MAKE IT HAPPEN DELOSS
Where are they now? Leinart edition
Texans coach Gary Kubiak has been "really impressed" with how far Matt Leinart has come and said the quarterback "continues to push Dan (Orlovsky) every day" for the backup job.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.... (breathe).... HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Texas to Retire Colt McCoy's Jersey
Moving from the Mack announcement page for discussion. Anyone disagree with the decision?

All of a sudden, I don't feel so bad about losing him.
Texas Longhorns In The NFL
I realize that this is pretty late, but I got tired of trying to remember what players were on what team so I could enjoy the preseason games by keeping an eye out for my favorite ex-Texas players. I stole a list off of ESPN and sorted them by Team. Is it that much different to look at? No. Does it make life easier for a lazy person? Slightly.
I figured I'd share it with you guys. Sourced from here.

Leach hired by CBS
Here, here for the pirate. I was afraid of a season without Leach in my life.
Proof that the Heisman and it's followers are meaningless...
As if anyone needs further proof that the heisman is a shout out to the flavor of the month player for the sports media, I present this gem from ESPN's Heisman Watch Link:
1. Tim Tebow, Florida: Tebow isn't putting up silly stats every week, but he continues to win games, and that's what matters most. Did anyone think he wouldn't lead the game-winning scoring drive against Arkansas? Florida's wide receivers aren't elite this year and there's more pressure on Tebow to make plays. As long as Florida keeps winning and he plays an instrumental role, it's hard to drop Tebow from the top spot.
2. Mark Ingram, Alabama: Ingram made the biggest move of any player in the Heisman race Saturday, exploding for 246 rush yards against South Carolina. The Alabama sophomore is playing his best football against the best competition, combining for 568 rush yards in wins against Virginia Tech, Mississippi and South Carolina. The SEC already knew about Ingram before Saturday, but now the entire country ought to take notice.
3. Colt McCoy, Texas: The competition level increased for Texas against Oklahoma, but McCoy's production level plummeted. He completed just 53.8 percent of his passes in the game, which, given McCoy's standards, seems more like 35 percent. McCoy also continued his streak of throwing at least one interception in every game this season. He'll need big performances on the road the next two weeks against Missouri and Oklahoma State to improve his stock.
Split National Championship
Over the buildup to Texas' bowl game, many people have mentioned the possibility of Texas winning the "Split national championship". I've held my tongue until I was sure Texas would win, but I feel it is important to say something. No matter how bad we wish Texas was in the BCS National Title game; no matter how wrong it is that Oklahoma got the nod instead of us, I refuse to view the AP National title as a valid form of determining the best team in College Football. I know that until BCS, the National Champ was always determined by polls, but the reason it was canned was because of dispute between different polls about who really was the best.
If the BCS is the system that the NCAA wishes to use, then I will recognize OU or Florida as our National Champion with the exception that Texas should have been allowed a shot at the Title game in the same way that the Utes should have.
Also, if we choose to hoist an AP title, we are no better than Trojans. That should be enough on its on.

The BCS might be in shambles (just ask fans of Texas and Texas Tech) but at least fans will get a chance to see the two best teams in college football duke it out. A week after the computers jumped the shark by declaring Oklahoma the winner of the Big 12 South, and fully a month before the BCS Championship game in Miami, the top team in the land already will have been determined after Alabama and Florida knock heads in the Georgia Dome.

You sir, pay attention to the game of Football. Congratulations, douche-bag.
As for the Heisman...
I want to be able to see the incredible Sam Bradford or Colt McCoy match up again against Chase Daniel before casting my ballot. And of course, watching Tim Tebow against that great Alabama defense is going to be required watching before filling it out.
The "Three-Way Tie"
http://www.sportsline.com/collegefootball/story/11115692
The best part about this post is they mention Texas once. If anything, they should not even mention Tech as the only way there can be a three-way tie is if Tech loses which would assure them to drop at least one spot in the BCS (Below Texas).
This is a technical 3 way tie, but really, it's only about Texas and Oklahoma if they do indeed win.

