Things i believe could happen in 2011
Well first of all, id like to start by saying this website is my lifeline to the dolphins since i live in Prattville Al. and there is never any coverage in my area about the fins. So its the phinsider , sentinel, and herald.com for me. This is a very interesting site that fills a drastic need for me......so Thanx
All i seem to read know is hype and speculation and i love it. So i wanted to spread some of the hype id love to see happen.
Of course id love to see us trade back like most of you and pick up a second. But thats gonna be tough at 15 without a really good friend in another team and i just dont know if we have that or if the 15th pick is gonna be worth trading up for.So lets just assume we have to pick at 15. I say we go best available lets not confine our pick to 2 or 3 positions lets just draft some awesome athletes.
One player i really like is D.J. Williams out of arkansas id love for us to get a second round pick and use it on him. He is an amazing pass catcher and he can stretch the field vertically thus freeing up The Beast in the middle of the field. I honestly believe he is gonna be an elite pass catching te.
On to Henne. Start him and watch him soar baby...he is gonna break out in the next two seasons. The man has a cannon but i think he may be just uncomfortable in the offense he had to run last year. Lets see how he does in dabols scheme and then we can tar and feather him if need be but to be fair he needs this next year to prove himself and i think he will.I hope he will.
what about Plaxxico? Before you jump to conclusions just think about it for a second...yeah hes gettin old and they say he may have lost some weight and a step. What was one of our major shortcomings last year..red zone td's. Pick him up for 1 or 2 years filled with incentives and watch him earn his money ala vick. No hes not gonna get you 20 snaps a game but he could get you 10 to 12 and he is a massive target inside the 20. im just sayin............we could use that.
I say let ronnie go and try to sign ricky. maybe the inner pot head in me feels his pain but also i just like his running style better than ronnies especially with our line. Ricky picks a hole and explodes Ronnie picks and stutter steps and tries to be too meticulous. Run Ricky Run...........i love him. Since ronnie is gone he will need a drive to the airport and i got just the guy.......Channing Crowder goodbye see you later you gotta go! I dont care who fills his spot hopefully somebody with passion.
I like Deangelo Williams to team up with ricky or a good back in the draft if we get lucky. Ingram is fine with me i watched Alabama football all year and barring that injury he is a freak. Shifty quick and strong. He will not be denied on the goal line, and that sounds great to me. but we could get even luckier if we bag his replacement at Alabama next year in Trent Richardson if you aint seen him run you should definately check it out.
I would really just love to see some swagger and passion on the football field this year that way win or loose i will still have fun yelling at the tv this season.
When will our time come.........my futile suggestions
I'm not sure the draft has answers for our ever declining franchise. First of all id like to say i really love the miami dolphins and it kills me to watch us flounder. Below are a couple of maybes that might work.
First is head coach and oc. I like gruden and get ready for this.....urban meyer at oc, ok its a reach but what about mike martz?
At he quarterback position we need to let thigpen go and try to pick up matt moore or shaun hill via free agency. I really like kyle orton as well.
At running back we let brown go and try to keep ricky one more year just because he runs so hard. I like deangelo williams and hightower via fa.
We need to trade down in the draft and try to get back a second rounder or early third. We need to use all our picks on speed speed speed, we look slow and sluggish on every play.
tell me what you think
My answer to the million dollar ?
What direction will the dolphins take this offseason? After much discussion with myself on the toilet these last coupl of days ive come up with the following:
1. the dolphins sign dansby. dansby plays olb next year for the fins.
2. Pete Carrol definately wants and needs offense in seattle next year and thats what he will address first. if he isnt able to land bush in fa he will surely be looking at spiller. The dolphins front office is gonna want to go defense regardless at the #12 spot. Seattle will not let spiller go to san fran at 13 so we trade down with seattle our 12 for their 14 and a third rounder.
3. Spiller goes to seattle at 12 leaving us with either mcclain or witherspoon at 14. either wat suring up the ilb position. Now we have addressed both linebacker positions.
4. We trade our third rounder for Boldin.
5. We then spend both second round picks on offensive solutions. I see mccluster or best at rb. then the second pick on a tight end or receiver (maybe lafell)
6. now i believe we are set up on offense. receivers: boldin bess lafell ginn hartline running back: brown williams mcclustr/best
7. pick myron rolle out of florida state and most recently oxford to play fs
8. we win the afc east
Pennington back to the Jets?
