Does Joe Webb have a real shot?
I'm asking my fellow readers: Does Joe Webb have a real shot. I don't know much about the guy other than he's a freak of an athlete. Can he make the NFL type throws. Is he a possible 2nd coming of a Michael Vick? Sending Sage packing must mean something or was it just money? Having a full year with the team has got to help. I'm betting we don't draft a Q.B. next year. Unless someone very highly regarded falls to us. If we have kept Tarvaris all this time you would have to think that Joe would get a legitimate shot at beating him out in camp next year. I know it's early & a lot of this is speculation but the guy is an eye catcher. Some things can't be taught. Is his arm is good enough to keep defenses honest? If so his running becomes even scarier. Guys are going to be wishing they had a net to throw over this guy. Just interested in what your thoughts are on Joe. If we don't beat Detriot this week we may see him on the field this year.
Fix the error
O.k by now the whole world knows that Jim Joyce cost Armando Galarraga his perfect game. So why does everyone sit by like our hands our tied and do nothing about it. The outcome of the game is not changed. The last at bat after the gaff never took place. Is there some mystical power that won't allow this. How stupid are we. Everyone says oh what a shame like its etched in stone like nothing can be done about. The umpire even admits it was an error. These two guys are going to live the rest of their lives thinking about a split second of judgement which was an oblivous and honest mistake. The commissioner can fix it. Oh thats right he's the same guy that called the All Star game a tie. What a spineless S.O.B. he really is. The umps also blew the Twins a shot a winning a game the same night. I personally think its time to expand replay also. Maybe a couple of coaches challenges like football would be in order. Just wondering how you guys feel about fixing this and replay also.
BRIDESMAID REVISITED
I'm starting to think that we are jinxed. I'm 53 so I remember the 70's teams. The four Superbowl losses. The 1975 team that was the best team in the league was done in by a hail mary. The 98 team. Atlanta had zero turnovers & zero penalties in that game, unreal. Our kicker hadn't missed a kick all season until that game. I know the best team does not always win but we can't seam to win when we are the best team. We are the most successful team in the NFL to never win a Superbowl. We have averaged going to the playoffs every other year since 1961. Yet we have never been Superbowl Champions. We have had chance after chance but for some reason we just can't break through. Is there a hex or a curse or did we do something to tick off the Gods. The Saints won the game the only way they could, turnovers. We were as I thought all along the better team. Just not yesterday. I get the feeling that even if Brett doesn't throw that last interception that Longwell would have missed the kick. I know he's been money all year but somewhere someones sticking pins into a little Viking doll and laughing till their sides ache. I know some of my Viking brethern are hurting pretty bad right now. I feel for you guys. I have been there myself. After 98 I quit wearing my heart on my sleeve. Yeah I'm disapointed but most of us have seen this movie so many times that losing is expected. I know I will go ape shit if they ever do win it all. It's just that after you have been kicked so many times that one more time doesn't hurt that much. Skol Vikes & lets give it another shot this fall.
TOP TEAMS SELDOM MEET IN SUPERBOWL
The Colts & the Saints are everyone's dream matchup for the Superbowl. The problem is it probably won't happen. I started going back and checking out the #1 seeds in the playoffs and seeing how they did in the big game.
Since 1994 the two #1 seeds from each conference have never met. That's right boys & girls never! Don't get me wrong one of them has been there 12 of those 15 years but not both. The last 2 years neither top seed has been there. Just wanted to let all the gloom & doomers out there know that #2 seed fares very well in getting to the big game also.
We have built it, they will come
I'm not sure what QB's will be available after this season. I really haven't looked into it, but wouldn't you want to play for the Vikes if Brett doesn't come back. All the so called experts kept saying all the Vikings needed to be a serious contender was a QB. Well we got BF and now we are. I realize alot depends on what happens this year. If we win it all BF is gone. I think if we get close he might come back. If not the Vikes have alot of the pieces in place. A healthy Hasselback or Delhomme or Pennington come to mind. We oblivously won't be drafting in the top ten anytime soon thats for sure. I think we could find a solid veteran that could step in and perform well. Having a top notch running game and a solid defense along with our recieving corps should appeal to a solid vet looking to escape another 6-10 season. We still have Tjack maybe after watching and learning from BF it has sunk in. He has the tools, just needs to use his head for more than a hat rack. Help me out here brethen who's available and what are your thoughts. I think it could work to keep us in the hunt.
