Fort Wayne wing V.J. Beachem (2013) to visit Michigan State this weekend.

Michigan State will have a bball visitor this weekend according to Kyle Neddenriep of the IndyStar. No word yet on an offer but Beachem is a lanky wing known for his shooting touch and offensive skills. Also, I posted this as a teaser for the 2013 Basketball Hotlist, which should be up by the middle of next week. V.J. will be on there along with many other intriguing prospects.

Byrd's foot still an issue

Ugly headline from Rexrode's blog. Nothing definitive yet and Izzo sounds cautiously optimistic. Definitely don't like hearing that the doctors mentioned Grant Hill. X-rays coming Friday.

Two of the top high school basketball players in Michigan are back on the recruiting board. The Only Colors talks about what Percy Gibson and LaDontae Henton might have to offer Michigan State.

LaDontae Henton Looks At Post-Dayton Options

LaDontae Henton sat down with Sam Hosey after officially signing an LOI release from Dayton. If Percy Gibson follows suit, is MSU interested in either one? As Coach Izzo says he's still recruiting 2011, lots of questions now that a scholarship is available at MSU.

Delvon Roe is Day-to-Day; No Structural Damage Found

An official tweet from Spartan basketball reads as follows: "Delvon Roe's status is day-to-day after a MRI and diagnostic testing revealed no structural damage to his right knee." Great news for Roe and MSU. Sounds like something that will benefit from a few days of rest.

Matt Costello Propels Bay City Western into Top 10

I didn't want to save this for a recruiting round-up: Matt Costello is playing some exceptional bball. I've been a big advocate of him in G&W and Matt's recent performances are backing it up big-time. He's had some huge games and averaging 23pts and 14 rebounds as a junior post player in Class A is for real. He's up to #37 on ESPN's recently updated rankings.

I'll have more on MSU recruits later this week but for now let's wish Denzel Valentine a speedy recovery. Denzel took a nasty fall on a dunk attempt against St. John's and injured his hand while receiving a mild concussion.

William Gholston Out for the Year

Matt Charboneau is reporting that William Gholston is having shoulder surgery and is out for the season. Dantonio said he could have fought through it but would have missed all of Spring practice. Shame, as some extra bowl practice reps would have helped prepare him for next season.