The most interesting topic coming out of gang green is this very question. With the tendering of Clemmons and prob Brad Smith on the horizon for the Jets who would be their back up? Of course a team interested in Clemmons would likely have to concede a second rounder for his services. This may be unlikely but what if?
Would this be a bad thing? I dont think so. That team seems to be built for Chad. A good ground game, great "D" and nothing more than a backup leadership type role for Chad. I personally think its a good fit but unlikely plus im hyped about Thigpen as our backup.
How does the Fin Nation feel about it????
To all the Teddy G haters........
All the haters will realize that this kid is gonna be great. He has all the intangibles that make a great receiver. speed, body control, hands, and a great qb. All he needs is confidence which i believe he will have this year since it will be the only time in his career he would have the same qb two years in a row. If we give up on him now he will go to another team and they will reep the benefits of his first 3 years with us. We have given up on receivers before and look at them now....aromashadou and welker for example

Are Dolphin fan's hopes unrealistic for FA?
All i keep hearing this offseason so far is what players the dolphins are gonna go after in FA. I have been a dolphin fan my whole life and like most of you i dont remember us ever making a move in FA that was worth remembering. I do remember us letting brees breeze right past us and onto the eventual superbowl champs! I know im gonna hear its an uncapped year.....yaddi yadda yadda. Its also an uncapped year for every other team that is in the league. And from what i can remember there are alot more teams out there that seem like they are willing to pay top money for top talent. We seem to be more like the Braves of mlb.a we are willing to let the superstars go to division rivals while we sit back and sign 35 year old has beens. we are in a division with the most cunning team when it comes to paying talent [patriots] a team that will pay whatever for skill players and does[jets]. I guess it just pisses me off to see us flounder year after year and it seems like we dont even really try to go after the big name guys that are out there. I hear boldin marshall dansby and peppers. i dont believe we will land any of these guys. does the top talent not want to play for us or are we to cheap to get them? All i know is we have to do something and do it soon because the teams that make moves win and the ones that dont ala browns rams chiefs dolphins dont win. And as i see it WE DESERVE A WINNING TEAM we got a taste in 2008 and it was delicious but we were a couple of players away in 2008 and what did we do in that offseason?? We signed gibril wilson, that was our biggest signee, and we dropped to third in the division by loosing to a few great teams but also some teams we should have beaten. What if we would have went after edwards or seymour would that have upgraded our team? sure it would but as usuall we sit back and watch other teams get better. What will happen this year, will we make some big moves and build or sit back and pick up the leagues scraps again. Just wondering......let me know what you think.
LETS BUTT HEADS OVER THIS ONE FIN NATION
here are two of my favorite dolphins over the last few years. mr.polite and rob konrad. i used to love to watch konrad bust through the line and drag defenders for a 4 yard gain on 3rd and 2. Jumped and yelled when feidler would hit him out in the flat for a 12 yard bruising touchdown. he will always have a place on my back on sundays. now onto polite. an absolute beast of a man. sure handed thick thighed and hard nosed. became my fave runningback after ronnie went down just because of his heart. no knock on ricky cobbs or our stable of good backs but polite is a bruiser and i love watching him with the ball lets see how the nation feels
Who really cares about CP10.......
I concur that chad played a role in our success in 2008. He WAS NOT the reason we had such a great turnaround. The reason was a new way of thinking and playing. we hit harder and we wanted to win. Any number of quarterbacks in the league could have had success with the 2008 team. And my final thought on chad pennington is this......he is and always will be a stinking JET. Let the people decide.........
Porter the Poison......whats he really worth?
I have been paying alot of attention to porter and the posts about him. it seems like he is more interested in being on first and ten rather than stopping the run on first and ten. 2 years ago i could stomach his antics because he was producing....now i realize why tony got sick of his antics and pretty much severed ties with him. Congratulations joey you were have the player this year as you were last year for the same price....i say try to steal a second round pick for him or settle for a third. i hate i wasted my time cheering for him these last couple of years because clearly he isnt worth the fin nations time......
