I joined the Golden State of Mind community in September of 2006, and have been on the writing staff since November of 2012. I once wrote a 1,000+ word critique on the Warriors' alternate sleeved uniforms, and Robin Lopez commented on my article on Facebook. Kids: dreams do come true.

Preview: Warriors vs. Bobcats. Beware the trap.

All signs point to danger. It would be easy for the Warriors to overlook the Cats, who will themselves be looking to end a 13-game slide.

Preview: Warriors at Heat. Let's do this.

In which we look at each Warrior Wonder and how they might contribute to victory in Miami.

Preview: Warriors battle Nets in the East

There's a lot to like about the 2012 Warriors. I try to jinx it all right here.

Bogut out indefinitely.

The Lacob-led Warriors set out to prove that they're as deceitful, dishonest, and arrogant as they were under Cohan. Were they successful? I'll give you one guess.

Details of Andrew Bogut's microfracture surgery

Warriors lay Wolves out with a Falcon Punch

Harrison Barnes decides to keep the poster publishers working late tonight, dunks Wolves into oblivion.

It's a Turkey Day miracle: Backcourt all gravy

It doesn't get tastier than this. The Warriors mashed the Nets 102-93, stuffing the stat sheet with lots of different guys getting a slice of the pie. You see where I'm going with this.

Golden State Warriors: Defensive Juggernaut?

Of course they're not. But surprisingly, defense and rebounding are not the unspeakable curse that they used to be.

Warriors beat Hawks, make Nellie's eyes bleed

Golden State uses defense and rebounding to grind its way to an ugly victory over the Hawks. In other words, the rudest thing they could have done on Don Nelson Hall of Fame Night.

Warriors at Lakers: Time to flip the script

This is familiar. The Patriarch of the Pacific, fresh off a nice home victory, getting ready to dispatch the beleaguered, panic-stricken division bottom-dweller. Yes, it's the L.A. Lakers versus...

Warriors uniform news

Paul Lukas published his annual Uni Watch NBA Season Preview today. Always a good read if you haven't taken a look. If you're a regular reader of Uni Watch you'll be familiar with much of what Paul...

The Warriors fan experience, and why it feels different this year

In years past, I've written a few hyperbole-laden fanposts on the Warriors fan experience. We all know the experience I'm talking about — here's a breakdown: Step 1: Unbridled optimism in October; ...

"Almost forgot about @KCsFinest4, he played well today, he always been athletic but he's attacking more of the dribble this summer" - @JaredDudley619

Nice to hear that Rush continues to work on his drive. I think this is what made the choice between him and DWright easy for the brass: once defenses tagged Dorell as a 3-point threat, he never adjusted well to the hard closeouts he started getting. Rush did make the adjustment, and drove a lot more during the second half of the season.

Introducing, yoooouuurrrr Santa Cruz Warriors! 1) Strange that they decided to keep the Warriors name. It happens in minor league baseball, but I believe this is the first D-League team to go this route, right? 2) Nice that the Warriors' colors are basically the same as UCSC's; this might help sell some merchandise. 3) So, is that a trident? Did they try to make it bridge-esque? If anything, it reminds me of Thunder-era design, though luckily without the gradients and, y'know, the buff blue guy.

Alex Kennedy: Rudy Gay likely on the trade block, Warriors among teams that would be in pursuit

No real news here, but hey: when you get a chance to beat a dead horse, you gotta do it, right? Are there any deals that make Gay remotely interesting? I vote no.

"Santa Cruz city council approves warriors moving d league team. Unanimously!!!" -@kirkland_j

As a Slug alum, let me just say: wha-wha-wha-whaaatt?? Not exactly a match made in heaven. And I couldn't be more thrilled. (Are they gonna play at the Civic?)

Let's talk about Monta Ellis

*The majority of this post was written prior to this sexual harassment business. Monta Ellis is pretty fascinating. He's one of just a small handful of players that are entirely polarizing: we...

Free Agency Frenzy, or, That Time When Bad Teams Get Worse

Yeah, I get it: a bunch of centers are on the market, we need some "beef," we have room under the cap and the option to dump a past mistake with the amnesty provision. So, let's write a blank...

"Larry Riley talked to media today -- said M.Ellis rumors "fabricated," & team isn't going to be trading him on draft night or though summer." -@MSteinmetzCSN

Mully said this about Jason Richardson before shipping him out. Still: it seems risky and short-sighted to make proclamations like this.

@Probballdraft: "Golden State really working the phone lines to move Monta Ellis. Having a hard time drumming up interest..."

Recent tweets — take them with as many grains of salt as you'd like: "Golden State really working the phone lines to move Monta Ellis. Having a hard time drumming up interest. Might get 70 cents on the dollar." "Sounds like the Ellis camp is working the phones also tryin to land in Chicago or Orlando. So far Philly is lukewarm & Clippers not inclined" "A lot of teams feel that Monta is not a winner & have concerns about locker room effect. Teams most likely to fit ORL, NJ, IND, PHO."

New Washington Wizards Uniforms: Completely Awesome

Tremendous stuff. The primary font is terrible on its own, but it fits the jerseys well enough that it can be overlooked. The new secondary Washington Memorial ball logo is great. Shorts look good too. Edit: Dang, imgs can't be embedded in link fanshots. See big images of new unis: HOME | AWAY

Warriors Hardwood Classics 2011 Throwbacks

Fantastic, of course. The Franklin Mieuli tribute patches are an unexpected and unique addition. Love it!

Rodney Carney waived

"Movement day for the Warriors. They release Rodney Carney before his deal becomes guaranteed next week." Clears the way for a 2-for-1. Also clears the way for more Vlad Rad minutes, which frightens me to death.

Ekpe Udoh and the bumpy ride from summer through 22

The legendary Ekpe Udoh is set to make his NBA debut today. A hero's welcome he will likely receive, along with expectations of near-heroic proportions that seemed unfathomable just a short six...

Iowa Energy get jersey sponsorship from Toyota of Des Moines

Toyota of Des Moines' logo will appear below the player's number on the front of all jerseys.

Report: Solomon Alabi to join Bayhawks; Ed Davis next?

The Toronto Star's Doug Smith is reporting that the Raptors will assign Solomon Alabi to the Erie Bayhawks next week. The Raptors' 1st round pick Ed Davis, who's coming off a knee injury, may soon be joining him for a rehab stint. Davis missed all of training camp, but had a pretty good summer league (12.6 ppg on 63 FG%, 6 rpg).

Gaines officially signs with T-Wolves

Sundiata Gaines has officially signed with the Minnesota Timberwolves, according to ProBasketballTalk. Both Jonny Flynn and Luke Ridnour are expected back next week—will this be a short-lived callup? Gaines will probably have at least three games to show what he can do.
