"Reliever Tanner Scheppers probably pitched as well as I've ever seen him, certainly the best I've seen since his original assignment to Frisco in 2010. Scheppers retired the side in order on 12 pitches, offering a fastball that ranged from 96 to 100 MPH and what now looks like a full-blown slider that reached 86. Leadoff hitter Gil Velazquez managed to ground out, but the next two batters struck out swinging. This was the equivalent of an established Major Leaguer coming over to the back fields to get in some work against some AA hitters. Scheppers has had some missteps, too, but on the whole he's shown substantial improvement over last year, when his fastball command was largely absent."

From today's Scott Lucas Rangers Farm Report. In case anyone wanted some good news for a change.