What do you think
about the offense. It seems to me that there are a lot of people unhappy with Colt. I know at Texas the most popular player is the second-string QB but I really haven't seen enough of Colt to know if he's hit his limit or not. He IS only a Sophomore and he keeps showing great things. But really, what I want to know is this; What do you think about Colt? Should he be replaced or is he an asset to this team? Moreover, is your problem with him the way the Offensive Coordinator chooses to implement him or his talent?
This isn't a mean spirited, "screw all y'all colt haters!" message. I know literally nothing about the Quarterback position so I don't know when he is staring the safety down or any of that.
P.S. John Chiles is a phenomenal athlete who should be on the field at least 10 times a game either at the quarterback position or set out as a receiver.
Ware is he now?
Someone asked the other day whatever became of THE Scott Ware. I remembered vaguely him being signed to the Colts practice squad last season. From everything I gather, he's still with their practice squad because he played in a preseason game against the bears.
On second thought, the fact that the colts won the Super Bowl is not surprising. After all, they have got to be tough to get sick hits every day in practice...
Pat Forde Sucks
The dude bases his claim on the SEC conference being the best conference because of the devotion of the fans to their teams and a whole long list of ridiculousness. Now, this just may be the thoughts of a fan of the REAL UT in Knoxville, but I get sick and tired of hearing how much better the SEC is just because the intra-conference games can go either way.
I suppose more than anything, I find the whole argument over which conference is the best to just be a total waste of time. Some people base it on the few games played that year verses the other conference. Some base it on rankings. I'm just wondering if I'm the only one who would love to hear people just be quiet about the strength of conferences.
New Players
Just a question to BurntOrangeNation. Who is the player you are most excited to see on the field this upcoming season. I know personally for me it's Vondrell McGee. The dude looks sick. I wouldn't mind him and Charles splitting play time as it looks like their styles are a bit different. Vondrell seems like more of a physical runner compared to Jamaal being very very fast. Anyway, what do y'all think?
Ipod
I just recently got a new ipod. It's one of these new fancy deals with video and 30 gb of memory. Whilst pondering what to name said ipod, I came across a name of ultimate beauty.

Class act my ass...Even though he wouldn't suffer any problems from this, is it still okay to say he got Bomar'd if this is true?
Nathan Vasher
He was EVERYWHERE in the game tonight. Here's hoping he comes down with several more against the colts. (I should only hope so. I live in East Tennessee and people here would never shut up if Peyton actually won a super bowl.)
I can't help but thinking that the Bears Defense will run over the Colts almost as bad as TJ and CB will. Oh well, I am biased. I love me some Bears.
Who does everyone think will win the superbowl?
Bad News
http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=2732041
Peterson has left for the NFL. I know most of you are thinking I am crazy for calling that bad news but having spent half a season watching both him and his backups, after his freshmen year, he really hasn't been too spectacular. I would have wanted to line up against him before some of the younger OU guys.
Oh well, this is the part of the diary where, if he hadn't snubbed Texas and mack brown, I'd wish him luck in the NFL but because of this, I hope the Cards draft him
Pro Buckeyes
http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=2731753
Looks like Ginn will indeed split. It's kinda suprising to me. I know he could make lots of money in the NFL but I thought he needed just a little more help on his routes before he made the jump. He's fast though so maybe he'll be enough to make plays on the next level.
Pittman is also entering the NFL Draft.
Great Article
On what to cheer for if you want the Titans to make the slim chance of playoffs. I'll say it now. If Tennessee makes the playoffs, I'm taking them to win it all.

Either way, it gives light to what needs to happen for Tennessee to make the playoffs. Check it out
The Fullback
Man, I love Vince and all but considering the fact that I KNEW he would do what he has done, I find Ahmad Hall to be the my favorite rookie of the year other than Vince. He didn't get drafted, yet he is becoming more and more of a valuable asset to the Titans. I always liked that guy. We could have used him this year
Crowder and Griffin
Crowder and Griffin have been selected as quarterfinalists for the Lott Trophy, awarded to the Defensive IMPACT player of the year. Now I understand both have played good years and Crowder has been AMAZING but where's Aaron Ross? Clutch defensive player. Wonder why everyone outside of Texas fans have seemed to ignore him. Crowder has been amazsing this year though. I bet his pressure has played a huge role in winning some games.
