national anthem and then handed the mic over to Jim Belushi, who belted out an awesome version of "Sweet Home Chicago". Ernie Banks, Billy Williams and Ron Santo all very briefly spoke to the crowd. In fact, Ron's only words were, "THIS IS THE YEAR"!
Derrek Lee, Sean Marshall and Micha Hoffpauir also made an appearance.
The mayor was boo'd BUT did don a Cubs hat and the governor was his usual annoying self, managing a few cheers whenever he would mention the Cubs winning it all.
They played "Someday we'll go all the way", Eddie Vedder’s Cubs song which seems to have a strong tear reflex reaction for me. I was choking em back the entire song thinking of what could be…
All in all it was an awesome chance to gather with other Cubs fans and celebrate the accomplishments of this Cubs team and all that lies ahead.
Ok Boys, 100 years is long enough! Let's bring it home....
