minorleagueball.com International Preview
Nice list here previewing the international market, and many (not all) players that will be available come July 2nd.
Manager Wins Above Expectancy
Perhaps an interesting read for you numbers geeks -- glad we don't have Eric Wedge!
Another article referencing the info:

Enjoy!
Pitching Mechanics...and Trevor Bauer
I stumbled upon this piece at mlb.com and wanted to share it.
I found this article a great read -- while it discusses following "in the footsteps of Tim Lincecum", the article really shows how very different Trevor and Tim are.
Hope you folks enjoy the read as much as I did.
Brandon McCarthy: "Three Worst Things About Spring Training"
I stumbled on this this morning...Brandon McCarthy taking over "Hot Clicks" for a day.
I figured I would keep reading when he referred to himself as "some gangly white guy who plays baseball for a small market team".
If you scroll down, the three worst things are worthwhile, as is the photo of HIS wife and some Twitter folks he follows.
Enjoy!
MLB.com Top 100 Prospects 2012
Didn't see a link to this anywhere else.
No. 8 Jameson Taillon
No. 11 Gerrit Cole
No. 40 Starling Marte
No. 69 Josh Bell
Enjoy!
Will Dan Lozano's world come tumbling down....?
Wow...a DAMN interesting read.
This isn't "G" rated content...so please remember that when clicking on the link.

In the Kangaroo Court System, there is no statute of limitations
After reading the "hazing" FanShot, I decided to look up some funny stories about the "kangaroo court".
I came across this one from 2002 -- it seems time caught up to Bill Madlock...via the Kangaroo Court System.
Trevor Bauer to be signed to major league deal
It sounds like Trevor Bauer has been signed to a major league deal.
What I hate most about this is that it (probably) means Cole is going to be on a ML deal as well -- I hated when Alvarez did it. I'm going to hate when Cole does it.
Pirates Talking with Lyle Overbay
A few days ago, the boards saw a rumored "rumor" about the Pirates having signed Lyle Overbay. Well, today MLBTraderumors has a post up that the Pirates are talking with Overbay.
I like the signing, if it takes place. While it does not add the RH bat we need in the order, it does provide an improvement on defense at 1B and will bring some doubles and walks to the lineup. While his .243/.329/.433 line is not incredible for 2010, his March/April of .171/.281/.611 didn't help at all.
I'd like to see a contract that covers us just long enough to get Alvarez over there and Rendon (if he is the one drafted) in at 3B.
Any opinions? (Stupid question, I know)
If YOU were to spend an additional $15m on the Pirates...
There have been multiple opinions put forth, by multiple sources and posters, as to what the Pirates can do with the roster.
If the Pirates have an additional $15 million to spend on the roster, how would *YOU* do it?
This will be inexact, as we can only ballpark what certain players will cost. Also, if a trade is required (Hardy/Bartlett/Ryan), you don't really have to include minor league players you would include in the trade (you can if you'd like, for discussion sake)...unless it would be a ML player and could free up additional money (Doumit, as an example). Also, if someone, such as Hardy or Webb, were your acquisitions, please include your ballpark contract figures.
I feel it would be interesting to bring the many ideas, from the MANY posts on this blog, to one post. Some players are already off the market (Berkman, Harang), so what can the Pirates do with the remaining FAs and players available for trade with a $15m cap? What will the new 25-man look like?
Look forward to hearing the many options.
