Since I was coming from Indy, had to get up early in the morning for the nice drive up to Chicago. My girlfriend and her daughter joined me for the trip, not sure who was more excited about this trip, me or them. Anyway, we got up to Wrigley at arounf 10 a.m. for my 11 a.m. time slot. The staff was incrediably nice and helpfull. We checked in and found the group I would be with. I had to audition in Super Suite 1 (first time ever in a suite so that was neat). I was in line with a guy who came up from Arkansas, so I did feel so bad about my trip. The man who was ushering our group around said he had one from California and two from Texas as well, so they are coming from all over for this. I walked in to the room, they asked me the simple question of "why it should be me" and then I did my singing or butchering of the song. I dont know if I get any further in this, but man I had a great time. Talk to a news reporter from channel 2 there in Chicago and he said he was coming down with his son for the Brickyard 400 so we tried to give him some tips on were to go. I hope everyone who participated in this had as good an experience as i did and good luck to all.

While at the Cubs BCB game on Saturday I told Al that the Padres catcher Rob Bowen was the nephew of my boss and that I wanted him to do well, but with the Cubs still winning. Well, its 7:30 a.m. here and my boss said he just got a call from his sister and that Rob Bowen has been traded to the Cubs. I can not find out who for because I havent seen it announced yet. Just thought I would give everyone a heads up.

Help for this weekend

I am asking for some opions on this weekend. I will be attending the Cubs/Pirates game Saturday with my kids (ages 12 and 8) and my stepfather (age 68). It is the first time to Wrigley for my son (8) and the first time for my stepdad since '75, so everybody is real excited. My delima is this, I usually go to Grant Park to park and then walk to the train station and take the train up to Wrigley, my kids are really looking forward to the train ride more than Wrigley I think. Now, I here that Lollipolooza is at Grant park all weekend. How should I do this? I am coming up from Indy and know just enough about downtown Chicago to be dangerous. Any suggestions would greatly be appreciated.

New Rumor (What else is new?)

According to cbssportsline.com, on the rumor mill, Boston is shopping Willy Mo Pena for some pitching and that the Cubs have contacted them about the outfielder. This is a big bat, but can he help the Cubs, and who would they have to give up to get him? I wouldnt give up a front line pitcher, but maybe a Hill type would be a good trade. Pena has been hurt this year, and would want him to be healthy before making any trade. Cubs dont need anymore injured players on the roster.

I was reading the Cubs website this morning and in one of the articles (again I have to figure out how to add a link, sorry) Dusty said that help with a right handed bat was hopefully on the way. He said "something is in the works" and that "hopefully it happens soon". But of course, no names were mentioned. So now I open it up to suggestions. Who do you think is this mysterious right handed bat may be?

Bonds suing

I see that Barry Bonds' lawyers are entering a lawsuit to stop the sale of the new book written by the San Francisco writers. Not only that, but to make sure these two writers dont make a dime off the book. Now, according to ESPN's write up about it, (Sorry, I havent learned the tag thing yet since this is my first post), the interesting thing is, they are not suing because of liable or false accusations, they are suing because they say the two writers have illegially obtained grand jury testimony. What does that tell you.
